Assessment of Self Concept among Intermediate Students of A. P. Model Schoolsiosrjce
The main purpose of this study was to assess the Self Concept among Intermediate students of A.P.
Model Schools. In this study, Normative Survey Method was adopted. The participants of the study were 200
Intermediate II year students of ten A.P. Model Schools , Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, India in 2014-2015
session. The researchers used Self Concept checklist developed by N. Venkataramana (1976). Its validity and
reliability has been well established. Data was analyzed using Descriptive Statistics and Differential Analysis
(t-test). The findings revealed that the subgroups of Intermediate students did not show any significant
difference in the five dimensions of Self Concept. Among the five dimensions, the first three are negative
dimensions and last two are positive dimensions. A negative relationship was found between the first three
dimensions and subgroups where as a positive relationship was found between the last two dimensions and
subgroups. Based on the findings, suggestions were made that same study may be extended to A.P. Model
Schools of 13 Districts of Andhra Pradesh, other Junior colleges, Degree colleges, PG colleges, Engineering
and Medical colleges etc. Different other variables like management, locality, birth order, caste, educational
status of father, educational status of mother, size of family etc. can be included.

The assessment of child’s development is important within child and adolescent mental health services for clinicians assessing mental health issues of a child. Assessment tools are routinely relied upon to aid assessment and to monitor and evaluate treatment and service effectiveness (Bentley, N., Hartley, S., & Bucci, S. (2019). Child and adolescent care focus on mental health symptoms and diagnoses as they apply to their development and is focused on supporting children and their parents on the path to recovery.
Why Development assessment of children and adolescent important
Child development refers to the continuous but predictably sequential biological, psychological and emotional changes that occur in human beings between birth and the end of adolescence (Choo, Y. Y., Yeleswarapu, S. P., How, C. H., & Agarwal, P., 2019). Children and adolescent development assessment is important because children develop at different rates, which are determined by a complex interplay of environmental and genetic factors and the age of attainment for each milestone ranges widely. Therefore, a thorough developmental assessment may help to highlight normal or abnormal development pattern and timings and be aware of the red flags that would warrant further specialist referrals when necessary (Choo, Y. Y., Yeleswarapu, S. P., How, C. H., & Agarwal, P., 2019). Additionally, identifying signs and symptoms through detailed clinical history and developmental examination may help discover key areas of concern and presence or absence of a mental health disorder. It may also help the practitioner to come to a case formulation that would guide management decisions and develop a patient centered care plan. The developmental history of a child, across different domains gives the “background” on which to understand the current behavioral concerns and to plan pharmacological and psychotherapeutic management (Srinath, S., Jacob, P., Sharma, E., & Gautam, A. (2019) According to Srinath, S., Jacob, P., Sharma, E., & Gautam, A. (2019), a child with a developmental history of social and language delay, presenting with peer relationship issues and bullying in school, may probably have social skill deficits arising from autism spectrum disorder.
Two assessment instruments used for children and adolescents but not adults.
The two main assessment instruments that are used specifically for the children and adolescent are the diagnostic interviews and questionnaires (Sadock, B. J., Sadock, V. A., & Ruiz, P., 2014). One interviewer-based diagnostic interview is the child and Adolescent Psychiatric Assessment (CAPA). CAPA can be used for children from 9 to 17 years and.

Impacts of Mentor’s Strategic Communication on Adjustment Problems among Adol...Arun Varghese
ABSTRACT Introduction: Adolescence is the period of rapid changes in physical and mental state. Rapid storm of physiological changes brigs a great deal of stress and adjustment difficulties. It represents one of the critical transitions in the life span with a wide range of adjustment and mental health problems. The present study is aimed to assess the impact of Mentor’s Strategic Communication on adjustment problems among adolescents. Methodology: A quasi experimental non-equivalent control group design was chosen to assess the impact of Mentor’s Strategic Communication by using Self developed Adjustment Inventory among 60 adolescents (30 each experimental and control group) with mild and moderate adjustment problems at selected schools, Kerala. The Samples were selected based on simple random sampling. Appropriate descriptive & inferential statistics was applied to compute the results. Results: Finding reveals that out of 30 students, 70% reported moderate adjustment problems while 30% were in mild adjustment issues in experimental group. There was a significant difference for adjustment problems among experimental and control group after Mentor’s strategic communication (p<0.001). Further, number of siblings (p<0.032) and education status of father (p<0.008) found significant association to adjustment problems among schools going adolescents. Conclusion: The results of the study revealed that majority of adolescents face adjustment problems and Mentor’s strategic communication had significant impact on improvement in adjustment problems. A planned and timely infusion of mentorship strategy may help them to deal with their day to day adjustment problems and help them to focus in studies in a better way. Main Post
According to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (1995), children and adolescents are evaluated due to psychiatric disorders that impair emotional, cognitive, physical, and/or behavioral functioning. The child or adolescent is evaluated in the context of the family, school, community, and culture. The purpose and aims of the clinical diagnostic assessment are to determine whether psychopathology is present and, if so, to establish a differential diagnosis and tentative diagnostic formulation, to develop a treatment recommendation and plan, or to communicate the above findings in an appropriate fashion to the parents and child. In addition, the aims of the assessment process are to identify the stated reasons and factors leading to the referral, to assess the nature and severity of the child's behavioral difficulties, functional impairments, subjective distress, and to identify individual, family, or environmental factors that may potentially account for, influence, or ameliorate these difficulties. When assessing children, parents’ interviews and school functioning reports are necessary.
The assessment tool I will discuss in this post is the Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders (SCARED). Per the University of Pittsburg (2019), SCARED is a child and parent self-report instrument used to screen for childhood anxiety disorders including general anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and social phobia. In addition, it assesses symptoms related to school phobia. The SCARED consists of 41 items and 5 factors that parallel the DSM-IV classification of anxiety disorders. The child and parent versions of the SCARED have moderate parent-child agreement and good internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and discriminant validity, and it is sensitive to treatment response

How to Use SCARED
: SCARED is a questionnaire with scales that describes how people feel. Clients read each phrase and decide if it is “Not True or Hardly Ever True” or “Somewhat True or Sometimes True” or “Very True or Often True”. Then, for each sentence, they fill in one circle that corresponds to the response that seems to describe them for the last 3 months. After each phrase and circles, there are abbreviations of the various disorders. Therefore,
a total score of >25 may indicate the presence of an
Anxiety Disorder
. Scores higher than 40 are more specific.
A score of 7 for items 1, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 19, 22, 24, 27, 30, 34, 38 may indicate
Panic Disorder or Significant Somatic Symptoms (PN).
A score of 9 for items 5, 7, 14, 21, 23, 28, 33, 35, 37 may.
Psychological assessment is a process of testing that uses a combination of techniques to help arrive at some hypotheses about a person and their behavior, personality and capabilities.

Techniques to optimize the pagerank algorithm usually fall in two categories. One is to try reducing the work per iteration, and the other is to try reducing the number of iterations. These goals are often at odds with one another. Skipping computation on vertices which have already converged has the potential to save iteration time. Skipping in-identical vertices, with the same in-links, helps reduce duplicate computations and thus could help reduce iteration time. Road networks often have chains which can be short-circuited before pagerank computation to improve performance. Final ranks of chain nodes can be easily calculated. This could reduce both the iteration time, and the number of iterations. If a graph has no dangling nodes, pagerank of each strongly connected component can be computed in topological order. This could help reduce the iteration time, no. of iterations, and also enable multi-iteration concurrency in pagerank computation. The combination of all of the above methods is the STICD algorithm. [sticd] For dynamic graphs, unchanged components whose ranks are unaffected can be skipped altogether.
Levelwise PageRank with Loop-Based Dead End Handling Strategy : SHORT REPORT ...Subhajit Sahu
Abstract — Levelwise PageRank is an alternative method of PageRank computation which decomposes the input graph into a directed acyclic block-graph of strongly connected components, and processes them in topological order, one level at a time. This enables calculation for ranks in a distributed fashion without per-iteration communication, unlike the standard method where all vertices are processed in each iteration. It however comes with a precondition of the absence of dead ends in the input graph. Here, the native non-distributed performance of Levelwise PageRank was compared against Monolithic PageRank on a CPU as well as a GPU. To ensure a fair comparison, Monolithic PageRank was also performed on a graph where vertices were split by components. Results indicate that Levelwise PageRank is about as fast as Monolithic PageRank on the CPU, but quite a bit slower on the GPU. Slowdown on the GPU is likely caused by a large submission of small workloads, and expected to be non-issue when the computation is performed on massive graphs.
