1. Compare and Contrast
I compared and contrasted the story Ali Baba and a Walt Disney original
movie Aladdin. They have many similarities and differences. I compared
and contrasted them because I wanted to see how many similarities and
differences i could find.
In both stories the main characters started out poor and ended rich. In the
movie Aladdin, Aladdin starts out very poor, he has to steel to get any food,
but at the end of the movie he marries the princess, Jasmine and becomes
rich. In Ali Baba, Ali Baba starts out as a poor and happy man. Then he
finds a cave full of riches and becomes rich.
In both stories there is magic. In Aladdin the magic is a genie lamp and a
flying carpet. In Ali Baba there are magic words like open sesame and close
sesame to get in the cave.
In both stories there are people trying to kill the main characters. In
Aladdin Jafar is trying too kill Aladdin because Aladdin wants to marry the
princess. In Ali Baba the chief thief is trying to kill Ali Baba for knowing
about the cave and does not want him to steal the riches.
In the stories both end up having wives. Aladdin gets married to the
princess, Jasmine. Ali Baba is already married to a pleasant woman.
In Aladdin there are palaces and castles. Also in Aladdin there is royalty.
In Ali Baba there is no royalty just rich people and poor people that are
separated by money.
In the stories there are different kinds of animals. In Aladdin there are
monkeys tigers and elephants. In Ali Baba there are only donkeys which
everyone had because instead of a car they had donkeys to carry things or
even to ride on.
In the stories there are evil people but way different amounts of evil

2. people. In Ali Baba there are 40 evil people or thieves trying to kill Ali Baba
for knowing where the treasure is and because now Ali Baba can steal or
take that treasure so that means less for the thieves. In Aladdin there is only
one evil person trying to kill Aladdin because Aladdin wants to marry the
princess.
In Aladdin the bad person Jafar wanted to get the genie lamp to become
a king and to be the most powerful person. In Ali Baba the bad people or the
thieves wanted to be rich so they stole the riches from the cave.
Ali Baba and Aladdin had many differences and similarities. I enjoyed
comparing and contrasting the two stories. i think i liked the story Aladdin
better. The lesson in these stories is not to be greedy because if you are
bad things may happen to you.
