What is my campaign ?
• My campaign will be for the upcoming game; Red Dead
Redemption 2 .
• I have chosen this as I believe it will be a good campaign to use for
the likes of creating social media pages. Also I believe there will
be a wide range to promote too because of how worldwide video
games are in the present.
The Purpose of the Campaign
• The purpose of my campaign is to promote the video game, I can
do this through creating a social media page advertising the game
and also giving fans an insight to what they will receive.
• Hopefully by doing this I will suit the target audiences needs and
maybes satisfy them until the games release.
• Doing so would be a successful media campaign.
Existing Media habits of the Target Audience
• Existing habits can be referred to in previous media campaigns
from the game developing company; Rockstar Games.
• For example, one of the most anticipated and hyped games Grand
Theft Auto V. Grand Theft Auto V made broke the game industry
sales records and became the fastest-selling entertainment
product in history, earning $800 million in its first day
and $1 billion in its first three days.
Grand Theft Auto V – Media Campaigns
• Grand Theft Auto V started its media
campaign by posting on multiple
social media platforms, they posted
the announcement for the game and
a date for the reveal trailer; the
reveal trailer. After the trailer they
created a social media page that
was linked to the game. Through the
times they also posted screenshots
of the game on their social media
accounts.

Rockstar Games Print Media Campaigns –
Grand Theft Auto Series
• Before and after social media took off
Rockstar Games kept their advertising retro
with the use of billboards and posters. The
use of print media is much more effective
as it can reach a wider audience
throughout the community.
• The posters or billboards sometimes
featured just the game title and often
included a release date for that product
they were promoting.
Rockstar Games – Red Dead Redemption 2
• Red Dead Redemption 2 is Rockstar
games next big hit, with the success of
the first game of the series and
downloadable content for the game; it
left the fans wanting more.
• A whole six year later Rockstar Games
released a image in October 2016 with
subtle information but fans knew what
it was from the color scheme,
characters shown and setting.
• A few month later Rockstar Games released a trailer for fans; this
trailer showed off the massive scale of the open world and also
promoted their game engine RAGE which has phenomenal
graphics.
• This built more hype for fans and also created a buzz for the
community.

My Campaign – Twitter and Survey
• I created a social media
account for my campaign. I
used twitter to create my
account which I'm going to be
using for one of my campaigns.
• I used twitter as I think it has
a wide population of users and
most being of my target
audience which is perfect for
me.
Before I start creating my
campaign I began by
making a survey using
Survey Monkey; I used this
as I believe its simple to
follow and use, its also
simple to upload the
survey and post it onto
social media for people to
complete.

• For my second campaign I believe I
am going to create a billboard as I
think they are a great way of
advertising.
• The range of people that come across
billboards while driving or walking
makes them effective.

have created, I used
pictures from google to
create this and I think it
has turned out well. I am
happy with the outcome
and think it promotes the
video game very well.
