requisites.
How much does the certificate cost?
Each class is currently $650.00. The total cost of the program is $3,960.00, which includes the $60.00

will need to notify Student Services by submitting the Online Intent to Complete Certificate Program
form. Once you have formally notified Student Services, your certificate will be mailed to the address we
have on file for you within 2 weeks.

There is no application process; our classes are open to everyone. You simply Register in the Certificate Program
followed by enrolling in the individual courses as they are offered.
What kind of credit do I earn? Is it accepted at other universities?
You will earn Continuing Education Units (CEU). The CEU is a uniform measure of non-credit continuing
education learning experiences (no academic units are involved). One CEU is defined as ten contact
hours of participation in a continuing education course. Employers, professional groups, licensing
agencies and others who routinely examine and evaluate individual accomplishments generally accept
this unit of measure.
Each individual academic institution decides whether or not to accept UCSD Extensionâs CEUs. If
you wish to transfer credit, it is your responsibility to confer with the receiving institution's advisor
before enrolling.
3. How can I get more information on the specific courses?
Please email unex-techdata@ucsd.edu to request for specific syllabi.
What are my grading options for each course?
If you plan to obtain a certificate, all courses must be taken for either a Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass.
You must earn a grade of at least a "C-" or âPassâ in order to apply the associated units towards the
certificate. A "Pass" grade is equivalent to a "C-" or better.
How will I receive my final grade?
Once the course is completed, the instructor has 10 working days to submit your grades. After
the grades have been posted, you can view and print them via My Extension, your online
education management portal. Please contact Student Services at 858-534-3400 or unex-
reg@ucsd.edu if you experience any issues with logging in.
How long is each course?
Each course can vary; they generally run from 6 to 9 weeks.
Can I enroll in more than one course per quarter?
The required courses should be taken sequentially as each course builds on its predecessor. However,
you can concurrently enroll in one of the required sequenced courses and an elective course. Please
contact unex-techdata@ucsd.edu for exceptions.
Can I get a copy of my receipt?
Yes, please login to the My Extension website and select âDocumentsâ as the top of the page.

uploaded on Blackboard, our online learning management system, so that you can learn at your own
pace. However, please be aware that you may have weekly assignments, quizzes and/or tests that are
due on specific dates. Please click here to take a sample course tour to see if this format suits your
