2. Spojená škola
◦ Spojená škola in Ružomberok has a long lasting tradition in this region.
◦ It‘s been functioning for over 70 years and preparing it‘s students in many professional
oriented subjects so they can apply them in future.
◦ A good label has been spread by hundreds of successful absolvents, not only across Slovakia,
but abroad as well.
3. Management of tourism
◦ It‘s a four-yearlong study ended with the final maturita
exams.
◦ The absolvents are qualified employees, organizers,
coordinators, salesmen, etc.
◦ Practical lessons teach us great communication and
manual skills in all divisions of tourism.
◦ We‘re taught two foreign languages, which of primary is
English, secondary is selectable – German or Russian.

5. First year
◦ First year of practical study is dedicated to travelling and getting to know our country and
nature within.
◦ We travelled around Slovakia, but mainly in our region called „Liptov“.
◦ We‘ve visited many landmarks, such as:
◦ Old Korytnica spa
◦ Gothic church Ludrová
◦ Hydroplant in Ľubochňa, there we also visited Ľubochňa valley
◦ UNESCO World Heritage – Vlkolínec village
◦ Likava castle
◦ Congress in Incheba, Bratislava
6. First year

7. Second year
◦ Second year of practical study is dedicated to creating a business plan.
◦ Some of us got to visit Schkeuditz, Germany and stay there for whole three weeks.
◦ The business plan consisted of us creating our own Ltd. (limited liability company).
◦ We created our own label, logo, we had fictional employees, trades, expenses and sales.
◦ In Germany, we learnt to use some of the business related programs, databases, we were
doing paperwork.
◦ We also got to travel across the eastern side of Germany.
9. Third year
◦ Third year consisted of our class creating a
fictional Inc. (Incorporated).
◦ We sold 93%/100% stocks (1% = 1€) which
was used to buy material for further
production of our products. ◦ We named our Inc. „MERKÚR“ after the
roman god Mercury (god of market and
profit).
10. Fourth year
◦ In the fourth year, every Monday we work, have our practical lessons outside of school zone.
◦ Under normal conditions, we‘d have our practical lessons in travel agencies in our town,
however during the ongoing Corona pandemic, we‘re have to work a stable position – help
giver in an insurance company, public library, offices, etc.
