3. Past forms of Regular Verbs
If a verb ends in _e, _d is added. Examples: love: she loved; close: he closed.
If a verb ends in _y, preceded by a consonant, the _y is changed to _i and _ed is added. Examples:
study: we studied; copy: they copied.
If a verb ends in a single consonant preceded by a single vowel, the consonant is doubled and _ed is
added. Examples: stop: stopped.
4. Irregular Verbs: Has a special form in the past. S + Ppal Verb (past form) + C.
