Introduction
Teacher starts the lesson with a sentence and its explanation about how the
sentences are joined using a Conjunction..
Development
· Teacher writes some sentences on the board.
· Teacher then explains how to join two sentences with the word ‘but’
1. Anish is rich .He is unhappy
Anish is rich, but he is unhappy
2. In the first sentence, we are told that Anish is rich. We expect rich
people to be happy .Anish ,however is unhappy .So the joining word
‘but’ has been used to tell us that even though Anish is rich ,he is
unhappy.
Practice
Teacher asks them to do the exercises given to them
Teacher asks them to classify the conjunction according to
their meaning
Checking for Understanding
Teacher gives each group three pictures and asks them to form one
sentence using Conjunctions
Closure
Teacher sums up the role of Conjunctions in English as a part of Speech.
Teacher asks them to do the exercise as homework.
