2. ORIGIN OF THE MOVIE
Oblivion is a 2013 American post-
apocalyptic science fiction film based on Joseph
Kosinski's Radical Comics-edited unpublished
graphic novel of the same name. The film was
co-written, produced and directed by Kosinski. It
stars Tom Cruise and Olga Kurylenko. The film
was released in the U.S. on April
19, 2013. According to Kosinski, Oblivion pays
homage to science fiction films of the 1970s.[11]
3. ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Joseph Kosinski (born May 3, 1974) is
an American television commercial and
feature film director best known for
his computer graphics and computer
generated imagery work. He made his
big-screen directorial debut with
the Disney Digital 3-D science fiction
film Tron: Legacy, the sequel to the
1982 film Tron. His previous work has
primarily been with CGI related
television commercials including the
"Starry Night" commercial for Halo
3 and the award-winning "Mad World"
commercial for Gears of War.
5. MORGAN FREEMAN
Morgan Freeman[2] (born June 1, 1937) is an
American actor, film director, and narrator.
Freeman has received Academy
Awardnominations for his performances
in Street Smart, Driving Miss Daisy, The
Shawshank Redemption and Invictus, and won
the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 2005
for Million Dollar Baby. He has also won
a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors
Guild Award. Freeman has appeared in many
other box office
hits, including Unforgiven, Glory, Robin Hood:
Prince of Thieves, Seven, Deep Impact, The
Sum of All Fears, Bruce Almighty, Along Came
a Spider, The Dark Knight trilogy, March of the
Penguins and The Lego Movie. He is known for
his distinctively smooth, deep voice. He got his
first break as part of the cast of The Electric
Company.
6. TOM CRUISE
Tom Cruise (born Thomas Cruise
Mapother IV; July 3, 1962), is an
American film actor and producer. He
has been nominated for three Academy
Awards and has won three Golden Globe
Awards. He started his career at age 19
in the 1981 film Endless Love. After
portraying supporting roles
in Taps (1981) and The
Outsiders (1983), his first leading role
was in Risky Business, released in
August 1983. Cruise became a full-
fledged movie star after starring
as Maverick in Top Gun (1986). He is
well known for his role as secret
agent Ethan Hunt in the Mission:
Impossible film series between 1996 and
2011.
7. OLGA KURYLENKO
Olga Kurylenko (born 14 November
1979) is a French actress and
model. She was discovered as a model
at the age of 14 and at the age of 16
moved from Ukraine to Paris to pursue
a modelling career. Kurylenko started
her acting career in 2005. She found
success as an actress for her role
as Nika Boronina in the movie
adaptation of the video
game Hitman (2007), and then rose to
fame by playing Bond girl Camille
Montes in the 22nd James
Bond film, Quantum of Solace (2008).
More recently she starred inTerrence
Malick's To the Wonder (2012) and
alongside Tom
Cruise in Oblivion (2013).

In North America, the film earned $37.1 million during the course of its
opening weekend, including $5.5 million derived of IMAX screenings from 323
theaters, making it Cruise's best North American opening outside of
the Mission: Impossible film series and War of the Worlds.
The film closed on June 27, 2013. Oblivion grossed $89,107,235 in the U.S.
and $197,061,337 internationally, bringing the worldwide total to
$286,168,572.
