This document discusses a simulation game being developed to teach players about the K-Pop music industry. The game allows players to take on the role of a trainee at an entertainment academy, undergoing the process of becoming a K-Pop idol through attending classes, developing skills, and interacting with other characters. By gamifying the idol training process, the game aims to educate players about the industrialization, hybridization, and globalization of the K-Pop industry in an interactive and entertaining way compared to traditional textbooks.

entertainment. Over the years, as technology
has advanced so have video games.
 Video games can be played on a range of
platforms, from computers, to tablets, to the
traditional T.V. systems.
 Video games have also developed into a
product that can entertain as well as teach.

3.  A game has been developed that will help to
show the Korean Pop idol making process.
 The type of game is a simulation that
provides an interactive learning environment
centered around some of the history of the
K-Pop industry and the spread of the Hallyu
Wave.
 Through the use of the game the goal is to
teach the player about hybridization,
industrialization, and globalization found in
K-Pop.

4.  Unlike traditional means like a textbook a
web based game provides an interactive
medium that allows the player to be
entertained while learning.
 Since the player is the one deciding their
actions they are deciding what parts of the
idol making process they will learn.
 This provides a semi-non-linear aspect that
reading a textbook does not provide.

the K-Pop industry
began with Lee
Suman.
 Some aspects of his
industrialization
included: cloning
talent and groom
pop stars.
 The player is a
trainee at an
academy that hones
the skills of its
students to make
them K-Pop stars.

7.  The process of this industrialization means
the player must go through certain activities.
 The player must attend classes, take quizzes,
and form bonds with other characters, with
the hopes of not only graduating but also
eventually debuting in a group.
 They also must develop their skills of
dancing, singing, acting, and interacting with
NPC’s (non playable character).

8.  Each skill is represented as a stat
 Certain stats increase based on what the
player chooses to do in game and determine
what happens next.
 Other features provide the player access to a
town with features that allow them to buy
clothing, food, and other materials.
 Another feature allows for the player to
monitor their fame internationally via the net
and media.
