example.
Here, we see 2 apples in the first basket and 6 apples I the second basket, how
many apples are there together ? Let’s count them. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. Ok, we get the answer.
The sum of two apples and 6 apples is 8.

Hello Guys, today I will explain the materials about using number line to find the
total or sum of two or more numbers together. Let us look at an example. We will do
addition using a number line. We will use it to find the sum of 1 and 5. The first we start
at 1, and now we will jump 5 numbers to the right.
Let’s count together, 1,2,3,4,5. Now we get the answer. What is it ? Ok you’re
right. The answer is 6.

2. 3. Vertical Addition with Caryying

Hello Guys, today I will present to you Vertical addition with carrying. We will
lay to add two two digit numbers together with the sum involves carrying. Ok, we will
use the written method, the written method is called the column method.
For example, I have question like this, I have 16 apples and then Gatot gives me
27 apples. So how to the column method for 16 plus 27 ?
We will lay out like this, 16 plus 27. You can write 16 on 27, and give it’s 2
column denoted plus. First you can devide it into 2 column like this. The first volumn we
called it units column, and the second column we called it tens column. Do you
remember it ? I think yes. Ok, I will write in here 16 plus 27. The first is we will use the
calculation for units column. 6 plus 7, 6 plus 7equals 13. But however you can’nt write
13 in here. It’s wrong anda what will we do ? we will split 13 in to two. 1 and 3, and you
can write 3 because 3 is the units. So you can write in here. So what will you do with 1 ?
we can write 1 underneath like this. A little 1, and now we will go to second column. It’s
tens column. So 1 plus 2 equals 3. But remember that you have 1. A little underneath that
you can write in here. So, 3 plus 1 is 4. Anda then you write 4 in here. Now we get the
answer, 16 plus 27 equals 43.
