The artist took multiple photos of his subject in different poses and facial expressions to choose the best image for the album cover and poster that represented the genre of music well. While some photos had gloomy lighting that may give a negative impression, the chosen photo centered the smiling artist to accurately portray the type of upbeat music and leave space to add text without disturbing the photo.

2. These are the original images I shot for my front cover
and the image for my poster. I had my artist standing in
different positions and to have different facial
expressions so I could choose the best one that
represented the genre well.
I like the different colours that are brought out in the
photos and the fact that he is centralised bringing focus
to the artist and his guitar.
In some of the images the lighting is quite gloomy and
dark which I don’t think presents the artist or his music
well, since the audience may see this as negative or
depressing and may assume his music is of this style
and may be put off by the front cover.
I chose to use the photo (on the next page) because I
managed to completely centralise the artist, and though
it is a long shot, his facial expression can still be seen.
The fact that he’s smiling/laughing represents the type
of music and artist I am trying to represent.
The image being a long shot leaves enough space for me
to edit the title and information into the poster without
disturbing the photo and the artist in the centre.
