2. Introduction
➢ As you know, Turia is a village of the commune with the same name. This village is localized in the west
part of Covasna county, in Tîrgu Secuiesc depression.
➢ At Turia, live about four thousand inhabitants, with a majority of Hungarians nationality. From a
religious point of view, most are Roman Catholic religions, but there is considerable number of
reformed believers.
➢ This area offers a moderate, tonic, stimulating climate.
➢ The air is strongly ozonated, which is a natural factor for cures.
➢ The waters in the area are sulphurous carbogazoase feruginoase calcic hypotomes, being indicated in
the healing of many diseases.

altitude of 595 m, surrounded
by the Bodoc in the S-V part
and Harghita mountains in
the Nord part and Tîrgu
Secuiesc depression at the
Est, on the county road 113
from Târgu Secuiesc - Bixad.

5. A Short brief of history
➢ Several historical remains discovered during archaeological excavations attest to being inhabited
since ancient times.
So:
- the two Dacian square dwellings were dated to the Dacian population of the sec. IV-III i.e. n.;
- Ceramic fragments belonging to the Schneckenberg and Wietenberg cultures have also been
discovered.;
- In the Telek area, a settlement from the first Iron Age was found, overlapped in the 11th - 12th
centuries.;
- Bálványos Fortress is a special historic place in the area. It is composed of a square shaped
dungeon, built with stones enclosures dating back to the 13th - 14th centuries.
➢ Historical examples are countless, but the first documentary attestation of the locality dates back to
1307.

As I mentioned, Turia is beyond the southern slope of the Bodoc Mountains in the bend of the Carpathians at
an altitude of 840m-950m. Due to the therapeutic qualities of the numerous mineral springs and post volcanic
emeralds, the resort offers guests the conditions of a holiday and the attractive landscape of the surrounding
mountains and excellent possibilities for treatments.
