‘EASY JOBS’ Preliminary Task – Evaluation
For me, my prelim felt like an overall success and I am pleased with it. I think
the music complemented the narrative of the script successfully and I also feel
that the use of black and white for the tense shots juxtaposed well with the
use of normal colourwhen the script reached a positive point. Having watched
it back, for me the bad points of the task lie with the sound; I could have just
turned down the tense soundtrack a notch so that it wasn’t so ‘blasting’ for the
ear and I also don’t like how loud and ‘clunky’ the sound of the chair is when
the interviewee leaves the room, so I could’ve turned down the sound at that
point in the clip. However, when I noticed the dialogue wasn’t quite loud
enough, I did bring up the sound of the dialogue and bring down the
soundtrack music so that the dialogue could be more prominent.
So if I was to do it all again, the only things I would change about my
Preliminary Taskis that I would have the interviewee just lookto the sides
and not at the camera for the dance at the end and I would’ve turned down the
soundtracks by a smidgen, especially for the points of dialogue.
Feedback:
 Sam Webb said how he thought the task was “really good”
 Becca Fry said that she really liked the change in colour from the tense
point of the clip, to the happier part
 Miss Henshall said that I had nice camera shots (including match on
action and shot-reverse-shot)and that I kept to the 180 degree rule. She
also said that my task was slightly high angled and that I could have
tried around with different heights
 Mrs Jones said that I had good use of match-on-action, shot-reverse-
shot, and that I abided by the 180 degree rule
