2. The age of my target audience will be around the 16-
25 year old mark. This is because I know more people
around this age than any other and I know what their
preferences will be and what they like. Also, these
aged people generally have more spare time than
others and also have more money to spend on things
like this, not having the responsibilities of older
adults and therefore more copies will be sold. The
genre of my magazine will attract a massive age
range due to the variety in artists but my particular
magazine will target specifically 16-25 year olds.
3. My magazine will be mostly targeted at the male
audience because the drum and bass industry is
mainly dominated by males. This makes the genre of
magazine more appealing to men and boys although
it will be kept open to female buyers and readers. I am
male myself and also a fan of drum and bass music
so I know what I would like to see which will help me
in the creation of my magazine.
4. The occupation of my audience can not be pinpointed
specifically but the types of jobs my audience may be
undertaking are more working class jobs such as builders
or electricians, for example. My magazine won’t be aimed
at people working in higher class jobs such as
management jobs, although certain people within that job
area may decide to buy and read the magazine. The wider
range of occupations my magazine caters for will
hopefully increase the amount of copies sold. Students
with jobs in places such as Cafes and restaurants, for
example, will also be targeted.
5. Class E
This class is for students with a lack of income. They
do not have the responsibilities of older adults and
therefore rely on their parents mostly. I have chosen to
target this class because I am classed as being in this
class and therefore will know what they will be
looking for. Also I will be able to call upon my peers
for interviews and questionnaire results, as they are
in the same class.
