3. o Named after tenth-century Danish King Harald Blatand.
o Developed by Special Interest Group (SIG).
o Bluetooth wireless technology is a short range communication system intended to replace cables connecting portable or fixed electronic
devices.
o It provides the way to connect and exchange information between devices like PCs , Laptops ,Digital cameras , Mobile phones, etc.
4. • Wireless networking can be done.
• Bluetooth peripherals like printers, mice and Key Boards, Cell Phones, remote controls, hearing aids , Playstation, Etc
• Medical applications.
• Bluetooth car kit are also available. Certain data logging equipment transmits data to a computer via bluetooth.
5. o Bluetooth networking transmits data via low power radio waves.
o It operates in ISM band at 2.4 GHz (Exactly between 2.402GHz to 2.480 GHz).
o It can operate in noisy frequency environments as it uses a fast acknowledgement & frequency hopping scheme to make
the link robust.
o Bluetooth devices avoid interfering with other systems by sending weak signals of about 1mW.
o It can connect upto 8 devices simultaneously.
o When the devices are connected then they form a network called Personal Area network or Piconet.
6. o Bluetooth works very similarly to how Wi -Fi signals and radio signals work. Through radio waves.
o Bluetooth uses a band of 79 different frequencies (channels) which range from 2,4 -2,485 GHz. This
frequency interval is shared with industrial, scientific, and medical gadgets.
o But this won’t be a problem for you when you use Bluetooth. This is because the class 2 type Bluetooth
that exists in consumer devices such as phones and computers only have a range of around 10 m.
o Other types of Bluetooth are class 1 and 3. Class 1 is used in industry and has a range of around 100m
and class 3 is rarely used because of its short range of 1 m.
7. There are two main limitations of the current Bluetooth wireless standard:
Slow transfer rate
Susceptibility to interference
8. Bluetooth is a mature technology.
Bluetooth is a low-cost wireless technology.
Bluetooth can be easily integrated into your products
Although there are very few disadvantages,
Bluetooth still remains the best for short range wireless technology.
This Bluetooth technology will make a great evolution in the communication field.
Blue tooth represents a great chance for sensor-networked architecture.
