The document compares and contrasts the story Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves and the Disney movie Aladdin. Both involve poor protagonists who steal treasure from a cave. They have some animals as companions and narrowly avoid death. However, Aladdin features a genie who grants wishes, while Ali Baba requires a spoken password to enter the cave. Aladdin also includes musical numbers, while Ali Baba does not. Overall, the author found Aladdin more engaging due to its greater details and visual nature.

The story Ali Baba and the Forty Theives and the movie
Aladdin have many similarities and differences. I am comparing them
to see if the story Aladdin is better than Ali Baba and the Forty
Theives.
One similarity is that they both have the treasure hidden in a
rock type cave. When they walk into the cave there is treasure
everywhere. They also both took some which means that they are
both theives.
Another similarity is that they both Aladdin and Ali Baba are
very poor. I know that they are poor because they both steal stuff so
they may live. Ali Baba stole treasure and Aladdin stole treasure and
food.
Another similarity is that they both have animals. Although
they have different animals. Ali Baba has a donkey and Aladdin has a
monkey and the monkey turns into a elephant from the genie.
One last similarity is that they are both supposed to die and
neither of them end up dying. Aladdin was supposed to be hung and
drowned. Ali Baba was supposed to be killed with a dagger, oil, and
get cut into 6 pieces.
A difference is that in Aladdin there is a genie and then in
Ali Baba there is not a genie in the story. The genie in Aladdin grants
Aladdin 3 wishes and also the bad guy wants the genie lamp and in Ali
Baba there isnt even a genie lamp.
Another difference is that in the story Ali Baba there is a
password to get into the cave full of treasure. In Aladdin there is not a
password there is only a key to get in. The password to get in the
cave in Ali Baba is open sesime and close sesime.
Another similarity is that in the story Ali Baba, Ali Baba is
married in the beginning. In the movie Aladdin he is not married in
the beginning but although he does get married at the end on the
story.
One similarity is that there is lots of singing in Aladdin but
in Ali Baba their is no singing. One song that they sing is "One World".
There are alot of similarities and differences. I thought that
this project was pretty fun because it allowed me to find out whether

Aladdin was better because it had more details and it was much
easier to picture.
