Process : Process of finding multiplication and division in different
equation .

The pupil will be able to:-
1) recall the term multiplication and division .
2) recognise the number multiplication table .
3) identify the conceptof multiplication and division in equation .
4) give illustration for multiplication and division in equation .
5) explain the term multiplication and division in equation .
6) detect error while finding multiplication and division in equation.
7) suggest a different method to find the multiplication and division to a given equation .
8) discuss the problem of multiplication and division with other students.
9) ask questions to know more about multiplication and division .
10) observe all aspects of equation keenly.
11) does oral and written calculations with speed and accuracy.
12) plan to do problem on multiplication and division.
Pre – requisites : The students have knowledge on multiplication
table and division.

i) Do you know multiplication table ?
teacher asks the students .
ii) what is the answer of 9*7 ?
iii) what is 48 is divided by 6 ?
Teacher leads the students to the topic
through these type of questions.

Teacher asks a question to the students .
i) In an investment scheme , the amount Pupil think and some one get
deposited double in 6 years . To get back
10000 Rupees finally , how much money
should be deposit now ?
Teacher explain the answer 10000 is Double the
investment , so the investment should be half of
10000 that is 5000.
Teacher ask another question to the whole
Class.
Students says ‘ yes’.
pupil says the answer.
pupil replied the answer 8
Pupil think and some one get the answer
Pupil understand the answer
i) Four people divided the profit they got
from vegetable business and Jose got one
thousand 500 rupees . what is the total
profit?
Teacher explains and write the answer
on the black board.
Number of people = 4
Jose got the profit = 1500
So total profit is 4 times 1500
That is, 1500*4 = 6000

Teacher divides the whole class into 6
Pupil discuss and try to find the answer
Students understand the answer and
copies the answer on the notebook
Groups and give paper-cut-outs which consisting the
question
“ In a company , the manager’s salary is Five
times that of a peon . the manager gets 40000 rupees a
month .How much does a peon gets a month ?
Teacher asked one of the group members to read the
answer.
Teacher writes the answer on black board.
Manager’s salary = 40000
Peon’s salary = 40000 /5
=8000

Teacher gave another question and ask them to
write the answer on their note book individually.
“ The travellers of a picnic split equally the 5200
rupees spent. Each gave 1300 rupees . How many
travellers were there? ”
Teacher asks one of them to write the answer on the
black board .
One of the students writes the answer on the
blackboard.
Total spent = 5200
Each gave rupees = 1300
Number of travellers =5200/1300
= 4
Pupil tries to find the answer
through discussion .
All the group gave the correct
answer .
Pupil read the question carefully
and tries to find the answer.

Learning Outcomes The pupil will be able to:- 1) recall the term multiplication and division . 2) recognise the number multiplication table . 3) identify the conceptof multiplication and division in equation .
  • 2. 4) give illustration for multiplication and division in equation . 5) explain the term multiplication and division in equation . 6) detect error while finding multiplication and division in equation. 7) suggest a different method to find the multiplication and division to a given equation . 8) discuss the problem of multiplication and division with other students. 9) ask questions to know more about multiplication and division . 10) observe all aspects of equation keenly. 11) does oral and written calculations with speed and accuracy. 12) plan to do problem on multiplication and division. Pre – requisites : The students have knowledge on multiplication table and division. Teaching learning : Usual classroom aids , paper –cut- out Resourses Learning strategies : Group discussion , individual work, observation,activity and explanation by the teacher.

Classroom interaction procedure Expected pupil response Introduction Activity 1 i) Do you know multiplication table ? teacher asks the students . ii) what is the answer of 9*7 ? iii) what is 48 is divided by 6 ? Teacher leads the students to the topic through these type of questions. Presentation Activity 2 Teacher asks a question to the students . i) In an investment scheme , the amount Pupil think and some one get deposited double in 6 years . To get back 10000 Rupees finally , how much money should be deposit now ? Teacher explain the answer 10000 is Double the investment , so the investment should be half of 10000 that is 5000. Teacher ask another question to the whole Class. Students says ‘ yes’. pupil says the answer. pupil replied the answer 8 Pupil think and some one get the answer Pupil understand the answer
  • 4. i) Four people divided the profit they got from vegetable business and Jose got one thousand 500 rupees . what is the total profit? Teacher explains and write the answer on the black board. Number of people = 4 Jose got the profit = 1500 So total profit is 4 times 1500 That is, 1500*4 = 6000 [BB] Activity 3 Teacher divides the whole class into 6 Pupil discuss and try to find the answer Students understand the answer and copies the answer on the notebook

Groups and give paper-cut-outs which consisting the question “ In a company , the manager’s salary is Five times that of a peon . the manager gets 40000 rupees a month .How much does a peon gets a month ? Teacher asked one of the group members to read the answer. Teacher writes the answer on black board. Manager’s salary = 40000 Peon’s salary = 40000 /5 =8000 [BB] Activity 4 Teacher gave another question and ask them to write the answer on their note book individually. “ The travellers of a picnic split equally the 5200 rupees spent. Each gave 1300 rupees . How many travellers were there? ” Teacher asks one of them to write the answer on the black board . One of the students writes the answer on the blackboard. Total spent = 5200 Each gave rupees = 1300 Number of travellers =5200/1300 = 4 Pupil tries to find the answer through discussion . All the group gave the correct answer . Pupil read the question carefully and tries to find the answer.
  • 6. [BB] Closure Activity 5 Teacher summerizes the class by telling the concept of multiplication and division. Review Activity 6 Each group is asked to form questions on Multiplication and division and ask the other group . Follow Up Activities i) A number multiplied by 12 gives 756 what is the number ? ii) A number divided by 21 gives 756.what is the number. Students prepare questions an ask to another group.
