Dr. Ronnie Floyd founded the Cross Church School of Ministry in 2013 to help those called to spiritual leadership. As a one-year program, students function as active members of the Cross Church ministry team, gaining practical experience in areas like outreach development and administrative leadership. Students receive mentorship from an assigned Cross Church minister, who guides them as they learn by doing and supports them to use their skills without fear of failure. Introduction
Professional school counselors serve a vital role in maximizing student achievement. Incorporating leadership, advocacy and collaboration, professional school counselors promote equity and access to opportunities and rigorous educational experiences for all students. Professional school counselors support a safe learning environment and work to safeguard the human rights of all members of the school community. Collaborating with other stakeholders to promote student achievement, professional school counselors address the needs of all students through prevention and intervention programs that are a part of a comprehensive school counseling program. In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. mission to invest in people and spread the Gospel. In 2013, Dr.
Ronnie Floyd founded the Cross Church School of Ministry to help
those called to spiritual leadership.
3. About the
Cross Church
School of
Ministry
As a one-year program, the Cross Church School of Ministry
functions much as residency does in the medical field. Those who
have chosen ministry as their vocation are welcome to come and
enhance their formal education with practical experience.
Program participants function as active members of the Cross
Church ministry team and take on all responsibilities such as
outreach development and the administrative leadership.
4. About the
Cross Church
School of
Ministry
In undertaking these duties, students in the School of Ministry
receive the support of an assigned Cross Church minister as
mentor. These mentors are able to guide the students and support
them as they learn by doing, giving them the chance to use their
skills without fear of failure. The mentorship relationship also
includes an Oxford-style learning environment, where students
meet with mentors for a round-table discussion once per week.
This allows students to reflect on their experiences and engage
their minds in the next stage of their professional learning.
