2. What Worked Well
• I feel that the camera angles, especially the
match on action shots were well done.
• I feel that the way that I adapted the two
angles of Sam sitting on a chair into one
continuous flowing scene was very successful,
it maintains a through line of action and gives
the scene a dynamic edge.
3. What Worked Well Continued
• I also feel that my use of music satisfied my creative vision
for the film, I intended for music use to be restricted to an
audio "sting" used at the beginning of the film in a manner
reminiscent of sitcom transition music.
• I am satisfied with the way that the Beach Boys
instrumental I'm In Great Shape coincides with Sam's steps
down the corridor in the opening shot, and the way in
which his opening of the door synchronises with one of the
saxophone notes, the song clip also finishes fading out as
soon as the first dialogue is spoken, making the music feel
professionally incidental.
4. What Could Be Improved
• I was unsatisfied with the way that the dialogue was
recorded, the words are difficult to make out as they
are quiet and are overpowered by the humming of
machines in the room, in the future I would record
dialogue with a separate microphone and film in
locations where there are fewer noisy industrial
machines.
• Some shots were unsalvageable due to accidental
camera movement, in future I would not hold the
camera while it is attached to the tripod, I would let it
stand on its own to prevent accidental shifting.
5. What Could Be Improved Continued
• Filming the first shot was difficult as we were
filming in a location where many people pass,
so it took a long time before we had a window
of time where no people were passing long
enough to film the scene, the next time that I
film I will either film in more private locations
or find out the best time to film in areas that
can be busy.
6. Conclusion
• In conclusion I am happy with my finished
film, and I have learned a lot about filming
that I can use in the future from problems
encountered during its production.
