George Romero (1940-2017) was an American film director, writer and editor known as "the godfather of zombies" for pioneering the zombie genre with his 1968 film Night of the Living Dead. Some of his other notable zombie films include Dawn of the Dead (1978) and Day of the Dead (1985). Over his career, Romero directed 17 films, wrote many more, and helped popularize the concept of the zombie apocalypse. He was also an actor in some of his own films and others such as The Silence of the Lambs.

• George was born In new York, his father being of Cuban
descent and his mother an American.
• George has divorced from Christine Forrest, which he met her
on the set of ‘ season of the witch’.
• He had three kids to Christine but he his now married and
living with Suzanne Desrocher in Toronto who he met while
filming ‘ land of the dead’.
• George Romero attend Pittsburgh Carnegie Mellon
university, in which he graduate from in 1960, then he when
on into his career which began shooting shorts film and
commercials.

• George Romero, is well known worldwide for his idea’s upon zombie
apocalypse/invasion.
• His nickname is ‘Godfather of Zombies’ because he is so well known
for his hypothetical zombie apocalypse ideas.
• Nearly all his work is based upon gruesome horror films, focusing
upon zombies.
• George was gave a Mastermind award at Spike TV scream in
2009, this was because George was foreseen as a genius upon ideas
in the area of horror and zombies.
• George has became an international idol and has became very
successful individual, having been credited as either a writer, editor
or actor in 27 films, in which he directed 17 films.
• George Romero was also featured in a call of duty black ops map
pack ‘ call of the dead’ which he voiced the zombie boss.
• He also did an appearance on episode 3 BBC’s ‘ A history of Horror
‘which he discussed his independent work on making ‘night of the
living dead’.
