The And Skewed State Of The U.s. Health Care
Accountable Care Organizations The patchy and skewed state of the U.S. health care system has become an advocate for payment and delivery system
reforms. Traditional fee–for service (FFS) payment structures increase volume rather than quality care, and lead to a provision of medical services
across the disjointed provider scenery. Despite several attempts to recover care delivery, health care costs continue to escalate. The Accountable
Care Organization (ACO) model seeks to reverse the trends by stimulating a synchronized restructure of the payment and delivery systems to
attract higher quality, lower cost care. In todays' healthcare most people with private insurance today get coverage through their employers. Public
programs provide health care for millions more. Still other people get whatever insurance or other health care services they can afford on their
own. In March 2010, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was signed into law. It was the most extensive reform of America's health care system since
at least the creation of Medicare in 1965. It was a signature piece of legislation for President Obama's first term, and also a ball and chain for his
second. The ACA is divided into 10 different titles as follows: ACOs were created by section 2706 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
to take part in the Medicare Shared Savings Program created under section 3022. An ACO, which can include primary care physicians, specialists,
hospitals or other providers, bears

U.s. The United States
The US Government, along with non–state US actors, has had a long and violent history of involvement in Central and South American politics.
Concurrent US administrations have supported coupes and regime changes in order to achieve immediate goals, or to avoid perceived threats. US
involvement, however, has often been accompanied by negative consequences and atrocities. The US must break from old paradigm in order to
develop a sustainable partnership in the Americas.
As early at the mid–19th century, American entrepreneurs and businessmen became deeply involved in civil struggles in Central America. William
Walker, a US citizen, went so far as to appoint himself president ofNicaragua, until he was ousted by rival US interests (William ... Show more content

The CIA Agent Known as Swat, plus Others, 2016). Disappointed Kirchner supporters accuse the newly appointed Argentine president of supporting a
pentagon takeover of Argentine fresh water reserves (El Hacedor, 2016). Similarly, anti–US propaganda is a main pillar of legitimacy in the Venezuelan
Bolivar government.
In its conception, as a pseudo–leftist totalitarian regime, the Chavez administration sought to consolidate power, and become a word player by
directly opposing US interest in a recreated Cold War like dichotomy. This was in very much in line with the Chavez dream to recreate Cuba in
Venezuela(Cardenas, 2013). Unfortunately for Chavez, his attempts were in a different historical reality than that of Castro. The only thing that he had
to unite this motley crew of unwanted world leaders (Kelly, 2013) was their opposition to the US.
The increasing cubanization (Cardenas, 2013) of Venezuela alienated the most patriotic sectors of society, most notably the military. The Venezuelan
military had been a strong ally to neighboring Colombian forces, as to US forces. Under Chavez the military was ordered to partner with Cuban
military and to support Colombian guerillas (Romero, 2009). Within months of Chavez's election, military leaders began plotting his removal
(Campbell, 2002).
While Venezuelan military leaders planned in the shadows, their intended coup d'etat was an open secret (Campbell, 2002). This allowed Chavez ample

U.s. Federal And State Governments
As a consequence of the Gulf Wars of 1991 and 2003 and the current political unrest in the Middle East, the United States and other western countries
have made no secret of their strategic goal of becoming energy independent. Incidentally, recent advances in hydraulic fracturing – a process used to
extract oil or gas from underground formations – has contributed significantly to achieving that end. According to Terry Engelder (2011), of the
Department of Geosciences at Pennsylvania State University, "There is enough domestic gas to meet our needs for the foreseeable future thanks to
technological advances in hydraulic fracturing" (Howarth, Ingraffia, & Engelder, p. 271). U.S. federal and state governments should continue to permit

Ingraffea, & Engelder, pp. 271–274). The following year, in his State of the Union Address, President Obama (2012) commented, "We have a supply of
natural gas that can last America nearly 100 years." Furthermore, advances in hydraulic fracturing technology have enabled an exponential increase in
U.S. gas production, which had already reached 10 trillion cubic meters by 2012, "turning the United States into an unexpected technology–driven
'petrostate' of a type never seen before" (Golden & Wiseman, 2015, p. 966). Consequently, the United States is now largely energy–independent with
sufficient fuel reserves and the means of production to support its energy needs for the foreseeable future.
An additional benefit of fracking is that natural gas reduces overall greenhouse–gas emissions. As with all fossil fuels, burning natural gas produces
CO2. However, CO2 emissions from natural gas are 50% lower than coal, and between 20% and 30% lower than oil (Howarth, Ingraffea, & Engelder,
2011). Also, the increase in production and availability of fracking–related natural gas has made it an economical alternative to traditional fossil fuels
such as coal and oil for electrical power generation plants. Moreover, the combination of lower CO2 production from natural gas together with its
widespread adoption as a

U.s. Presidential Election On The United States
There will be a U.S. presidential election on November 8, 2016. Whether you identify as a Republican, a Democrat, or somewhere in between, there is
no denying that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are two highly controversial candidates. While it is difficult to tell where most Americans stand on
the election issue, it is easy to see that ancient Chinese Legalist thinkers would be staunch supporters of Donald Trump. Legalist ideas seem to be the
foundation upon which Trump's Republican Party was built. Even Trump's slogan, "Make America Great Again," is echoed in the Legalist notion of
becoming a strong country with impenetrable borders. Though I, along with many Americans, disagree with Trump on many points, histax and welfare
policies seem to be based on logic, especially in the context of Chinese history. However, America is not ready for a president who has illustrated
such a flagrant disregard for the law. Just as the Legalist regime in China was short–lived, so should be Trump's time in the limelight.
Han Feizi and Shang Yang, Legalist thinkers in ancient China, would vote for Donald Trump in the upcoming election. While Feizi, Yang, and Trump
agree on many fundamental points, taxation and welfare policy are the most significant. Feizi stated in his teachings, "now if the ruler levies money
from the rich in order to give alms to the poor, he is robbing the diligent and frugal and indulging the lazy and extravagant. If he expects by such a

U.s. Patent Law And United States Essay
In the United States, both U.S. Patent Law and U.S. " Food and Drug Administration" (FDA) law govern the exclusivity rights for new pharmaceutical
products. As Chinese companies invest research time and money in developing new drugs, it is important to keep in mind both the relevant U.S. patent
law and the applicable FDA law that could affect the exclusivity period for that drug in the United States. Mistakes in not obtaining proper patent
coverage or satisfying the FDA laws could cost the drug company valuable exclusivity rights when that drug is sold in the United States. For a
successful drug, the lost of exclusivity rights usually means the loss of substantial revenue and profit.
How can a drug innovator have exclusivity in the United States without a patent? The FDA will give a five year exclusivity period for a "new
chemical entity" (NCE) used in a drug. What does this mean? During this five year exclusivity period, no other company can submit an "Abbreviated
New Drug Application" (ANDA) to the FDA seeking approval of a drug product containing the NCE. This exclusivity period rewards the innovator
for all of the research and development effort, including expensive clinical tests to show the safety and efficacy of the NCE that must be done to
support a "New Drug Application" (NDA). The five year exclusivity period allows the NDA holder to recoup this investment. Importantly, this
exclusivity occurs regardless of whether or not a U.S. patent has been issued.

In 2005, the Canadian company at first proposed the pipeline, and applied to the U.S State Department for a construction permit in 2008. The
proposed XL pipeline has the same origin and destination as an operational pipe, also called Keystone – granted presidential permit in 2008 by
President George W Bush – but takes a more direct route. The XL pipeline would allow for an increased supply of oil from Canada. The Keystone XL
pipeline is a proposed 1,179–mile (1,897km) pipe that would run from the oil sands in Alberta, Canada, to Steele City, Nebraska, where it could join
an existing pipe. It could carry 830,000 barrels of oil each day.

2)My Policy Recommendations
Introduction:
The American government should think and making hard decision before building the Keystone Pipeline XL that would run 1,179–mile (1,897km) that
across the United States. Why it is hard decision? The project is the national interest that related to economics, environmental, national security and
foreign policy implications. Even though this is a crisscross between Canada and the US, but most of the lands that they are using belong to the
United States. When something bad happen the United States lands will be the one who get polluted the most, and they do not know is the pipe is
safe for a long–term operation. The United States should think for the future, not only the benefits that they will get in the present time.
My Specific Recommendation: Yes, I believe there is good reason why they should approve the Keystone Pipeline XL. Canada it the world's second
largest oil deposit after Saudi Arabia and I what I got from reading the TransCanada website www. keystone

Phoenix, Arizona to Santiago, Chile in a small airplane. I couldn't refrain from dwelling on how crazy we were, especially given the State Department
warning against U.S. citizens visiting Mexico. Up until that point in time, I had never been out of the continental United States. When I was twelve

When I arrived at Scottsdale Municipal Airport, to begin our trip, Miguel had already arrived and unloaded his car. He sat perched in front of a
mountain of personal belongings. Without even exchanging as much as a, "Good morning," we both stood glancing back and forth between his
massive pile and the small plane. When we made eye contact, we both burst out laughing. Obviously, we had way too much to put in the plane. In
addition to sheer volume, we needed to be concerned with Weight and Balance; in other words, total weight and how it's distributed in relation to
the airplane's center of gravity. My weight, Miguel's weight, combined with the weight of the fuel and everything we were taking had to be factored
in. Loading the plane accordingly was essential; otherwise, there existed a danger of the plane becoming uncontrollable or not even being able to
safely take off. Already falling behind schedule and faced with the full day of flying, we needed to make some decisions quickly. Brandishing a pack
of Post–it Notes, Miguel suggested we employ to mark each bag with its weight. Armed with a fish scale and Post–it Notes, we proceeded to weigh and

For example, one of the bags held assorted medicines and extensive medical supplies which had all been purchased based on the

The United States Code ( U.s. )
The United States Code (U.S.C.) "establishes and governs the form, function, duties, and responsibilities of the US Government". The foundational to
US National Security and foreign relations are based on the three titles in the U.S.C, namely, Title 10, Title 22, and Title 50; which "govern US Armed
Forces, the Department of State, public diplomacy efforts, and national defense" (American Security Project, 2012). However, the National Security
Act of 1947 was the first U.S. law on the conduct of intelligence operations. The act established the Central Intelligence Agency "to collect, analyze,
evaluate, and disseminate foreign intelligence to assist the President and senior US government policymakers in making decisions relating to national
security" (Central Intelligence Agency (2013). This intelligence law help to define the roles of policymakers, (Executive Branch oversight, and
Congressional oversight) while making decisions relating to national security; and also defined the scope and functions of intelligence community. For
instance, the President who is the head of the executive branch and commander in chief has the authority to direct military operations and intelligence
activities against external threats resides in his Constitutional executive and commander–in–chief powers (Wall, 2011).
However, Congress has an oversight power over the president intelligence collection power and activities. Article I, Section 8, paragraph 18 of the

United States, U.s. V. Nixon
Not to be confused with Nixon v. United States, U.S. v. Nixon was a crucial case of the
Supreme Court during a time of political scandal. On the night of June 17th, 1972, five men
broke into the Democratic National Committee in an attempt to gain secrets that would help
Nixon win the re–election. The men were found to be connected to Nixon himself. Upon being
caught, all hell broke loose for Nixon's presidency and there was no turning back. Upon further
investigation by Congress, Nixon was committing illegal acts other than that of burglary. It was
discovered that the tapes Nixon used to record his conversations in the Oval Office would be
beneficial in the sense that they contained all the proof needed to impeach the president. The
president argued that this damning information needed not be shared with the community and
was protected by his executive privileges. The entire situation became known as the Watergate
scandal and exploded in popularity with the help of the media. After it was all said and done, the
Supreme Court ruled that Nixon was being unconstitutional. This is undoubtedly true due to the
fact a president is supposed to help a country grow stronger, not tear it apart.
In November of 1968, Richard Nixon, a former vice president, gains the title of president
beating Hubert Humphrey in a strikingly close election. However, his presidency was soon met
with difficulty and scandal. By 1971, the Pentagon Papers had been leaked to the

U.s. The United States
The U.S.A is regarded as one of the countries with the best education systems, in fact, it is for this reason that there is a continuous growth in the
number of international students seeking to study in America. Below you'll find 10 things to remember when applying for American universities in
Nigeria.
1. Limit your search
You can find over 2,000 Universities in the U.S., so limiting your search can present you with an improved chance of having admitted. It will also
save you lots of time and confusion. Decide whether you wish to study in the east or even the west coast or locations the climate is much more
familiar to you personally. This is also a crucial consideration when cost is concerned.
Tuition prices are much higher in big, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is especially true if you 're thinking about a degree in areas like business, IT or engineering.
3. Include less selective schools
About a twenty–five percent of your university target schools should be those that are less selective with regards to admissions of international
students. You should find this by researching about the minimum scores they require on admissions tests. Sure, famous and well–known schools are
always a good choice, but competition is very tough regardless whether you 're an international student or you aren 't.
4. Consider cost
Getting a college degree from among the best universities in the world can be really expensive. An undergraduate institution can account to this by at
least $15,000 to as much as $45,000, including room, board and tuition. If you 're getting a graduate education, expect the price being even higher.
It could also be difficult to get funding for international students since most of the loans, scholarships and grants are to college students who are
already in the USA. Don 't depend on getting a job on US soil to fund your school fees, since there are restrictions in employing foreigners. On–campus
jobs can be nearly impossible to find and they don 't pay much. Expect a maximum of $2,000 on the regular school year with an on–campus job.
5. Take tests
Another major consideration for international students is admissions testing. Every university has its own set of tests and standards which an

Healthcare Reform : The United States ( U.s. )
Healthcare reform in the United States (U.S.), continues to be a hot topic in the news. Whether it discusses how the program will be financed, the
need to redesign the organization, or how the process of delivering healthcare will be implemented; one thing that is a frontrunner, is the need for
registered nurses (RNs) and advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to fill the increased demands on the primary care system (Institute of
Medicine, & Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2011, p. 375). "Several programs and initiatives included in the health reform legislation involve
interdisciplinary and cross–setting care coordination and care management services of RNs" (Institute of Medicine, & Robert Wood Johnson

Moreover, I realized my future as an RN was not guaranteed to be there, unless I pursued an advanced degree in nursing. Of course, this is not the
only reason for continuing my nursing education, it will also enable me to provide more competent care, which leads to better patient outcomes, as
well as, quality and safety of patient care (Mason, Leavitt, & Chaffee, 2014, p. 386). Some of the dilemmas associated with today's nursing force are:
Many are under–educated and task–oriented, unaware of their patient's plan of care, medical histories, or pertinent results. Too many rely on clinical
coordinators and team leaders, when it comes to critical thinking, therefore, miss out on the vital fundamentals, which make nursing such an honorable
profession (Grietens, 2007, p. 10). In order to create a stronger, more knowledgeable nursing workforce, entry–level requirements for RNs, as well as
APRNs, need to be uniform. In addition, research shows bachelors and masters prepared nurses, result in better patient outcomes. An example of a
proposed solution includes: The state nursing boards and nurses propose a policy that mandates minimum requirements for entry–level nurses. Have
ADN–to–BSN bridging programs consistent across the nation. The ADN program would eventually be phased out, with the instructors and facilities
utilized for BSN programs. The program would be piloted in one state to allow critiquing prior

The United States (U.S.) was founded and built by immigrants and refugees from Europe. This tradition continues today with numerous people
immigrating to the U.S. not only from Europe but also from different regions of the world such as Asia, Middle East, South America and Africa.
Immigration has allowed the U.S. to be culturally diverse. With the immigrant 's movement into the U.S., healthcare workers, and the U.S. healthcare

Decision: In this case the court ruled that entrapment was not an issue because neither party attempted to subpoena Kowel in the case of entrapment.
Furthermore, the issue of entrapment was never raised by the trial judge and they were never raised by the parties either. Therefore, the verdict of guilty
was reached and that no harm was done by leaving the question to the jury because according to law, there was no entrapment.
Reasoning: The reason for this was because the trial court should have ruled on the issue of entrapment and not left it up to the jury. Furthermore, the
judge that was hearing the case should have gave a different weight on the evidence in the case and not the evidence that was on record. Therefore, by
doing this and letting the jury conclude then the claim of entrapment could not be sustained and the actual conviction would stand.
Dissenting opinions: For this case there were no dissenting opinions in the case because there was no evidence to entrapment. Therefore, the judges
agreed that the verdict was fair and that the judge in the case had the right to enforce the ruling of entrapment. Furthermore, they felt that no harm was
done in the question to the jury on entrapment.

U.s. Healthcare System : The United States
When it comes to the U.S. healthcare system, there are two sides of the argument. Some Americans may argue that the U.S. healthcare system is the
best in the world given the many state–of–the–art healthcare facilities and innovative and advanced medical technology available, and there are those
who argue that it is too costly and inefficient on many different levels (Chua, 2006). Despite the large amount of spending invested on their healthcare
system, the U.S. consistently underperforms on most indicators of performance compared to other countries (Davis, Stremikis, Squires, & Schoen,
2014). Healthcare costs such as doctor visits, hospital stays, and prescription drugs are more expensive in the U.S. than any other country in the world.

includes programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, S–CHIP, VA, and many others. Medicare is a program that covers individuals who are 65 years and
older and some disabled individuals. It is financed from the federal income taxes that are collected by the government. Part A of the program covers
hospital services, Part B covers physician services, and Part D covers prescription drugs. Because Medicare does not fully cover all the needs of the
elderly such as skilled nursing facilities, dental, hearing, preventative, and vision care, many of the enrollees seek supplementary insurance (Chua,

children, disabled, elderly, parents, and poor pregnant women. Adults who do not have children are not covered. It is optional for states to expand
eligibility, such as increasing income eligibility levels. Medicaid is administered by the District of Columbia and the states, resulting in 51 different

of 19 types of assault weapons, including AK–47s and Uzis. The law expired in 2004. 2007: The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia
rules in favor of Dick Anthony Heller, 66, an armed security guard who sues the district after it rejects his application to keep ahandgun at his home in
Capitol Hill. District appeals to Supreme Court. June 2008: The Supreme Court upholds the lower court ruling, striking down D.C. handgun ban as
unconstitutional. According the changes of gun laws, we can see the law of owning gun and using gun is more and more strict. Also, there are more
and more laws to limit people owning gum and using gun.
Although the laws of gun control are more and more strict, the rate of gun violence and gun crime in the United State are not going down. Many
people think gun control is not the answer for gun violence. For example, the tragedy at Virginia Tech may tell us something about how a young man
could be driven to commit terrible actions, but it does not teach us very much about gun control. So

there have been a lot of changes to improve healthcare. With all of the spending and advancements in health care, the United States is still very

put the United States at the bottom of the list for healthy countries. These numbers have all proven the overall impact that the U.S health care system
has on the economy. In 2017, Current President Donald Trump vowed to make a major change to the ACA that had been placed into law seven years
ago. During this period when Republicans tried to tally the votes needed to make changes the U.S stock markets projected the uncertainty of the votes.
These numbers represented by the U.S economy projected just how big of an impact the health care system can have on the economy.

U.S. Drone Attacks and Pakistan State Sovereignty
U.S. Drone Attacks and Pakistan State Sovereignty According to Sean D. Murphy, U.S. anti–terrorist operations in Pakistan so far have taken the
forms of drone strikes, "hot pursuits" into Pakistani territory in immediate response to raids from within Pakistan, and secret missions by special
operations forces, such as the CIA, against militant targets located deeper in Pakistan . The numbers of incidents involving "hot pursuits" of the
militant hideouts inside the Pakistani territory have been very few, so they have not attracted as much attention as other operations. There has only
been one real recognized covert mission in Pakistan, which took place on September 3, 2008 in South Waziristan , an area under the control of the
Taliban. This was the US' first ground–based battle against the Taliban within Pakistani borders. This caused the death of many civilians and no
"high–value" terrorist target. The Pakistani government strongly criticized this act and passed a resolution demanding American cooperation on covert
operations, so the US did refrain from repeating such a mission; however, the American strikes using Unmanned Areal Vehicles, known as drones, have
been going on since 2004 and have only increased since then under the Obama Administration. The cross–border attacks, especially the drone attacks,
by the Afghanistan–based American forces in the Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) of the northwestern Pakistan are meant to destroy or

tax disclosures. Ironically, what helped lead to Google's creation is the mid–1990s research at Stanford University funded by the U.S. National Science

Google: Compliance with tax laws in countries they operate

Not only that, but it said its investment in various European countries helps their economies. In the U.K., "we also employ over 2,000 people, help
hundreds of thousands of businesses to grow online, and invest millions supporting new tech businesses in East London," said Google in a statement.

The U.S. Department of State and the United States Agency of International Development (USAID) has published five strategic goals.1 Under these
goals they have formulated a total of thirteen objectives to give the strategy a more specific direction. In these strategic objectives there is
representation of Wilsonian, Hamiltonian, Jeffersonian, and Jacksonian ideals. Current U.S. foreign policy certainly has a strong Wilsonian flavor.
However, Wilson's theory alone does not accurately portray U.S. foreign policy in the 21st Century. I will present examples of the other main political
policy ideals and practices (Hamiltonian, Jeffersonian, and Jacksonian) in twenty–first century U.S. foreign relations.
Woodrow Wilsonwas the 28th President of the United States and held the office from 1913–1921. He became known as "the Crusader" and earned the
label for his passionate belief that America should be a beacon of liberty and aggressively pursue the spread of democracy throughout the world.
Wilson felt America could prosper economically and develop a community of international security through the promotion of democracy to other
nations. In his book Diplomacy, Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger says, President Woodrow Wilson's foreign policy (Known as
Wilsonianism), "It is above all to the drumbeat of Wilsonian idealism that American foreign policy has marched since his watershed presidency, and
continues to march to this day."2

as the beginning of a new America. October 7, 2001, when the U.S. entered war in the Middle East in response to the attacks that happened on
September 11th. The attacks on the U.S. were not only the start to the longest war in American history, but also the start of many changes for our
country. Some effects on the states include political changes and new improvements. Ideas to improve our safety included involved security
improvements, new laws and agencies. Although the political effects after 9/11 were the majority of our concerns, the economic aftermath and

With a great nation comes great political power and responsibility played in the upkeep of our states. After the events of 9/11 America's political
side was forever altered. Clearly upset with the Middle East and whom the U.S. believed was responsible foreign affairs had to be looked at. Our
government had put a stop to all communication, trade, travel, and influence from some countries overseas. Our President and congress were
immediately forced to stop all meetings with foreign leaders due to the security regulations of our Department of Defense. Not only was our
government no longer involved with the majority of other countries our citizens also could not travel to these places nor buy from them and all who
were believed to be involved in secret affiliation would be brought to court. Policy with other countries prior to the events was different when looking
at the topic of involvement of the U.S. and others. Before 9/11, the Bush administration had focused its foreign policy attention on China and Russia;
on determining whether a Middle East peace settlement was in the cards; on building a ballistic missile defense system; and on contemplating how to
deal with rogue states such as Iran, Iraq, Libya, and North Korea. At many meetings of the National Security Council, officials debated the pros and
cons of a new sanctions regime against Saddam Hussein 's dictatorial government in Baghdad; they also discussed what would be done if U.S. planes

U.s. Government 's Impact On The United States
The U.S. has suffered from many Natural Disasters from Hurricane Katrina to wildfires in California. When it comes too natural disasters Hurricanes
are by far one of the most devastating. The results can be catastrophic, possibly leaving the death tolls in thousands and leaving millions homeless.
Even though the U.S. has responded to and recovered from Hurricanes, Meteorologists are presently not able to predict them early enough, and the
U.S. government is unprepared financially, and responsively. Being well prepared for a hurricane is critical to saving peoples lives and their
well–being. The government needs to do more not for just hurricanes but any disaster. When it comes to predicting a Hurricane obviously the earlier
it's predicted the better the outcome will be, it will give the government and citizens more time to prepare and evacuate city's or even a state if
necessary. "Once a hurricane has formed, it can be tracked. Scientists can usually predict its path for 3–5 days in advance" (Samsot). Giving a city to a
state possibly only 3 days to evacuate is not long enough for everyone to pack up as many belongings as they can and leave the area. If
meteorologists are able to predict when a hurricane is going to form and project the path the time to prepare will increase significantly. What the
McDonald 2 government needs to do is help Meteorologists be able to predict Hurricanes earlier by helping them get more resources and giving them
a good fund to help them

Nearly every state in the U.S. has adopted a set of educational standards known as Common Core State Standards, or C.C.S.S. (Shanahan, 2015), put
into place in hopes of improving America 's educational system. We have finally recognized the need for our educational system to evolve with our
economy and how vital it is to promote college and career readiness in school–aged children; but, are we going about it all wrong? Uniform
"Standards" are not what our educational system needs to evolve, and have shown no evidence in improving education in America; in fact, we may be
struggling more now than we ever were before. The C.C.S.S has promoted excellence and advancement in common core classes but has also proven to

Money can buy you a lot of things in America, and a good education is one of them.
The lack of funding in public school systems also leads to underpaid and often undereducated teachers. These teachers are often never given the tools
to succeed when such changes like the C.C.S.S. come about. When we fail to continue the education of those who educate our young, we, therefore,
fail to succeed academically as a society. States are not merely missing academic criterion because they have low expectations or no motivation, but
because we are failing to provide them with the necessary tools and resources to educate children at an acceptable level. By promoting standardized
testing, we are essentially setting our children and our future up for failure.
"Standards lay out the major goals that must be accomplished without indicating all the underlying skills or knowledge that must be gained to reach
those goals" (Shanahan, 2015). Although the C.C.S.S outline their goals, they do not provide a plan on how to achieve them, in turn creating huge
problems for educators nationwide. We cannot possibly expect teachers to be able to meet such high standards when we are giving them so little to
work with. There are no government incentives or potential rewards associated with C.C.S.S, "neither the president nor the Department

The Issue Of The United States ( U.s. )
I. Explanation of Issues What is the main problem/question at issue in this article? The main problem at issue in the article is that the United States
(U.S.), as a country, are still largely employing the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to measure the welfare of the nation although the welfare of a
nation can scarcely be inferred from a measurement of national income. What are some of the subsidiary, embebbed, or implicit aspects of the
problem, and what are their relationship to each other? There are also other aspects to the problem. These aspects include: (1) the Congress did not
heed Simon Kuznets's warning about how little GDP is connected to welfare of the nation; (2) Americans only came to know more about limitations of
the GDP in measuring their well–being after Great Recession; and (3) there is the emergence of a suggestion to implement alternative measures that
more accurately reflect the progress of human well–being. These aspects are related to one another. The Congress's initial ignorance led to the eventual
late discovery about how the GDP has its limits. This in turn led to the creation of or debate for other measures of welfare. This shows how the
movement for alternative measures to human well–being is being triggered. This would then introduce the idea of including more factors other than
national income into the measurement of well–being. For instance, according to Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI), the well–being of individuals is
comprised of economic,

U.s. Iranian Negotiations And The United States Essay
United States– Iranian Negotiations
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action has been regarded as the biggest diplomatic failure in the United States history. While this seems to be an over
sensationalized statement, analyzing the dispute system design, cross–cultural negotiation, and resistance points of the deal, may shed further insight
on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and how the United States resolves conflict with Middle Eastern nations.
Historical Context
The relations between the United State's and Iran were amicable throughout the post–World War II. In entering the Cold War, "the United States
negotiated the Baghdad Pact in which an alliance between, Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan was formed." During this era, President Nixon encouraged the
Shah of Iran to develop a nuclear program and provided the funding to Iran's energy sector. The United States maintained a close partnership with Iran
until, the Islamic Revolution in February of 1979. The revolution overthrew the Shah of Iran and Ruhollah Khomeini became the new supreme leader
of Iran. Immediately following the revolution, Iran engaged in a war against Iraq in the early 1980s. "With a new balance of power, tensions grew
between the U.S. and Iran. During this time, Iran held 52 Americans hostage in an attempt to negotiate with the United States; however, after the
Iranian hostage crisis, the United States no longer saw Iran as an ally."
After the Iranian Revolution, Khomeini sought to increase Iran's nuclear

U.s. Government 's Impact On The United States
The U.S. made many daring decisions at the end of the 19th century. These gambles the U.S. made helped to guide the country to the path of
greatness. At that time, the U.S. was looking to expand economically and improve its grip on the world. The U.S. government knew making some
good choices would be critical to set the U.S. on the path to success in the following decades. The purchase of Alaska in 1867 and the annexation
of Hawaii in 1898 were two of the crucial decisions. The outcomes of these decision aided the U.S. throughout the end of the 19th century and into
the present. Both of these allowed for the expansion of land and had a positive influence economically for the citizens. Many things that people are
accustomed to today would not be available if the U.S. did not challenge what others believed and do what the government thought was right at that
point in history. The purchase of Alaska in 1867 and the annexation of Hawaii in 1898 greatly benefited the U.S. on a worldly scale in many
different aspects. The U.S. needed to solidify a strong position in the Pacific so they secured the territory of Alaska previously owned by Russia. A
better military, economic, and strategic position in the Pacific was exactly what the U.S. government needed to further the interests of the country. The
first purpose of buying the empty land was to gain a stable oil supply. In addition to the oil, precious minerals were found in Alaska which added to
the value of the purchase, and

U.s. Secretary Of State
Background:
In 2001 Hillary Clinton was elected into the senate, she then became the first, first lady to ever win a public office seat. And in 2009 she became the
67th U.S. secretary of state, she served until 2013. Now in 2016 she made history by becoming the first woman in U.S. to be a presidential nominee of
a major political party. Donald Trump is a billionaire real estate mogul, a business man with no political l and reality television personality. In 2016, he
became the Republican presidential nominee.
Vice Presidential Selection:
The Vice presidential candidates are Tim Kaine for thedemocratic party and Mike Pence for the Republican party. A lot of journalists and democrat
argue that Pence was successful only because he throw Trump under the bus and refused to defend his boss from repeated attack. But they miss the
point: voters rarely scrutinize debates line–by–line, instead making their judgments on the overall tone and performance of a candidate. Pence will not
fare well with fact checkers, but his poise and polish played well with voters. For better or worse, style counts a lot in these debates. Tim Kaine had a
much sharper mastery of policy but was forced to play attack dog, a role that doesn 't fit his personality. His frequent interruptions didn 't help, either.
Message:
Hillary Clintons primary message is advancing opportunity and prosperity, directly addressing a fundamental concern and cynicism among the
American people. Hillary Clinton also spoke about

U.s. Constitution And The United States
The U.S Constitution sets all the general rules and laws for the United States of America. The U.S. Constitution is very general because it is covering
everything for the entire country. It gives an understanding on how the nation's government works. Provides the framework of the proper functions,
responsibilities, and what each section of the government has to provide. The U.S. Constitution is important to the country, but state constitutions are
also important. State constitutions go in more depth pertaining to their states laws. Both carry the same amount of information, but each state finds
their constitution more significant than the entire nations.
The Nevada constitution is longer than the U.S. Constitution because of what it needs to focus on. "In recent years, state constitutions have become
the focal point of controversies over same–sex marriage, eminent domain reform, resistance to health care reform, gun control, free speech on private
property, equal education funding, school vouchers, recall of elected officials and many other important matters of public policy." This shows the
significance of why the Nevada constitution is longer. Nevada has its own laws that are different from every other state in the United States. The U.S
Constitution generalizes rules that is applied everywhere in the country, but the Nevada constitution goes more in depth on their laws and rules. Along
with that, Nevada is known for "gambling", resulting in having to making sure that the

The United States ( U.s. ) Negotiation
The United States (U.S.) negotiation with the Haqqani network for the release Bowe Bergdahl in 2014 is the subject of my review. Bergdahl was
the last U.S. prisoner of war from the war in Afghanistan captured in 2009 by the Haqqani network, an ally of the Taliban terrorist group

According to reports, Bergdahl left his post as a result of becoming disillusioned with the war effort following the death of a fellow soldier; leaving
many, including some member of congress, to consider him as a deserter (Capehart 2014). The deal made for Bergdahl's return to the U.S. has been

Furthermore, President Obama claims the move fulfills American's commitment to leaving Afghanistan and bringing all U.S. prisoners–of–war home

negotiation and the Haqqani network is not officially considered a terrorist organization. Regarding the possibility of using Special Forces to rescue
Bergdahl from Pakistan, White House officials explain doing so was out of the question due to fear of further upsetting Pakistan's government

regards to the conflict continuum, White House officials initially reacted to Bergdahl's capture with the most often used response to conflict,

involving mixed motives and the Bergdahl case is no exception. In the end, Bergdahl was released in exchange for the release of five Guantanamo

U.s. Illegal Immigration And The United States

U.S. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
The United States of America has always been a symbol of the free world. It has offered many generations of immigrants the opportunity to start a
new life, a free life. America has collected immigrants from all over the world; however, some arrive legally and some make their way in illegally. In
the U.S. today, this issue is dividing Americans between their morals and the law. In November of 2014, PresidentBarack Obama claimed, "My fellow
Americans, we are and always will be a nation of immigrants. We were strangers once, too" (Somanader, Tanya. ""We Were Strangers Once, Too": The
President Announces New Steps on Immigration"). Many believe illegal immigrants should be deported, while others say they should be welcomed
with open arms. Current illegal immigrants deserve the privilege to remain in the United States and be led on a path to citizenship, however measures
should be taken to prevent further illegal immigrants. Immigration in America goes back hundreds of years and it is important to understand its
background. The United States, was founded by immigrants seeking a new life in the new world and throughout its history. In November of 2014 at
Del Sol High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, President Obama said:

The U.s. Constitution Of The United States
The U.S. Constitution laid out the ground work of how we run our country, and the processes we must go through to make our country strong and
intact. When it comes to the steps that must be followed in passing a bill into law, the Constitution of the United States tells us in Article 1 Section
7 the appropriate steps to get this accomplished. The legwork and the approval process can be quite lengthy to get a bill passed into law, as it must
go through certain stages before it can become official. To get a better idea of how a bill gets passed into law, I will play the role of a member of
the House of Representatives with an idea to make public colleges tuition free. I have written a proposed idea of how I would like the college
tuition of public Universities to be free with stipulations and requirements to the American citizen looking to broaden their education and create job
skills. With the bill planned out and me being a member of the House of Representatives, I am going to introduce this bill in the House. Now it is
important to remember that anyone can draft a bill but only a member of Congress can introduce bills. After the bill has been introduced it goes to a
committee, where at this point it will be determined if this bill has any chance of being passed. If the bill is brought to the committee and they happen
not to act on the bill, then unfortunately the bill would be considered dead. Most bills after this point can be referred to a sub–committee where the

The United States Constitution Vs. U.s. Supreme Court
Established in Article III of the United States Constitution, The U.S. Supreme Court is the only federal branch that is comprised of non–elected
members. The President with the advice and consent of Congress appoints Justices. The court adjudicates cases that arise through U.S. Constitutional
issues U.S. laws and treaties, interstate cases and cases where a state itself or the U.S. is a party in the case. The Supreme Court has both original and
appellate jurisdiction. That is, the court hears cases that originated in the Court itself and cases that have passed through other, lower federal courts
with one party finding reasons to appeal. The court interprets the Constitution as it applies to a case, and it attempts to make a decision that most
benefits the society of the time. This interpretation stands as the law until the court itself reverses it and deems it unconstitutional. The court has
immense power and influence on the country and public policy. Consequently, the justices that make up the court, as individuals, heavily influence
public policy. The court has seen as little as six and as many as ten justices serving at one time, including a Chief Justice. Often viewed as the
embodiment of the court, the Chief Justice 's personality, judicial outlook and intellect can mold the courts image in public opinion and set the tone for
what decisions are made and how. The ideology of Justices makes a difference as to the positions they advance in cases. The attitudinal model

The Current State of the U.S. Economy Essay
The Current State of the U.S. Economy
The United States economy is racing ahead at dangerous speeds, and it may be too late to prevent the return of widespread inflation. Ideally the
economy should move ahead gradually and grow at a steady manageable rate. Mae West once stated "Too much of a good thing can be wonderful" and
it seems the U.S. Treasury Secretary agrees. The Secretary announced that due to our increasing surplus and booming economy, instead of having an
outsized tax cut, we should use the surplus to further pay down the national debt. A tax cut, though most Americans would favor it initially, would
prove counter productive. Cutting taxes would over stimulate an already raging economy, and enhance the possibilities of an ... Show more content on

effected by these constant raises are shareholders. Because of these immediate effects market economists are largely against the interest rate hikes.
Their position is that the average inflation rate over the past three years has been at around 2% close to the markets expected inflation rate of 1.9%.
The economy is on a sixteen year run, continually moving forward. The historical data is there however; the consumer price index was at 1.6% over
the past twelve months and the March year over year rate was at 3.7% The market economists do not stop there due to the vast improvements in
productivity, largely due to increased technology and the internet, some market economists argue that Greenspan should leave the economy as is.
Ideally the growth rate of the economy should be set by the growth rate of the labor force and productivity, and if the two were similar, inflation would
not be a factor. The economy

U.s. Congress And The United States Congress
Under the first Article in the Constitution, the U.S. Congress is the first branch and is also known as the most important representative body of the
world. They are among the other few national representative bodies that acquire powers of governance. The U.S. Congress is made up of two
chambers, The House of Representatives and The Senate. The two most important powers given to any government are the power of force and the
power over money, and the U.S. Congress has the authority over the two. They have a lot of power in their hands (Lowi, 130). As mentioned before,
the U.S. Congress is made up of two chambers–the House and the Senate– that is provided by the constitution as a bicameral legislature. They each
cater to different constituencies. The House is known to be more responsive to the people and the Senate is responsive to the elite. They both are
elected directly by the people. Four hundred thirty–five of the members of the U.S. Congress are apart of the House and one hundred of the members
are apart of the Senate (Lowi, 136). Can you imagine having to make compromises and decisions on thing with five hundred thirty–five people? I can
imagine with that many people apart of the U.S. Congress that they dealt with a lot of conflict when having to make decisions. With their powers,
under Article I, Section 8, Congress has the power to lay and collect taxes, borrow money, deal with bankruptcy, and mainly have control over the
nations finances. With territory of

The And Skewed State Of The U.S. Health Care

  • 1. The And Skewed State Of The U.s. Health Care Accountable Care Organizations The patchy and skewed state of the U.S. health care system has become an advocate for payment and delivery system reforms. Traditional fee–for service (FFS) payment structures increase volume rather than quality care, and lead to a provision of medical services across the disjointed provider scenery. Despite several attempts to recover care delivery, health care costs continue to escalate. The Accountable Care Organization (ACO) model seeks to reverse the trends by stimulating a synchronized restructure of the payment and delivery systems to attract higher quality, lower cost care. In todays' healthcare most people with private insurance today get coverage through their employers. Public programs provide health care for millions more. Still other people get whatever insurance or other health care services they can afford on their own. In March 2010, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was signed into law. It was the most extensive reform of America's health care system since at least the creation of Medicare in 1965. It was a signature piece of legislation for President Obama's first term, and also a ball and chain for his second. The ACA is divided into 10 different titles as follows: ACOs were created by section 2706 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to take part in the Medicare Shared Savings Program created under section 3022. An ACO, which can include primary care physicians, specialists, hospitals or other providers, bears ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. U.s. The United States The US Government, along with non–state US actors, has had a long and violent history of involvement in Central and South American politics. Concurrent US administrations have supported coupes and regime changes in order to achieve immediate goals, or to avoid perceived threats. US involvement, however, has often been accompanied by negative consequences and atrocities. The US must break from old paradigm in order to develop a sustainable partnership in the Americas. As early at the mid–19th century, American entrepreneurs and businessmen became deeply involved in civil struggles in Central America. William Walker, a US citizen, went so far as to appoint himself president ofNicaragua, until he was ousted by rival US interests (William ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The CIA Agent Known as Swat, plus Others, 2016). Disappointed Kirchner supporters accuse the newly appointed Argentine president of supporting a pentagon takeover of Argentine fresh water reserves (El Hacedor, 2016). Similarly, anti–US propaganda is a main pillar of legitimacy in the Venezuelan Bolivar government. In its conception, as a pseudo–leftist totalitarian regime, the Chavez administration sought to consolidate power, and become a word player by directly opposing US interest in a recreated Cold War like dichotomy. This was in very much in line with the Chavez dream to recreate Cuba in Venezuela(Cardenas, 2013). Unfortunately for Chavez, his attempts were in a different historical reality than that of Castro. The only thing that he had to unite this motley crew of unwanted world leaders (Kelly, 2013) was their opposition to the US. The increasing cubanization (Cardenas, 2013) of Venezuela alienated the most patriotic sectors of society, most notably the military. The Venezuelan military had been a strong ally to neighboring Colombian forces, as to US forces. Under Chavez the military was ordered to partner with Cuban military and to support Colombian guerillas (Romero, 2009). Within months of Chavez's election, military leaders began plotting his removal (Campbell, 2002). While Venezuelan military leaders planned in the shadows, their intended coup d'etat was an open secret (Campbell, 2002). This allowed Chavez ample time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. U.s. Federal And State Governments As a consequence of the Gulf Wars of 1991 and 2003 and the current political unrest in the Middle East, the United States and other western countries have made no secret of their strategic goal of becoming energy independent. Incidentally, recent advances in hydraulic fracturing – a process used to extract oil or gas from underground formations – has contributed significantly to achieving that end. According to Terry Engelder (2011), of the Department of Geosciences at Pennsylvania State University, "There is enough domestic gas to meet our needs for the foreseeable future thanks to technological advances in hydraulic fracturing" (Howarth, Ingraffia, & Engelder, p. 271). U.S. federal and state governments should continue to permit and... The following year, in his State of the Union Address, President Obama (2012) commented, "We have a supply of natural gas that can last America nearly 100 years." Furthermore, advances in hydraulic fracturing technology have enabled an exponential increase in U.S. gas production, which had already reached 10 trillion cubic meters by 2012, "turning the United States into an unexpected technology–driven 'petrostate' of a type never seen before" (Golden & Wiseman, 2015, p. 966). Consequently, the United States is now largely energy–independent with sufficient fuel reserves and the means of production to support its energy needs for the foreseeable future. An additional benefit of fracking is that natural gas reduces overall greenhouse–gas emissions. As with all fossil fuels, burning natural gas produces CO2. However, CO2 emissions from natural gas are 50% lower than coal, and between 20% and 30% lower than oil (Howarth, Ingraffea, & Engelder, 2011). Also, the increase in production and availability of fracking–related natural gas has made it an economical alternative to traditional fossil fuels such as coal and oil for electrical power generation plants. Moreover, the combination of lower CO2 production from natural gas together with its widespread adoption as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. U.s. Presidential Election On The United States There will be a U.S. presidential election on November 8, 2016. Whether you identify as a Republican, a Democrat, or somewhere in between, there is no denying that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are two highly controversial candidates. While it is difficult to tell where most Americans stand on the election issue, it is easy to see that ancient Chinese Legalist thinkers would be staunch supporters of Donald Trump. Legalist ideas seem to be the foundation upon which Trump's Republican Party was built. Even Trump's slogan, "Make America Great Again," is echoed in the Legalist notion of becoming a strong country with impenetrable borders. Though I, along with many Americans, disagree with Trump on many points, histax and welfare policies seem to be based on logic, especially in the context of Chinese history. However, America is not ready for a president who has illustrated such a flagrant disregard for the law. Just as the Legalist regime in China was short–lived, so should be Trump's time in the limelight. Han Feizi and Shang Yang, Legalist thinkers in ancient China, would vote for Donald Trump in the upcoming election. While Feizi, Yang, and Trump agree on many fundamental points, taxation and welfare policy are the most significant. Feizi stated in his teachings, "now if the ruler levies money from the rich in order to give alms to the poor, he is robbing the diligent and frugal and indulging the lazy and extravagant. • 5. U.s. Patent Law And United States Essay In the United States, both U.S. Patent Law and U.S. " Food and Drug Administration" (FDA) law govern the exclusivity rights for new pharmaceutical products. As Chinese companies invest research time and money in developing new drugs, it is important to keep in mind both the relevant U.S. patent law and the applicable FDA law that could affect the exclusivity period for that drug in the United States. Mistakes in not obtaining proper patent coverage or satisfying the FDA laws could cost the drug company valuable exclusivity rights when that drug is sold in the United States. For a successful drug, the lost of exclusivity rights usually means the loss of substantial revenue and profit. How can a drug innovator have exclusivity in the United States without a patent? The FDA will give a five year exclusivity period for a "new chemical entity" (NCE) used in a drug. What does this mean? During this five year exclusivity period, no other company can submit an "Abbreviated New Drug Application" (ANDA) to the FDA seeking approval of a drug product containing the NCE. This exclusivity period rewards the innovator for all of the research and development effort, including expensive clinical tests to show the safety and efficacy of the NCE that must be done to support a "New Drug Application" (NDA). The five year exclusivity period allows the NDA holder to recoup this investment. Importantly, this exclusivity occurs regardless of whether or not a U.S. patent has been issued. An ANDA ... In 2005, the Canadian company at first proposed the pipeline, and applied to the U.S State Department for a construction permit in 2008. The proposed XL pipeline has the same origin and destination as an operational pipe, also called Keystone – granted presidential permit in 2008 by President George W Bush – but takes a more direct route. The XL pipeline would allow for an increased supply of oil from Canada. The Keystone XL pipeline is a proposed 1,179–mile (1,897km) pipe that would run from the oil sands in Alberta, Canada, to Steele City, Nebraska, where it could join an existing pipe. It estimated that it would create about 35 permanent jobs. The pipeline could contribute about $3.4 billion to American economy. 2)My Policy Recommendations Introduction: The American government should think and making hard decision before building the Keystone Pipeline XL that would run 1,179–mile (1,897km) that across the United States. Why it is hard decision? The project is the national interest that related to economics, environmental, national security and foreign policy implications. Even though this is a crisscross between Canada and the US, but most of the lands that they are using belong to the United States. When something bad happen the United States lands will be the one who get polluted the most, and they do not know is the pipe is safe for a long–term operation. The United States should think for the future, not only the benefits that they will get in the present time. My Specific Recommendation: Yes, I believe there is good reason why they should approve the Keystone Pipeline XL. Canada it the world's second largest oil deposit after Saudi Arabia and I what I got from reading the TransCanada website www. keystone –xl.com. • 7. U.s. State Department Advisory State Department Advisory: The US State Department advises citizens not to visit Mexico during their elections. So, it was Day One of our trip and I felt quite nervous. Sleep eluded me the night before as my head was spinning with thoughts of spending the next three weeks flying all the way from Phoenix, Arizona to Santiago, Chile in a small airplane. I couldn't refrain from dwelling on how crazy we were, especially given the State Department warning against U.S. citizens visiting Mexico. Up until that point in time, I had never been out of the continental United States. When I was twelve years old, I visited Puerto Rico; however, I'm not sure that counts. For this to be my first true international travel experience felt rather... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I arrived at Scottsdale Municipal Airport, to begin our trip, Miguel had already arrived and unloaded his car. He sat perched in front of a mountain of personal belongings. Without even exchanging as much as a, "Good morning," we both stood glancing back and forth between his massive pile and the small plane. When we made eye contact, we both burst out laughing. Obviously, we had way too much to put in the plane. In addition to sheer volume, we needed to be concerned with Weight and Balance; in other words, total weight and how it's distributed in relation to the airplane's center of gravity. My weight, Miguel's weight, combined with the weight of the fuel and everything we were taking had to be factored in. Loading the plane accordingly was essential; otherwise, there existed a danger of the plane becoming uncontrollable or not even being able to safely take off. Already falling behind schedule and faced with the full day of flying, we needed to make some decisions quickly. However, the National Security Act of 1947 was the first U.S. law on the conduct of intelligence operations. • 9. United States, U.s. V. Nixon Not to be confused with Nixon v. United States, U.S. v. Nixon was a crucial case of the Supreme Court during a time of political scandal. On the night of June 17th, 1972, five men broke into the Democratic National Committee in an attempt to gain secrets that would help Nixon win the re–election. The men were found to be connected to Nixon himself. Upon being caught, all hell broke loose for Nixon's presidency and there was no turning back. Upon further investigation by Congress, Nixon was committing illegal acts other than that of burglary. It was discovered that the tapes Nixon used to record his conversations in the Oval Office would be beneficial in the sense that they contained all the proof needed to impeach the president. The president argued that this damning information needed not be shared with the community and was protected by his executive privileges. The entire situation became known as the Watergate scandal and exploded in popularity with the help of the media. After it was all said and done, the Supreme Court ruled that Nixon was being unconstitutional. This is undoubtedly true due to the fact a president is supposed to help a country grow stronger, not tear it apart. This is especially true if you 're thinking about a degree in areas like business, IT or engineering. 3. Include less selective schools About a twenty–five percent of your university target schools should be those that are less selective with regards to admissions of international students. You should find this by researching about the minimum scores they require on admissions tests. Sure, famous and well–known schools are always a good choice, but competition is very tough regardless whether you 're an international student or you aren 't. 4. Consider cost Getting a college degree from among the best universities in the world can be really expensive. An undergraduate institution can account to this by at least $15,000 to as much as $45,000, including room, board and tuition. If you 're getting a graduate education, expect the price being even higher. It could also be difficult to get funding for international students since most of the loans, scholarships and grants are to college students who are already in the USA. Don 't depend on getting a job on US soil to fund your school fees, since there are restrictions in employing foreigners. On–campus jobs can be nearly impossible to find and they don 't pay much. Expect a maximum of $2,000 on the regular school year with an on–campus job. 5. Take tests Another major consideration for international students is admissions testing. Whether it discusses how the program will be financed, the need to redesign the organization, or how the process of delivering healthcare will be implemented; one thing that is a frontrunner, is the need for registered nurses (RNs) and advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to fill the increased demands on the primary care system (Institute of Medicine, & Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2011, p. 375). Of course, this is not the only reason for continuing my nursing education, it will also enable me to provide more competent care, which leads to better patient outcomes, as well as, quality and safety of patient care (Mason, Leavitt, & Chaffee, 2014, p. 386). Some of the dilemmas associated with today's nursing force are: Many are under–educated and task–oriented, unaware of their patient's plan of care, medical histories, or pertinent results. Too many rely on clinical coordinators and team leaders, when it comes to critical thinking, therefore, miss out on the vital fundamentals, which make nursing such an honorable profession (Grietens, 2007, p. 10). In order to create a stronger, more knowledgeable nursing workforce, entry–level requirements for RNs, as well as APRNs, need to be uniform. In addition, research shows bachelors and masters prepared nurses, result in better patient outcomes. An example of a proposed solution includes: The state nursing boards and nurses propose a policy that mandates minimum requirements for entry–level nurses. The numbers of incidents involving "hot pursuits" of the militant hideouts inside the Pakistani territory have been very few, so they have not attracted as much attention as other operations. Uniform "Standards" are not what our educational system needs to evolve, and have shown no evidence in improving education in America; in fact, we may be struggling more now than we ever were before. The C.C.S.S has promoted excellence and advancement in common core classes but has also proven to fall short on their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Money can buy you a lot of things in America, and a good education is one of them. The lack of funding in public school systems also leads to underpaid and often undereducated teachers. These teachers are often never given the tools to succeed when such changes like the C.C.S.S. come about. When we fail to continue the education of those who educate our young, we, therefore, fail to succeed academically as a society. States are not merely missing academic criterion because they have low expectations or no motivation, but because we are failing to provide them with the necessary tools and resources to educate children at an acceptable level. By promoting standardized testing, we are essentially setting our children and our future up for failure. "Standards lay out the major goals that must be accomplished without indicating all the underlying skills or knowledge that must be gained to reach those goals" (Shanahan, 2015). Although the C.C.S.S outline their goals, they do not provide a plan on how to achieve them, in turn creating huge problems for educators nationwide. We cannot possibly expect teachers to be able to meet such high standards when we are giving them so little to work with. • 29. The Issue Of The United States ( U.s. ) I. Explanation of Issues What is the main problem/question at issue in this article? The main problem at issue in the article is that the United States (U.S.), as a country, are still largely employing the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to measure the welfare of the nation although the welfare of a nation can scarcely be inferred from a measurement of national income. What are some of the subsidiary, embebbed, or implicit aspects of the problem, and what are their relationship to each other? There are also other aspects to the problem. These aspects include: (1) the Congress did not heed Simon Kuznets's warning about how little GDP is connected to welfare of the nation; (2) Americans only came to know more about limitations of the GDP in measuring their well–being after Great Recession; and (3) there is the emergence of a suggestion to implement alternative measures that more accurately reflect the progress of human well–being. These aspects are related to one another. The Congress's initial ignorance led to the eventual late discovery about how the GDP has its limits. This in turn led to the creation of or debate for other measures of welfare. This shows how the movement for alternative measures to human well–being is being triggered. This would then introduce the idea of including more factors other than national income into the measurement of well–being. For instance, according to Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI), the well–being of individuals is comprised of economic, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. U.s. Iranian Negotiations And The United States Essay United States– Iranian Negotiations The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action has been regarded as the biggest diplomatic failure in the United States history. While this seems to be an over sensationalized statement, analyzing the dispute system design, cross–cultural negotiation, and resistance points of the deal, may shed further insight on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and how the United States resolves conflict with Middle Eastern nations. Historical Context The relations between the United State's and Iran were amicable throughout the post–World War II. In entering the Cold War, "the United States negotiated the Baghdad Pact in which an alliance between, Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan was formed." During this era, President Nixon encouraged the Shah of Iran to develop a nuclear program and provided the funding to Iran's energy sector. The United States maintained a close partnership with Iran until, the Islamic Revolution in February of 1979. The revolution overthrew the Shah of Iran and Ruhollah Khomeini became the new supreme leader of Iran. Immediately following the revolution, Iran engaged in a war against Iraq in the early 1980s. "With a new balance of power, tensions grew between the U.S. and Iran. During this time, Iran held 52 Americans hostage in an attempt to negotiate with the United States; however, after the Iranian hostage crisis, the United States no longer saw Iran as an ally." • 33. U.s. Government 's Impact On The United States The U.S. made many daring decisions at the end of the 19th century. These gambles the U.S. made helped to guide the country to the path of greatness. At that time, the U.S. was looking to expand economically and improve its grip on the world. The U.S. government knew making some good choices would be critical to set the U.S. on the path to success in the following decades. The purchase of Alaska in 1867 and the annexation of Hawaii in 1898 were two of the crucial decisions. The outcomes of these decision aided the U.S. throughout the end of the 19th century and into the present. Both of these allowed for the expansion of land and had a positive influence economically for the citizens. Many things that people are accustomed to today would not be available if the U.S. did not challenge what others believed and do what the government thought was right at that point in history. The purchase of Alaska in 1867 and the annexation of Hawaii in 1898 greatly benefited the U.S. on a worldly scale in many different aspects. The U.S. needed to solidify a strong position in the Pacific so they secured the territory of Alaska previously owned by Russia. A better military, economic, and strategic position in the Pacific was exactly what the U.S. government needed to further the interests of the country. The first purpose of buying the empty land was to gain a stable oil supply. In addition to the oil, precious minerals were found in Alaska which added to the value of the purchase, and ... And in 2009 she became the 67th U.S. secretary of state, she served until 2013. Now in 2016 she made history by becoming the first woman in U.S. to be a presidential nominee of a major political party. Donald Trump is a billionaire real estate mogul, a business man with no political l and reality television personality. In 2016, he became the Republican presidential nominee. Vice Presidential Selection: The Vice presidential candidates are Tim Kaine for thedemocratic party and Mike Pence for the Republican party. A lot of journalists and democrat argue that Pence was successful only because he throw Trump under the bus and refused to defend his boss from repeated attack. But they miss the point: voters rarely scrutinize debates line–by–line, instead making their judgments on the overall tone and performance of a candidate. Pence will not fare well with fact checkers, but his poise and polish played well with voters. For better or worse, style counts a lot in these debates. Tim Kaine had a much sharper mastery of policy but was forced to play attack dog, a role that doesn 't fit his personality. His frequent interruptions didn 't help, either. Message: Hillary Clintons primary message is advancing opportunity and prosperity, directly addressing a fundamental concern and cynicism among the American people. • 35. U.s. Constitution And The United States The U.S Constitution sets all the general rules and laws for the United States of America. The U.S. Constitution is very general because it is covering everything for the entire country. It gives an understanding on how the nation's government works. Provides the framework of the proper functions, responsibilities, and what each section of the government has to provide. The U.S. Constitution is important to the country, but state constitutions are also important. State constitutions go in more depth pertaining to their states laws. Both carry the same amount of information, but each state finds their constitution more significant than the entire nations. The Nevada constitution is longer than the U.S. Constitution because of what it needs to focus on. "In recent years, state constitutions have become the focal point of controversies over same–sex marriage, eminent domain reform, resistance to health care reform, gun control, free speech on private property, equal education funding, school vouchers, recall of elected officials and many other important matters of public policy." This shows the significance of why the Nevada constitution is longer. Nevada has its own laws that are different from every other state in the United States. The U.S Constitution generalizes rules that is applied everywhere in the country, but the Nevada constitution goes more in depth on their laws and rules. Along with that, Nevada is known for "gambling", resulting in having to making sure that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bergdahl was the last U.S. prisoner of war from the war in Afghanistan captured in 2009 by the Haqqani network, an ally of the Taliban terrorist group (Wallbank and Ratnam 2014). Bergdahl was taken after leaving his Army post and held by his captives in Pakistan for five years (CBS NEWS). According to reports, Bergdahl left his post as a result of becoming disillusioned with the war effort following the death of a fellow soldier; leaving many, including some member of congress, to consider him as a deserter (Capehart 2014). The deal made for Bergdahl's return to the U.S. has been very controversial. For more... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, President Obama claims the move fulfills American's commitment to leaving Afghanistan and bringing all U.S. prisoners–of–war home (Wallbank and Ratnam 2014). White House officials claim the U.S. did not negotiate with terrorist since the government of Qatar conducted the negotiation and the Haqqani network is not officially considered a terrorist organization. Regarding the possibility of using Special Forces to rescue Bergdahl from Pakistan, White House officials explain doing so was out of the question due to fear of further upsetting Pakistan's government (Goldman and Wilson 2014). Analysis Relating to Class Discussions Regardless of whether the negotiation for Bergdahl was appropriate, it relates well to the information presented in class. The Bergdahl negotiation was a strategic communication process to get a deal or resolve a problem. In regards to the conflict continuum, White House officials initially reacted to Bergdahl's capture with the most often used response to conflict, avoidance. However once rescuing Bergdahl became a higher priority; negotiations began through a third party, the government of Qatar. Officials from Qatar agreed to facilitate the negotiations for humanitarian reasons (Wallbank and Ratnam 2014). • 38. U.s. Illegal Immigration And The United States Aiden C. Max Mr. Pring AP U.S. Government 161 – 3 22 April 2016 U.S. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION The United States of America has always been a symbol of the free world. It has offered many generations of immigrants the opportunity to start a new life, a free life. America has collected immigrants from all over the world; however, some arrive legally and some make their way in illegally. In the U.S. today, this issue is dividing Americans between their morals and the law. In November of 2014, PresidentBarack Obama claimed, "My fellow Americans, we are and always will be a nation of immigrants. We were strangers once, too" (Somanader, Tanya. ""We Were Strangers Once, Too": The President Announces New Steps on Immigration"). Many believe illegal immigrants should be deported, while others say they should be welcomed with open arms. Current illegal immigrants deserve the privilege to remain in the United States and be led on a path to citizenship, however measures should be taken to prevent further illegal immigrants. Immigration in America goes back hundreds of years and it is important to understand its background. The United States, was founded by immigrants seeking a new life in the new world and throughout its history. In November of 2014 at Del Sol High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, President Obama said: We didn't raise the Statue of Liberty with her back to the world, we did it with her light shining as a beacon to the world. • 39. The U.s. Constitution Of The United States The U.S. Constitution laid out the ground work of how we run our country, and the processes we must go through to make our country strong and intact. When it comes to the steps that must be followed in passing a bill into law, the Constitution of the United States tells us in Article 1 Section 7 the appropriate steps to get this accomplished. The legwork and the approval process can be quite lengthy to get a bill passed into law, as it must go through certain stages before it can become official. To get a better idea of how a bill gets passed into law, I will play the role of a member of the House of Representatives with an idea to make public colleges tuition free. I have written a proposed idea of how I would like the college tuition of public Universities to be free with stipulations and requirements to the American citizen looking to broaden their education and create job skills. With the bill planned out and me being a member of the House of Representatives, I am going to introduce this bill in the House. Now it is important to remember that anyone can draft a bill but only a member of Congress can introduce bills. After the bill has been introduced it goes to a committee, where at this point it will be determined if this bill has any chance of being passed. If the bill is brought to the committee and they happen not to act on the bill, then unfortunately the bill would be considered dead. Most bills after this point can be referred to a sub–committee where the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. The United States Constitution Vs. U.s. Supreme Court Established in Article III of the United States Constitution, The U.S. Supreme Court is the only federal branch that is comprised of non–elected members. The President with the advice and consent of Congress appoints Justices. The court adjudicates cases that arise through U.S. Constitutional issues U.S. laws and treaties, interstate cases and cases where a state itself or the U.S. is a party in the case. The Supreme Court has both original and appellate jurisdiction. That is, the court hears cases that originated in the Court itself and cases that have passed through other, lower federal courts with one party finding reasons to appeal. The court interprets the Constitution as it applies to a case, and it attempts to make a decision that most benefits the society of the time. This interpretation stands as the law until the court itself reverses it and deems it unconstitutional. The court has immense power and influence on the country and public policy. Consequently, the justices that make up the court, as individuals, heavily influence public policy. The court has seen as little as six and as many as ten justices serving at one time, including a Chief Justice. Often viewed as the embodiment of the court, the Chief Justice 's personality, judicial outlook and intellect can mold the courts image in public opinion and set the tone for what decisions are made and how. The ideology of Justices makes a difference as to the positions they advance in cases. The attitudinal model ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. The Current State of the U.S. Economy Essay The Current State of the U.S. Economy The United States economy is racing ahead at dangerous speeds, and it may be too late to prevent the return of widespread inflation. Ideally the economy should move ahead gradually and grow at a steady manageable rate. Mae West once stated "Too much of a good thing can be wonderful" and it seems the U.S. Treasury Secretary agrees. The Secretary announced that due to our increasing surplus and booming economy, instead of having an outsized tax cut, we should use the surplus to further pay down the national debt. A tax cut, though most Americans would favor it initially, would prove counter productive. Cutting taxes would over stimulate an already raging economy, and enhance the possibilities of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The federal reserve has raised interest rates five times in less then twelve months, and the pervious raises are just barely beginning to take effect. The previous raises averaged around a quarter percentage point, and since these raises failed to slow the economy, Greenspan, unable to take anymore chances doubled the previous with a promise of more to come. The interest rates are expected to reach 7.0% by June, the most severally effected by these constant raises are shareholders. Because of these immediate effects market economists are largely against the interest rate hikes. Their position is that the average inflation rate over the past three years has been at around 2% close to the markets expected inflation rate of 1.9%. The economy is on a sixteen year run, continually moving forward. The historical data is there however; the consumer price index was at 1.6% over the past twelve months and the March year over year rate was at 3.7% The market economists do not stop there due to the vast improvements in productivity, largely due to increased technology and the internet, some market economists argue that Greenspan should leave the economy as is. • 42. U.s. Congress And The United States Congress Under the first Article in the Constitution, the U.S. Congress is the first branch and is also known as the most important representative body of the world. They are among the other few national representative bodies that acquire powers of governance. The U.S. Congress is made up of two chambers, The House of Representatives and The Senate. The two most important powers given to any government are the power of force and the power over money, and the U.S. Congress has the authority over the two. They have a lot of power in their hands (Lowi, 130). As mentioned before, the U.S. Congress is made up of two chambers–the House and the Senate– that is provided by the constitution as a bicameral legislature. They each cater to different constituencies. The House is known to be more responsive to the people and the Senate is responsive to the elite. They both are elected directly by the people. Four hundred thirty–five of the members of the U.S. Congress are apart of the House and one hundred of the members are apart of the Senate (Lowi, 136). Can you imagine having to make compromises and decisions on thing with five hundred thirty–five people? I can imagine with that many people apart of the U.S. Congress that they dealt with a lot of conflict when having to make decisions. With their powers, under Article I, Section 8, Congress has the power to lay and collect taxes, borrow money, deal with bankruptcy, and mainly have control over the nations finances.
