This document provides an overview of the 100 Easy Lessons supplemental reading program. It is a scripted, systematic phonics program based on Reading Mastery I and II. The program teaches sounds in a carefully sequenced order and includes sound practice, blending, word reading, and sentence/passage reading. Instruction is highly teacher-directed using focus, wait time, cues, and confirmation. Sounds are taught using unique orthography and are differentiated as continuous or stop sounds. The program teaches reading words by sounding them out slowly then quickly. It also teaches "funny words" by moving down the letters without sounding and reading quickly.
