What is Grouper?
 Grouper is an invite-only social club that arranges drinks
  between two groups of friends who  don’t  know  each  other  
  (3 guys and 3 girls, or 3 guys and 3 guys, etc.) at some of the
  best spots in the city.
 Our main demographic is young, educated professionals,
  ranging in age from early-twenties to early-thirties. We
  currently have thousands of members in New York City
  and send out hundreds of members on Groupers every
  week.
 We're already working with a number of great places,
  including Apotheke, the Andaz, Ella Lounge, Flute, Hotel
  Chantelle, Stanton Social, Viktor & Spoils, and others, but
  as we grow, we're evaluating new venues.
How it works, part I
 Members apply to Grouper using Facebook, and
  Grouper analyzes basic information on their profiles,
  including age, education, career, interests, and
  attractiveness, to pair members for drinks. Each
  member brings two friends on their Grouper, and we
  pair the vibe and demographic of the group to our
  most suitable partner venue. You can check out the
  site at www.joingrouper.com.
 Members pay a nominal fee to Grouper for the service
  upfront, and to ensure they show up where we reserve.
How it works, part II
 We send groups out every Tuesday, Wednesday, and
  Thursday nights at 9 PM, as well as Friday nights at 8
  PM, and inform our members the day before where
  they'll be going.
 We check in with our partner venues every Friday for
  the  upcoming  week’s  availability  to  host  Grouper
  events, and most venues host 1-2 groups per night each
  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
 Once availability is confirmed, Grouper will send the
  reservation names over to the venue point of contact at
  least 24 hours in advance.
How it works, part III
 All Grouper asks, is that in exchange for sending over up to
  24 new customers a week, or about 100 new customers a
  month, is that the venue cover the first round of drinks,
  which can be a limited selection [usually a selection of
  lower-shelf specialty cocktails/well drinks/house
  wines/beers].
 Grouper will cover gratuity directly [$12] for each of that
  week’s  first  rounds,  sent  over  by  check  every  Friday.
 Everything after the first round is list price and entirely for
  the venue, so there is no brand dilution.
 Grouper will also compile feedback from our members
  about the venue after  their  experience,  which  we’ll  send  
  over weekly.

 Grouper guarantees six new customers in your bar/lounge
    each Grouper night, which equates to about 100 new
    customers per month!
   Pre- and Post-Grouper email marketing to our members.
   Insightful feedback and new customer statistics, sent over
    weekly.
   Customized Foursquare check-ins and tweets about your
    venues
   Buzz amongst our members and their friends after their
    Grouper and association with a new, invite-only social club,
    but without brand dilution.
   Future coverage on  Grouper’s  website  and  blog.
