The document discusses the Calvinist doctrine of perseverance of the saints, also known as "once saved, always saved." It presents arguments both for and against the idea that one can lose their salvation. Key points include: 1) Calvinists believe that if one is truly saved they can never lose salvation, while others point to biblical warnings about falling away from faith. 2) Several passages are discussed that condition eternal life on ongoing faith, obedience, and not forgetting God. 3) The idea that one's name can potentially be erased from the book of life is presented.
The temptation is one of the most familiar experiences of a true child of God and no one can totally escape from it. Even our Lord Jesus Christ was tempted (Matt 4:1, Heb 4:15). This is why the Lord taught us to include it in our daily prayer.

1 Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
The Roman Road To Salvation will show you simply how to have all of your sins forgiven so you can go to Heaven when you Die.
You don't have to repent, be water baptized, or stop sinning. All that you have to do is believe the Gospel.
Many people think they will go to heaven because they have lived a good life. Perhaps, they treat all of their neighbors fairly. Maybe they volunteer for charity work and have never broken the law. Maybe they were even baptized or go to church regularly. But the Bible, God's Word, says that no one can live up to God's standard of righteousness.
This Roman Road as laid out in scripture is God’s plan of salvation set forth in Paul’s letter to the Romans. The following scriptures build a beautiful road to Jesus Christ.
Paul begins this letter by describing God as the "God of all comforts." Join us this summer as we explore the teachings of Paul to the church at Corinth.

As we grow closer to Christ, we will develop a humble response to Truth. Over time we will see God's holiness as much more lofty than when we began. And, as that happens, we will see the ugliness of our sinfulness more and more clearly.
If I am converted from a life of sin and darkness to a life in Christ, what is the evidence. In part two of this series we look at the final five evidences that we are truly converted and committed to being a disciple of Jesus.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

5. "By the term 'perseverance of the saints' we mean that if a person is once saved he is always saved and can never slip from God's saving grace. When we confess the perseverance of the saints we confess that there are no ifs or buts about the certainty of our salvation. What a glorious comfort the knowledge of this fact brings to the one who is a Christian. For he can know that if he really has put his trust in Jesus as Savior, then he can never slip away and be lost, whether because of his own sinful weakness and tendency to unbelief, or because of the wiles of the Devil" (Dr. Edwin H. Palmer, The Five Points of Calvinism, p. 59).

Editor's Notes
John Calvin(1509-1564) French lawyer-turned-theologianFounder of CalvinismOriginal Flower ChildKnown for Tulip Theology
"Total depravity”: All inherit sin genetically from Adam. Everyoneis born in sin and has a “sinful nature.” From our first breath, we are “bad to the bone.”"Unconditional election": God chose from eternity the individuals He will save. He chose one and rejected another, and there is nothing either can do about it."Limited atonement": Jesus‘ death only atoned for the individuals God had already chosen to be saved. God could have elected everyone and used it to atone for them all, but He chose not to, and limited the atonement to those He had already decided to save."Irresistible grace": The people God has chosen are incapable of resisting God’s grace. When God purposes to save someone, that individual will be saved, regardless of anything he does or fails to do."Perseverance of the saints": Those God has called will continue in faith until the end. Those who apparently fall away either never were saved to begin with, or they will return.
Depravity: Born lost, unless you were one of the lucky ones.Arbitrary: No rhyme, nor reason, why God chose you & rejected me. You’re no better & I’m no worse.Inequitable: Jesus could have atoned for everyone, but God said “No, only for the few.Systemic coercion: If chosen, God forces you in; if not chosen, “Oh, well …”Yoked confinement: If saved, there’s nothing you, nor anyone else, can do about it; likewise, if lost.No real security for believer. Appears good news for those in the church – maybe not: if not chosen, you will fall away, showing that you were never chosen. No motivation for evangelism. Appears bad news for those outside – maybe not: if chosen, you will find your way in the end. So, why evangelize?
Jacob Arminius (1560-1609) rejected Calvinism. We would find Arminius’ views similar to our own:Humans possess free will to accept or reject salvation.Salvation is possible only by God's grace, which cannot be merited. No works of human effort can cause or contribute to salvation.God's election is conditional on faith in the sacrifice and Lordship of Jesus Christ.Christ's atonement was made on behalf of all people.God allows his grace to be resisted by those who freely reject Christ.Believers are able to resist sin but are not beyond the possibility of falling from grace through persistent, unrepented-of sin.
Dutch Reformed churches (Calvinist) had a synod to repudiate the views of Arminius.
John 3:16 NIV, NAS, etc. makes it sound like an indicative, when it is really a subjunctive, as in ESV.
Note what Jesus said to the church in Ephesus, which was doctrinally sound and which wouldn’t tolerate false teachers or teachings.
Mat 13:47-50 NIV "Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish.(48) When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away. (49) This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous (50) and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Note this is what the “kingdom of heaven is like” and that even within the kingdom, not every fish in the net is saved!

Luk 12:40-46 NLT You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected." (41) Peter asked, "Lord, is that illustration just for us or for everyone?" (42) And the Lord replied, "A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them. (43) If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward. (44) I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns. (45) But what if the servant thinks, 'My master won't be back for a while,' and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk? (46) The master will return unannounced and unexpected, and he will cut the servant in pieces and banish him with the unfaithful.
