2. ProcessHere on this slide I used the shade tool too make the
picture black and white and dark in areas to give that
haunted vibe for my horror film. As well as that, I
used the contrast tool brighten the edges and the
end of the silver rack as it gives the haunted vibe as it
is dark and the light from the camera brightens the
shot which gives a eerie feel to the picture. I also
used the overlay tool on photoshop to make the top
edges and bottom edges very dark to give that
spooky, haunted aroma of the scenery and film
settings.
However on this slide the picture is bright
and the light is making the picture clear
and less frightening or haunted as there is
no dark shades or shadows to give a
horror feel for my movie which is a scary,
horror film so I will need dark, haunted
looking pictures to help it be dark,
mysterious and spooky.
3. Process
On this slide I used the raindrops overlays tool
to give a dark, rainy effect as rain gives a sense
of horror and tension. As well as that, it pulls
the audience in to why this effect has been
used and makes them want to watch more of
the film to find out what will happen next.
Also, the close up shot changes the fabric of
the scene, by altering our perception of their
importance.
This slide on the other hand is less
effective for a horror film and is the
original close up picture which makes
the audience feel in the movie with the
close up shot but the colours are boring
and dull so if you want to watch a dark
horror film then the scenes also have to
be eerie and haunted to make you want
to watch more which this picture isn’t.
4. Process
On this slide the scene is black and white which
gives an ancient atmosphere to the scene as old
horror film would use black and white as it makes
it more dark and thrilling as then any blood
related scenes on knives, shirts or on the floor will
be black and white so it make the viewer ponder
as to what that scene looks like in real life or what
type of scenery it is filmed in. I used the infrared
tool to make it old and grey in certain areas and I
also used the exposure tool which made the bins
stand out and more dark and focused on them.
This is the original photo which is too bright
and the colours of everything are easy to see
which is not good to use if making a horror
film as the best horror films have most close
up shots and scary scenes in black and white
as then it focuses on that exact part and
makes u create a scenario of what is going on
in the scene and it drags u in which also gives
a more horror twist to it.
5. Process
On this slide the picture is boring as the
lighting is clear and the little hallway is
visible to see but is still just plain black
which isn’t as scary as the white lighting
makes it look a bit more brighter than it
is so isn’t linked to the horror vibe and
feel which I am trying to portray.
On this scene however the room is fully
pitch black and gives that haunted feel as
the orange is like fire bursting through
the window panes. Also, the orange
through the panes symbolises horror
such as festivals linked with horror such
as Halloween I used the overlays W10
contrast tool to get that orange hazy
effect as if it was fire burning through the
window panes.
6. Process
Here I have made the image black and
white with a lighter contrast in the
middle to bring out the leaves dark,
dry colours. Also, the little sharp
branches make the plant seem
wicked, brutal and old as the leaves
are falling off and the branches are
rotting away giving a unearthly feel to
it as you are walking past .
On this picture however this is
different as it is more bright and
you can tell what the image is as
it is lit up to be easily seen and
the colours burst into your face
and can be clearly seen
compared to the picture above.
