household

The word family has been taken from roman word
Famulous meaning “A Servant”. In roman law the
word family denote the group of producers and slaves
and other servant as well as members connected to
common descends and much.
 Machlare defines family as;
“Group defined by a sex pre-relationship sufficiently
precise and enduring to provide for the procreation
and upbringing of children.
 Nimoff defines as family;
“it is a more or less durable
association husband and wife
without children man or
woman and alone with
children.
 Definition given by the
Burea of Cancers (USA) is
more easy. According to
Bearu family is “A group of
two or more persons related
by blood, marriage or
adoption and rising
together.
 According to Burgers and
Lokep;
A family is “A group of person
united by ties, by marriage,
blood adoption, constituting a
single house hold, interacting
and inter communication with
each other in their respective
role with husband, wife, mother
and father , son and daughter,
brother and sister creating a
common culture.

ii. A form of Marriage
iii. A common Habitation
iv. A system of Nomenclature
v. Economic Provision
Mating Relationship:
A family comes into existence when a man and a
woman establish matting relation between them.
A form of marriage:
A matting relationship is establish through the
institution marriage.
A common habitation:
A family required a home or house hold for his
living with addling place, the task of child rearing and
child cannot be adequately performed.

A System Nomenclature:
Every family is known by name and its own
system of reckoning descent may be reckoned through
the male line or through the female line (Usually the
wife goals and joins her husband relation but sometime
the husband also may go and trying.

Every family meet on economic provision to satisfy

profession and earns money to maintain the family.

1. Satisfaction of Sex need:
This first essential function of the family is perpetual
satisfaction of sex instinct bring the desire or lifelong
partnership among male and female.

The inevitable rest of sexual satisfaction is procreation .

the production and rearing of children. The function of
child rearing is better perform today their because now
more skill and knowledge are devoted on the chair of the
urban or new urban child.
3. Provision of a home
Desire of shelter is a powerful intensive for man or
woman to marriage. Man occurs the hard coin of the day
returns home, where in the his wife and children are the
source of relief of his fatigue. Though in modern time
there are hotels and clubs , which are also provide
recreation to the man, but the joy that a man feels within
congenial circle of women parents and children stand for
above the monitory pleasure. Which is provided by the
club and hotels.

Family is a center for the religions training of the
children, who learns from their parents .Various religions
were virtues. The religious and moral training of children
has always been bound up with home and though formal
religious education has reached into the earliest years
the family still furnished the matrix of religious ideas,
attitude and practices.
In the family, the basic notion of God, of salvation
and of morality are acquired during childhood.

As the education provide the basis of all the children,
latest formal learning. The interaction of parents and
children are the foundation. In which most of the
intellectual and emotional conditioning of the child take
place.
An other function performed in the family is
education of children. The child who wants to learn the
first lathers under the quiz dance of parents. The
traditional family was the center of vocational education
because the children were early child . However
associated with family task. The modern family has
delegated the task of vocational to technical institutes
and colleges.

The family is an important unit of society. It imparts
teaching to the individual at all. Those subjects,
where he can become an ideal member of society, as
it has been observed by Mack and Young.
The basic socialization of the child take place in
the family all the fundamental ideas, muscular skills,
and norms are acquired in the home, the child also
learns a great deal not deliberately that is
unconsciously. This is especially true of basic attitude
and value.

  • 1. Significance of family, household BY NOSHAD AHMED 15CRP46 City and Regional Planning department MUET Jamshoro.
  • 2. The word family has been taken from roman word Famulous meaning “A Servant”. In roman law the word family denote the group of producers and slaves and other servant as well as members connected to common descends and much.  Machlare defines family as; “Group defined by a sex pre-relationship sufficiently precise and enduring to provide for the procreation and upbringing of children.
  • 3.  Nimoff defines as family; “it is a more or less durable association husband and wife without children man or woman and alone with children.  Definition given by the Burea of Cancers (USA) is more easy. According to Bearu family is “A group of two or more persons related by blood, marriage or adoption and rising together.
  • 4.  According to Burgers and Lokep; A family is “A group of person united by ties, by marriage, blood adoption, constituting a single house hold, interacting and inter communication with each other in their respective role with husband, wife, mother and father , son and daughter, brother and sister creating a common culture.
  • 5. Characteristics of Family: i. Mating Relationship ii. A form of Marriage iii. A common Habitation iv. A system of Nomenclature v. Economic Provision
  • 6. Mating Relationship: A family comes into existence when a man and a woman establish matting relation between them. A form of marriage: A matting relationship is establish through the institution marriage. A common habitation: A family required a home or house hold for his living with addling place, the task of child rearing and child cannot be adequately performed.

A System Nomenclature: Every family is known by name and its own system of reckoning descent may be reckoned through the male line or through the female line (Usually the wife goals and joins her husband relation but sometime the husband also may go and trying. Economics Provision Every family meet on economic provision to satisfy economic meets the head of family carried on certain profession and earns money to maintain the family.

  • 14. 1. Satisfaction of Sex need: This first essential function of the family is perpetual satisfaction of sex instinct bring the desire or lifelong partnership among male and female.

  • 16. 2. Production and rearing of children The inevitable rest of sexual satisfaction is procreation . The task of race perpetuation has always an important Function of family it is an institution per excellence for the production and rearing of children. The function of child rearing is better perform today their because now more skill and knowledge are devoted on the chair of the urban or new urban child.
  • 17. 3. Provision of a home Desire of shelter is a powerful intensive for man or woman to marriage. Man occurs the hard coin of the day returns home, where in the his wife and children are the source of relief of his fatigue. Though in modern time there are hotels and clubs , which are also provide recreation to the man, but the joy that a man feels within congenial circle of women parents and children stand for above the monitory pleasure. Which is provided by the club and hotels.
  • 19. 4. Religion Family is a center for the religions training of the children, who learns from their parents .Various religions were virtues. The religious and moral training of children has always been bound up with home and though formal religious education has reached into the earliest years the family still furnished the matrix of religious ideas, attitude and practices. In the family, the basic notion of God, of salvation and of morality are acquired during childhood.

  • 21. 5. Education As the education provide the basis of all the children, latest formal learning. The interaction of parents and children are the foundation. In which most of the intellectual and emotional conditioning of the child take place. An other function performed in the family is education of children. The child who wants to learn the first lathers under the quiz dance of parents. The traditional family was the center of vocational education because the children were early child . However associated with family task. The modern family has delegated the task of vocational to technical institutes and colleges.
  • 23. 06. Social The family is an important unit of society. It imparts teaching to the individual at all. Those subjects, where he can become an ideal member of society, as it has been observed by Mack and Young. The basic socialization of the child take place in the family all the fundamental ideas, muscular skills, and norms are acquired in the home, the child also learns a great deal not deliberately that is unconsciously. This is especially true of basic attitude and value.
