This document summarizes a group of European teenagers' trip to their partner school in Olpe, Germany from April 17-22, 2016. The group spent their time meeting with the school headmaster, touring the city of Olpe, participating in workshops on topics like global fast food and renewable energy, visiting a wind farm and wind turbine manufacturer, seeing a fair trade company called GEPA, shopping in Cologne, cooking German foods in the school kitchen, and presenting their workshop findings before saying goodbye at the lake. The trip provided the students with an educational and interesting cultural experience partnering with their German peers.
3. Sunday
We started our trip on Sunday 17th at 6:45 am from
Bergamo airport to Cologne airport.
At 9:15 am we were in
Olpe. Then we met our
host friends and we spent
our time with our new
families.

4. Monday
On Monday we met our partner school in Olpe.
We had a meeting with the headmaster

5. Then, we had a big breakfast
with typical German
dishes like muesli,
ham sandwiches,
organic bread…
It was very good!

6. After that, we visited Olpe and some German
students guided us through the history of the city.

7. During lunch we ate typical soups.
In the afternoon we had workshops: we were divided
into groups of 7-8 people.
The workshops were about:
1. Global fast food and healthy eating habits
2. Fair trade
3. Consumer education
4. Renewable energy

9. Tuesday
On Tuesday morning we went to
a Wind Park, it is a park where
there are windmill blades. We
gathered under one of these,
and then an engineer showed us
the infrastructures and how they
were built.

11. After that we went
to a hotel where
the guide
explained us how
windmill blade
works.
Finally we had
lunch in that hotel.

12. In the afternoon we came back to school in Olpe and
we continued our researches in the workshops.

Wednesday
On Wednesday morning we went to visit GEPA, a fair
trade company in Wuppertal.
The guide told us how the organization works to help
the people of the third world and which are the
products they sell.
Their products are
chocolate, tea, coffee, rice and
non-food like clothes, toys, etc.

Then we visited the shop where they offered us their
products and we bought something for our families

In the afternoon we went to Cologne, a big city near
Olpe where we visited the wonderful Cathedral and
we had some shopping.
16. Thursday
On Thursday we cooked
in the school kitchen; we
were divided into small
groups and we prepared
some very healthy food
with local products.
Everything tasted really
good !!!!!!
19. At the end of our project we had a
meeting with the major and he gave
us some baloons about fair trade.
20. Friday
Friday morning was our
last day at school. We
passed our time all
together and we invented
a song which could
remind us our stay and
our Erasmus+ project.

24. At 9:40 pm we went to Cologne airport
and we came back to Cremona.
It was a very beautiful and interesting
experience!
