Preliminary Evaluation
Cover and Contents
We were asked to produce a cover and contents page for a college magazines for students, I
completed both tasks on publisher. Within both contents and cover pages I used photos I
took myself of students around the school doing their daily activities. On both contents and
cover page I used the main colour of blue through out to create the concept of a theme. The
contents page consists of three images taken by me as well as two social media logos taken
from the internet and more information on how to contact the magazine. Furthermore on
the cover page it has two images also taken by me.
Cover The similarities between
my magazine front cover
and real magazine front
covers is that: the title is
large and near the top of
the page, images cover
the whole page, the
date the magazine was
issued and main articles
are on he edge of the
front cover. The
differences between my
magazine front covers
and real magazine front
covers: most front
covers only have one
large image covering the
whole page where as my
magazine has two
images.
The strengths of my
photographs: clear
images and they are
good quality. The
weaknesses of my
photographs: they are
not medium shot
photos
In real magazines the
photos are done with
professional make up
and lighting and also
on real magazine
front covers they have
barcodes as well as
different sized texts,
normally main
important articles
would be larger than
less important articles
ContentsThe numbers are
large meaning
people can read
the article they
want quickly, near
the bottom of the
page there is a way
for people to
contact the
magazine as well as
get more
information from
the magazine.
The
weaknesses are
that the colour
of the text of
the information
of the article is
too bright this
means that
people will not
be able to read
the text.
