2. Introduction
• Dr. Ronnie Floyd is an experienced pastor who
holds a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry
from the Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary. In addition to his current work as the
Senior Pastor of Cross Church Northwest Arkansas,
Dr. Floyd is engaged as a leader in the Southern
Baptist Convention (SBC) and completed two terms
as the President of the organization. The SBC is a
network of Baptist churches that voluntarily
cooperate to share the word of God through mission
work and ministry activities.
3. Southern Baptist Cooperative Program
• Today, the convention includes more than 15 million
members at 46,000-plus churches. These members
support activities that include international
missions, theological education, religious advocacy,
and financial services, among others. To coordinate
the support of all these activities, the SBC operates
the Cooperative Program. Through the program,
each member church gives a percentage of receipts
to the convention. The program begins with
individual church members who give a tithe to the
church. This process provides a unified budget for
the SBC and supports ministry work at the state,
national, and global levels.
