1) The document is a newsletter from Rossville Church discussing an upcoming picnic and cancelling the evening service.
2) It references a Bible passage about David gathering distressed men who were in debt or bitter and becoming their captain. The passage is used to say churches should minister to the weak rather than only wanting "a better class of people".
3) The document encourages being patient with others as God is patient with us and never quitting on God, as He never quits on us.
This week's sermon focuses on the tall end of Hebrews chapter 11 which gives a catalog of many of the great Old Testament heroes, mostly from the Book of Judges and the early monarchy. In this study we see that great heroes of the faith often had bad starts and shaky middles, but ultimately finished strong.

'Tester: Get Out Of Your Cave!' by Jan Jaap CannegieterTEST Huddle
The levels 2 and 3 of TMMi, the successor of TMM, are launched in 2008. By now, the company of the presenter performed almost 20 assessments, most informal assessments. Assessments where performed in telecom, utilities, financial services and (semi) government. The first conclusions about the maturity of testing (in the Netherlands) can be drawn.
In the presentation the structure of TMMi will be introduced briefly, as well as the way the assessments where done. Then the results will be presented, as well as the conclusion. The overall picture is that test process improvement is something testers do in there cave. To improve testing rigorous we have to get out of our cave. At the end of the presentation instructions are given how to do this.
The stone age remainings in Kerala is pretty interesting artefacts to all archaeologists in the world. The reality is still the research on it didn't done properly and the full history of ancient civilization in Kerala is unknown. Some of the sites like Edakkal Caves, Muniyaras or dolmens in Marayur are preserved well here in Kerala for tourism purpose only. See the slide show of these interesting spots in Kerala.

5th message in a series about lessons learned from the life of King David
Spurgeon's Treasury of David, “Title. "A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his Son." You will remember the sad story of David's flight from his own palace, when in the dead of the night, he forded the brook Kedron, and went with a few faithful followers to hide himself for awhile from the fury of his rebellious son.
Division. This Psalm may be divided into four parts of two verses each. Indeed, many of the Psalms cannot be well understood unless we attentively regard the parts into which they should be divided. They are not continuous descriptions of one scene, but a set of pictures of many
kindred subjects. As in our modern sermons, we divide our discourse into different heads, so is it in these Psalms. There is always unity, but it is the unity of a bundle of arrows, and not of a single solitary shaft.
It is worthy of our tliought how much
tlie world would lose if the little 23rd
Psalm had never been written. Think what a
ministry this psalm has had these three thousand
years, as it has gone down the world,
singing itself into men's hearts, and breathing
its quiet peace into their spirits. How many
sorrows has it comforted! How many tears has
it dried! IIow many miseries has it lighted
through life's dark valleys! Perhaps no other
single portion of the bible — not even the 14th
of St. John's gospel is read so often.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

3. 1 Samuel 22 1 David therefore departed thence
(Gath), and escaped to the cave Adullam: and
when his brethren and all his father's house heard
it, they went down thither to him.

4. 2 And everyone that was in distress, and everyone
that was in debt, and everyone that was discon-
tented (bitter), gathered themselves unto him; and
he became a captain over them: and there were
with him about four hundred men.
There's a lesson here for the church.
Too often churches want "a better class of people".
Good solid Christians
Not weak people who stumble around
4
5. But God sent David men in distress, the debtors,
the bitter and discontented.
These are the people who
need a church and good
spiritual leadership.
They need a church family who will love them and
be patient with them as they struggle and grow.
May we be that
church family!
5
6. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to
breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your
teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless,
tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden
door!"
Emma Lazarus’ Famous Poem A poem by Emma Lazarus is graven
on a tablet within the pedestal on which the statue stands.
6
8. Regardless of their past
Come to us ye tired and weak,
Jesus will make you strong.
Come singing, "Just as I am"
You will soon be singing, "I've been changed
from right to wrong." 8
9. 2 And everyone that was in distress, and everyone
that was in debt, and everyone that was discon-
tented (bitter), gathered themselves unto him; and
he became a captain over them: and there were
with him about four hundred men.
These became a band of men who stood by David
for many years through hard trials and tribulations.
Let's pray that God will gives us the Wisdom and
the Power of His Holy Spirit
to minister to such folks, and lead them into
spiritual maturity.
9
10. Romans 5 6 For when we were yet without strength,
in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For
scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet per-
adventure for a good man some would even dare to
die. 8 But God commendeth His Love toward us, in
that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by His
Blood, we shall be saved from wrath thru Him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were
reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much
more, being reconciled, we shall be saved (preserved,
made whole) by His Life.
10
11. God didn't wait until we had gotten our lives
straightened out and were looking good --
Before He paid the price to save us.
And God is patient with His children, giving us
time and opportunity to grow and learn to live.
God will never quit on us, because He loves us.
We must never quit on God.
We must be patient with all of His children,
as He is patient with us.
11
12. 3 And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he
said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my
mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till
I know what God will do for me. 4 And he brought
them before the king of Moab: and they dwelt with
him all the while that David was in the hold (stronghold).
David's great grandmother was Ruth, a Moabite
woman, who married an Israelite -- Boaz.
So they were distant kin, though not worshippers
of the True and Living God.
12
13. While David was living safely in the Cave of
Adullam, his mama and daddy were safe in Moab.
But this is not taking him closer to being king.
5 And the prophet Gad said unto David, Abide not
in the hold; depart, and get thee into the land of
Judah. Then David departed, and came into the
forest of Hareth.
The forest of Hareth was east of Adullum, in
the land of Judah.
13
14. There is a lesson here for us.
There is a time for dwelling in safety and comfort
for God's children.
Psalms 46:1 (KJV) 1 God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
14
15. But just as God told David to leave the Cave of
Adullum and venture out into the Forest of Hareth,
There comes a time when we must leave
our zone of comfort and venture out,
doing exploits in the Power of God.
15
16. "Voice Of Truth"
Oh what I would do to have the kind of faith it takes to
climb out of this boat I'm in, onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone to the realm of the un-
known where Jesus is, and He's holding out His Hand
But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh
at me; reminding me of all the times I've tried before
and failed.
The waves they keep on telling me Time and time
again. 'Boy, you'll never win!' "You'll never win"
16
17. But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story
And the Voice of Truth says "Do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of Truth says "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me, I will choose to
listen and believe the Voice of Truth.
O what I would do to have the kind of strength it takes
to stand before a giant with just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
shaking in their armor, wishing they'd have had the
strength to stand
17
18. But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at
me, reminding me of all the times I've tried before and
failed. The giant keeps on telling me time and time
again "boy, you'll never win! "You'll never win"
But the stone was just the right size to put the giant on
the ground. And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them looking down.
I will soar with the wings of eagles when I stop and
listen to the sound of Jesus singing over me --
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth.
18
19. When the waves of life
seem overwhelming:
Financial waves,
Marital waves,
Temptations to sin,
Jesus is right there, in the midst of the storm,
And He is singing over us with His arm
stretched out to help us walk on the waves.
Will you let Him help?
Let Him take your hand and walk with you? 19
