38. WOMEN SAFETY MEASURES
INITIATED
• As per Tamil Nadu Government norms each class of girl
students has a female staff-guardian, who monitors and
interacts with them. In case of any problems like Eve-
teasing, they counsel the students and bring it to the
notice of the grievance redressal cell.
• It is mandatory for all the students to wear ID card. This
is to identify strangers and ultimately ensure the safety of
girl students.
• Whenever the girls undertake study tour/attend the inter-
collegiate programmes, it is mandatory that girls are
accompanied by a women staff escort for their safety. The
college management bears the TA/DA of the women
escorts.
39. • Availability of College bus exclusively for girl students
and women staff.
• Rest Rooms for girls and women staff.
• A department level Grievance Redressal Cell is
functioning.
• Organizes many programmes to sensitize the girl
students on the existence of Grievance Redressal Cell
and highlight about the safety measures.
• The college has spacious laboratories which are of
standard sizes so that women students can be
accommodated comfortably and there is ample space
for the students to do practicals conveniently

organized a talent show which sensitized girls on
important women issues.
• The Department of Commerce (CA) helps the
girls to apply through on-line on scholarships like
single girl, merit, Moulana Azad etc. This helps
the rural students where browsing centres are not
available.
• The Department of Commerce (CA/EC/SF) is
running a separate Cell for the women to take care
of their health and nutrition.
