Management By Objectives (MBO)
 Management by objectives or results
management is a process of planning,
motivating and controlling in which the
resources of the organization are focused on
achieving the key objectives stated in the
organization’s overall goals.
Advantages of MBO
 Organizational planning is more readily achieved;
long range plans become actualized through
highly coordinated derived goals.
 Communication is facilitated throughout the
organization.
 Performance is monitored as an aspect of control
where individual performance is assessed.
