Smile to start conversations positively and remove ill feelings. Use a moderate tone and volume as loud voices can put people off. Greet with salam to repel hatred and create love. Shake hands when greeting to further foster goodwill. Inquire about people's wellbeing, families and consider differences in age, status and temperament when communicating. Choose concise words for clarity and refrain from sins of the tongue like lying or insulting. End interactions by greeting warmly with salam and shaking hands again.

The topic on man and nature is one that has been discussed over the centuries. This topic has caught the attention of many scholars that come from many diverse field of specialization. As an appreciation to the great contribution of nature to the human survival, some have equated nature to God. Since the two are synonymous to them, they worship nature alongside with God. Others thought that nature is an obstacle to the human lives and men need to conquer and prevail over nature. In the light of these two extreme positions, this paper intends to explore and investigate the relationship between man and nature from the Islamic perspective. Apart from that, this paper would like to find out as to why the Muslim community is not paying due attention to the conservation and preservation of nature at a time when there is a serious call made by others to stop the ongoing environmental degradation that is happening all over the world. It is hoped that an investigation of this nature would bring to light as to what should be the ideal relationship of man with nature from the Islamic perspective.

The power of your voice is immense. Its the strongest communication tool you have. Just like your impression of others are bound up with how they sound, your voice tells people a lot about you, even more than what you wear. People who hear your voice make immediate judgements and assumptions about you. Your voice has the power to lift others or to break them. Your voice can open up such opportunities for you that you cannot imagine!
As a parent or teacher you can give children and students the confidence to reach their highest potential or you can destroy their confidence and self-respect
As a husband or wife you can make your marriage grow and flourish or can end up miserable and very alone.
As a son or daughter you can give your parents such peace of mind that the gates of Jannah can be opened for you or you can dig a grave for yourself that is fuelled by the scorching fire of Jahannam.
As a speaker or leader you can energise and empower your listeners so that they are ready to sacrifice all that is of worth to them for the worthy cause you call for, or you can bring them down to their knees and demotivate or victimise them
Speaking is such an important part of us. If we can’t get this right we can lead ourselves to destruction and serious stress.
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: “...the whole body warns the tongue saying, “Fear Allah concerning us, for we are (dependant) upon you. If you are upright then we will be upright and if you are corrupt then we will be corrupt.” - Sunan at-Tirmidhi
Abu Hurairah (ra) also reported that the Prophet (saw) said, “Indeed a servant may say a word from which Allah’s pleasure is gained and the servant does not realize it, Allah will raise him up levels. Indeed a servant may say a word from which Allah’s displeasure is gained and he does not realize it, Allah will put him in Jahanam due to it.” - Sahih al-Bukhari
This module is not to be missed! How much do you care about the way you influence or impact others around you from the way you talk and your voice.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
2. Smile
• “Your smiling in the face of your brother is charity.” [Jami` at-
Tirmidhi]
• an instant ingredient to start any conversation positively and
to remove any past ill feelings that could be present.
Pay attention
to the tone
and volume
• “And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most
disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys.” [Qur’an: Chapter 31, Verse 19]
• Your tone determines whether you will make your relationship or break it. Any
undesirable loudness in your voice could put people off and make any further
attempts to communicate futile
Start with the
Islamic
greeting of
peace
• “A man came to the Prophet and said: Peace be upon you! He responded to his
salutation. He then sat down. The Prophet said: Ten [rewards]. [Sunan Abi
Dawud]
• It will repel hatred and create love between you.
3. • “There are no two
Muslims who meet and
shake hands, but they will
be forgiven before they
part.” [Sunan Ibn Majah]
• Accompany your greeting
with shaking hands (if
you are greeting your
mahram or a person of
your gender).
Shake
hands
• Ask them how they
are doing and
inquire about their
health and well-
being and that of
their family and
friends. They will
feel loved and
cared for.
Inquire
about
people
• Consider people’s
different
characteristics
and differences
while
communicating.
Keep in mind
their age, status,
temperament and
other factors.
Remember
not all are
the same
4. Teach at every
opportunity
• The Prophet used
every chance to enjoin
the good and forbid
the evil. If there is ever
a need for you to say
something corrective
in nature, do so gently.
Refrain from the
common evils of
the tongue
• These habits are grievous
sins that eat away at our
rewards and the barakah
in our lives
• People getting together
and communicating with
each other often leads to
falling into various sins
related to the tongue such
as talking about
Allah without
knowledge, slandering,
lying, insulting and
cursing.
Choose simple,
concise words
•“I have been given superiority
over the other prophets in six
respects: I have been given
words which are concise but
comprehensive in meaning”
[…] [Sahih Muslim].
• He spoke with clarity
and made people
comprehend easily,
sometimes by even
repeating his words
thrice.
5. Stay away
from
argumentation
Being nice is easy
when you’re dealing
with nice people.
But, practically
speaking, this world
has more to it than
such people
Do your best
efforts,try not
to fall into
disputes and
argumentation.
End with the
greeting
Before departing, smile,
shake hands and greet
people warmly with the
salam.
In writing, start
with Allah’s
Name:
If you were to communicate
in writing, in addition to the
points above that are
relevant, it is desirable to
start your written
communication with
‘Bismillaahir Rahmaanir
Raheem’
Prophet numero
us times when he
dispatched
letters to kings
and heads of
peoples and
tribes.
