positioned opposite will
have opposing ideas.

have the right to pursue our
own goals. Liberalism

democracy.

The socialist left believes in
a free society that works
together to improve the
state.

Communism believes
everyone should be equal
removing the elite and the
class system. Everyone
must help the state and
participate equally. This
requires a lot of authority
and strict control.

7. It Started With A Revolution
Why left and right? It began
after the French Revolution
in 1789. when the new
government sat down the
victorious revolutionaries
sat on the left side of the
chamber and remnants of
the defeated nobility sat on
the right.

The conservative right
believes that long standing
tradition and hierarchy are
key to running a better
state.

Fascism believes in a unified
national community. It values
duty, honor , and war. The
state has complete control
and the citizens have to obey
a supreme leader. Fascists
see struggle and competition
as a natural order of life.

10. Eastern View
In Asian politics there is less
of a rainbow. Instead, political
ideas are based on strong
family values, like wisdom,
experience, and tradition. This
view delivers stern and
supportive ideas that seek to
achieve social harmony and
emphasize individual
responsibility.

Liberals believe we are
social creatures and should
be allowed to be part of an
equal community. A liberal
society is based on
cooperation rather than
competition. Liberals
believe in freedom, equality,
economy, society.

12. Conservatism On The Right
Conservatives look to
conserve what is already in
place and try to avoid change
and reform. Tradition and
hierarchy are key elements of
conservatism, as well as
private ownership and and
dutiful citizenship.
