RADIO NEWSCAST PITCH
OUR RADIO
• The name of our radio station is called “Dynamic Radio”.
• In our station, the topics include doing 3 short Sports, Crime,
Weather, University/Education and Entertainment.
• Reporting & Researching about sports is Sadia Islam,
Entertainment is Taslima Begum, Weather and Education is
Mariam Alim and Farheen Rahman will be reporting with
crime.
• Our slogan is ‘Detailed and Direct’, this is as our radio will be
honest and we will give out all the information.
• Our mission is to voice the truth and encourage young people
to listen to the news and be more aware about what’s
happening locally.
• Also our style of delivering will be semi-professional and
casual but strictly professional taking about crime.
TARGET AUDIENCE
• Our target audience is teenagers to young adults so around 16 year
olds to young adults in their mid twenties.
• Our newscast will be aimed at all sexes. Our newscast is local so it’s
aimed at the borough of Tower Hamlets and East London.
• Our demography:
• - E, D, C1
• - Psychographics; strugglers, reformers, explorers, drifters and
groupies.
• Mass audience
• Education: A levels to university.
• Occupation: students, teachers, office workers, manual workers etc.
• Media interest: crime, music and entertainment also the weather.
• Buying habits: pragmatic about money, like branded items, loyalty to,
expensive taste but don't have the money to afford it.
HOW WILL THE NEWSCAST APPEAL TO
THEM?
• The news stories we’ll be presenting are about crimes, education,
sports.
• Since they’re genre’s that are shocking and knowledgeable. It’d
attract to our younger ages of our audience…
• The newscast will appeal to our audience as they’re genres that
would attract younger ages, which are our target audience.
• Also, the pacing of our story wouldn’t be too slow, as young people
often have a short attention span, and we wouldn’t want to bore
them with too much unnecessary information.
• language, would be formal and have a serious tone for crime
newscasts, and for sports and weather it’d be more casual.
DIVERSITY
What makes our newscast different?
• Live weather
• Directed to a young audience
Which radio station in the real industry would be your
competition and why?
• BBC
• Sky News
• Capital FM for entertainment
This is because we have similar stories being reported and BBC
and Sky News is very popular however we have an advantage
as it’s not specifically targeted towards young people unlike ours.
