Case Study Of Ethical Dilemmas In Public Hospitals
4. Ethical dilemmas in Public Hospitals in Thailand
Most organizations face ethical dilemmas that are situations in which there is a choice to be made
between two options, neither of which resolves the situation in an ethically acceptable manner. In
some cases, societal and personal ethical guidelines can provide dissatisfactory outcome for the
chooser. Ethical dilemmas consider that the chooser will abide by societal norms, such as codes of
law or policies given, in order to make the choice ethically impossible.
4.1. Case Study 1: Legalization of Abortion Pills in Thailand
According to the Thai law, abortions are illegal in Thailand, except for the girls under the age of 15
or with a serious illness, and when the pregnancy threatens the woman's health or results from rape
or incest. Actually, the abortion law is rarely enforced, and illegal abortions remain common and an
important public health issue for women in Thailand. There is evidence of wide public support led
by women's groups, some medical and legal professionals for reforming of abortion laws to widen
the circumstances under which an abortion is legal.
Over the past few years, the public health ministry has ordered a nationwide ... Show more content

Why Was the 2006 Thai Coup D’état Launched Against Prime...
On the night of Tuesday September 19th, 2006 the Royal Thai Army staged a coup d'état against the
elected government of Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra that eventually led to the over throw and
replacement of Shinawatra and the Thai Rak Thai (TRT) party. There are many reasons as to why
the 2006 Thai coup d'état was staged against Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his caretaker
government and a lot of it had to do with the political crisis of 2005 and early 2006, the
planning/timing of the coup, what his polices were and who did they benefit/who they were no
longer benefiting. Thaksin Shinwatra is a billionaire politician and businessman who entered politics
in 1994. In 1998 He founded the Thai Rak Thai (Thais love Thais) political ... Show more content

They occupied the building for twenty minutes before regrouping outside and continuing their

very large crowd. Police and foreign media estimated the turnout to be forty to fifty thousand. Some
local newspapers estimated that up to a hundred thousand attended (Epoch Times Thailand Staff,
February 4th 2006) There weren't just anti–Thaksin demonstrations at this time. On March 3rd 2006,
a pro–Thaksin rally at Sanam Luang arranged by the Thai Rak Thai were attended by a huge crowd,
local media reported that up to two hundred thousand people attended while some foreign media
reported up to a hundred and fifty thousand attended (The nation, March 8th 2006). Only two days
after the March 3rd pro–Thaksin rally, while Thaksin was campaigning for the April 2006 elections
in the rural areas, about fifty thousand of protesters in Bangkok demanded the resignation of the
Prime Minister. They roared "Thaksin Get Out" and "Restore Power to the King." The protesters
carried out the burning an effigy of him in a mock funeral as they chant anti–Thaksin slogans (BBC

The Impact Of Internet On East Asian Countries
The Concept of Internet Technology: An Analysis of Efficiency, Benefits and Hindrances of Internet
coverage across Sub–Saharan Africa and East Asian Countries. The internet provides a way for us to
connect and communicate with each other across various political and economic boundaries. Since
its inception couple of decades ago, we as humans have found doing certain things such as
communication, transportation and business aspects of our lives pretty easy than we did in the past.
The internet has improved various aspects in our community such as health, infrastructure, business
and education. But in this paper, I am going to explore the impacts the internet in particular as a
form of media technology has on East Asian Countries and its possible benefits for Sub–Saharan
Africa region in the area of politics. I also tend to analyse the competence of the internet in
enhancing the political processes of Thailand and its probable benefits for a country like Nigeria
ridiculed with poverty brought about by immense corruption. As we all know the internet as a form
of technology has its advantages as well as disadvantages in structuring our society this also is an
aspect that would be examined in this paper. At the end of this paper I hope to establish a point that
the introduction of highly effective internet services across Sub–Saharan countries in Africa would
increase its rate of globalization in this present age, where technology is an integral factor for
development. The

Medi A Thai Digital Media Company
SAWADDEE MEDIA
Abstract

Background
Sawaddee Media is a Thai digital media company that has its headquarter at Bangkok, Thailand. It
is the parent company of the Sawaddee Vision which is a famous cable television operator. All
Sawaddee TV & Appliances Stores, which are part of the company, provides free–of–charge digital
television information and services.
Sawaddee Media 's sale performance for recent quarter is no good at all. The number makes it more
difficult for the company to promote the new set of upcoming television series that is going to be

Success
Despite steep decline of recent sale number of our latest product, there are some positive signs that
show the potential recovery of our market. According to our official partnership back in July with
True Internet Corporation which is Thailand 's largest Internet provider, this creates a perfect
opportunity to challenge the market share that Samsung and LG are holding on the electronic
appliances industry. Moreover, in OLED (organic light–emitting diode) television market, Sawaddee
Media is still Thailand 's largest television manufacturers in that area with a market share by far
more than other players. The company has close to defeat all rivals who are failing to compete in the
tough competition from Sawaddee Media in the OLED TV market section and instead cleverly
focus mainly on their LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) products. However, regardless of how good the
products are, the company need to look for another new television innovation to deviate attention
towards Samsung 's new LCD TV technology.
Failure
What happen to Sawaddee Media can be obviously seen. It is Samsung 's and LG 's growing
popularity among the world television market. Last year, the company had to sell its DVD player
business to the Hitachi Group in order to generate money to support the latest television series
which turned out to be a big flop to the company. In the past, the company is used to be very

Thailand 's Current Form Of Government
Thailand, a nation located in Southeast Asia, is well–known for its complex and turbulent political
history. Similar to the United Kingdom, the country's current form of government is based on a
constitutional monarchy. A hereditary Thai king serves as the head of state while a Prime Minister is
elected by a parliamentary government. Since the infamous 1932 revolution conducted by Royal
Thai Army officers and members of the country's wealthy, elite bureaucracy that put an end to the
country's absolute monarchy form of government, Thailand has experienced many military
interventions in its political system that have included 19 coups and coup attempts. These have been
conducted, until recently, to maintain the political power of the aristocracy and ward off perceived
threats. As a result, the political and economic resources of the country are controlled by an
aristocracy, and democracy has been in a constant state of flux for over 80 years. To understand the
complexity of Thailand's government, one must be aware and knowledgeable about how their
culture impacts the country's citizens' standing and status in society. A centuries–old culture based
on status derived from proximity to the monarchy dominates the political system in Thailand. The
"sakdhina" system, as it is referred to by the Thais, is a place of honor derived from ownership of
land granted to a citizen by the king (Albritton and Thawilwadee 3). Since the 1932 revolution, the
term has evolved to mean a citizen's

Gender In Thai Culture Essay
The role of gender can be different in accordance with different cultures and traditions. There are
millions of culture and tradition in all around the world, and they can have different practices, social
aspects, values and the role of gender in society. The role of gender can be evaluated and analyzed
among different cultures, for example, the American culture, the Thai culture, and the Omani
Culture.
With regard to the Thai culture, it can mention that Thai culture has influenced by various religion–
based practices because the 95% of the country are following the "Theravada Buddhist" religious

However, the gender role is widely changing into the Thai culture and women are taking more

history have studied for the roles of gender.
During the mid of 13th century, Thai culture was very much traditional and followed by the feudal
society. Moreover, the role of women was specified by the Thai Buddhism that was working under
the complete monarchy structure. After this, the time period of post–1932 revolution has studied that
also practices the constitutional monarchy situations and rules for women. On the whole, the women
in Thai Culture are the victim of hierarchical structure and the Buddhist patriarchy as well. In the
end, the research shows that the Western modernization has increased the decrease into Buddhist
patriarchy and other hierarchical structure for women.

The company was founded by Mr. Chaleo Yoovidhya in 1956. It began by importing chemicals and
materials from Europe to Thailand. The company saw success with T.C. Mycin, the best–selling
antibiotic in Thailand at the time. Eventually, Mr. Chaleo pursued other ventures which led to the
creation of Red Bull in 1975. The drink began being distributed to nearby countries in 1982. By
1987, Mr. Chaleo teamed up with Mr. Dietrich Mateschitz to bring Red Bull to Europe. The success
with the popular energy drink turned Mr. Chaleos focus to the beverage business. On March 2012,
Chaleo died. His assets were divvied up among his children and grandchildren, many of whom now

Thailand has experienced flooding since ancient times, with the annual monsoons as the crucial
factor. This circumstance happened in case of flooding in 2011; there were five tropical monsoons
during 25th July 2011 – 16th January 2012 which originated from the northern region in August and
became severe in September which caused floods throughout the central region of Thailand of
approximately 14,241 Square Kilometers in November 2011. The afflicted area of flooding covered
65 provinces and killed 657 persons at that time. The case of Thailand flooding in 2011 drew
attention among scholars and communities towards finding improvements in regional watershed
management in the future. Basically, the perception towards water management in Thailand was
more concerned with the water scarcity issue in drought period rather than the issue of excessive
water in the monsoon period, and the perception in flood disaster relief was addressed as the social
welfare relief activity. As a result, the flood disaster management was concerned with a defensive
approach rather than an offensive approach. The aspect of multi–boundary management was stated
as one necessary factor in large–scale disaster management; there was no organization that could
deal with flood situation as a cross–jurisdiction organ in a professional way, although each
governmental organ and division had data and information related to the flood situation

and the southern portion is dense rainforest. The middle land is mostly flat farmland. The weather is
mainly hot and humid, only the mountains will get much cold weather, and it only experiences three
seasons spring, summer, and fall. Thailand has a population of 68,414,135 and almost half of that

are talking about Facebook used as Blended Learning tools. They have their own purposes but still
having the save theme. The respondents in their studies are university students. Students are giving
their opinion regarding Blended Learning and Facebook. Turkish IT students preferred direct online

Makro, a whole sale retail outlet holds 16% of the market share (Jitpleecheep, 2014: Appendix B).
The retail industry of Thailand accounts up to 1.4 trillion baht, which is close to 27 billion pounds.
40% of 1.4 trillion baht is from the modern trade which incorporates the major hypermarkets and
their online shopping websites (Appendix C). It is expected that over time, the market of the retail
industry is to grow by 3% to 5% each year, thereby a consistent competition is expected for Tesco
Lotus and Big C super centres. In terms of online market, the global online grocery sales accounted
for only 4% of all food retailers (Mintel, 2014; Appendix D). The internet has indeed penetrated
greatly into Thai consumers. Currently over 31% of the consumers use the internet, with majority of
them being within the age group of 15 to 29 years old (Appendix E). It is easily anticipate that

averted in 7 years, and the rate of STI also fell dramatically.
Though the government did not condone prostitution, they were aware that they could not control it
the disease was spreading fast with drug users, sex workers, those with STIs and blood donors was

The 100% Condom program" was successful at greatly reducing the cases of new HIV infection

SAWASDEE MEDIA
Abstract
This proposal takes a look on how to save Sawasdee Media company from sinking business. It
concerns with the background of the company, methodology of analysis, and recommendation. The
objective of this proposal is to identify and analyze possible investment projects that are most likely
to be successful in the future. The study points out some reasons that indicate the need of
reorganization of the firm. For financial analysis part, net present value (NPV) and internal rate of
return (IRR) are highly involved in determining the level of project value. In addition, it also

The company staked most of its outlay to the latest TV set, WT–23, in developing, producing and
marketing the product that turned out to be very infamous to the market. In total, the firm spent
more than 80 million Baht for WT–23. Although many electronic experts criticize product 's lack of
innovation and poor performance and many journalists see the future of the company as a downturn,
the company promised the new product launch to be a big step for media technology.
Success
Recently, Sawasdee Media completed official partnership contract with True Internet Corporation
which is Thailand 's leading Internet provider. This agreement is considered to be a big step for the
company because True Internet Corporation had overall 36% market share in the broadband market
in Thailand and 66% share in Bangkok according to the Bangkok Post report. The contract creates a
perfect opportunity that the firm can use to benefit the new project in the future.
Failure
Last year, the company had to sell its DVD player business to the Hitachi Group in order to generate
money to support the latest television series which turned out to be a big flop to the company. In the
past, the company was used to be very adaptable to several business obstacles whether it is financial
crisis or threat from newcomers. But nowadays, Sawasdee Media, who ever was the number one of
largest television manufacturer in Thailand, is losing its title after a poor

The Impact Of Movie Release On Tourism Demand Over Countries
THE IMPACT OF MOVIE RELEASE ON TOURISM DEMAND OVER COUNTRIES:
EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF THAILAND TOURISM INDUSTRY
Saisang Apichatvorapong (Management)
Directed by Yeujun Yoon
ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this thesis is to find out more information about the impacts of movie release
that has on the tourism demand in Thailand. Since it has been proved that movies can influence
tourists to visit a location shown in the movies (Riley & Van Doren, 1992), this paper will estimate
the number of tourist arrivals from movies that has the filming locations in Thailand and released
overseas based on the main economic factors such as gross domestic product (GDP), distance, and
relative price, which are often used in the tourism demand equation. Seeing that the Thai tourism
industry performs an important role in the national economy, accurate estimates of inbound tourism
from movie–induced tourism can deliver useful information for both the government and private
sectors working in these areas.
Secondary data were collected for this study, where we based on 42 countries from the year between
1997 to 2014. The study employs an econometric model of tourism demand and estimated using the
method of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS).
The result shows that 2 out of the 4 hypotheses were supported. As expected, it indicates that movie
release and GDP are positively related to tourist arrivals, while distance and relative prices are
negatively related to tourist arrivals. Hence, the higher the number

Media Bias And Stereotypes : A Long Way Of Justify The Truth
Media Bias and Stereotypes: a long way to justify the truth
In the twenty–first century, China accomplishes great achievements in its economy, technology and
diplomacy. As it becomes a country that has the fastest increasing rate in economy, masters
spacecraft–building technics, and actively participates in International meetings and competitions, it
draws the foreign media's attention on exploring the country itself and presenting how its society
and people are to their people who may not know much about those. However, although foreign
media reports more frequently about China, many information they give out are one–sided and
biased; their inabilities to portray a fair image of this country's society and its people often lead to
stereotyping by foreigners and tensions between them and Chinese people living across the world.
These bias should be corrected and eliminated from media's report.
Media fails to present a around picture of things happen in China and lacks necessary clarifications
in their reports often cause stereotyping Chinese people and society by foreigners. In Gene Luen
Yang's Comic book American Born Chinese, the character Chin–Kee, who dresses like a
government officer in ancient China and can't differ "l" and "r" when he speaks English, ridicules
how foreigners often stereotype Chinese and think that all Chinese dress like characters in tradition
costumes and speak bad English. The reason why they do so is because is that Chinese are often

No Escape Orientalism
I want to research whether portrayals of Orientalism in the media are used to retroactively justify
decisions such as imperialism or the Vietnam War. I chose this topic because I found Edward Said's
theory of Orientalism very thought–provoking and wondered if it can apply to contemporary society.
In addition to that, I have not seen a lot of contemporary analysis on Orientalism of Southeast Asia.
My initial inspiration was when I watched the film No Escape, which seemed blatantly racist and
problematic. I narrowed and refined my topic by further researching the concepts of Orientalism and
otherness, and considered how they could be applied to this film. Sources that have been key in
defining my research topic include scholar articles on Orientalism ... Show more content on

I found it interesting that the film never specified the exact setting and only referred to it as a
Southeast Asian country. I thought that that this conflated all Southeast Asian countries and
classified them as "the other." However, upon further research, I discovered that No Escape was
inspired by an insurrection in Thailand (Chang). Dowdle chose not to identify the setting in order to
honor the request of the Thai government (de Souza). To comply with the Thai government, Dowdle
also had to avoid using the Thai language, the color yellow because it is associated with the king,
and depictions of the Buddha (de Souza). In addition to that, Dowdle claimed that it was actually an
anti–interventionist message because the rebellion arose from American exploitation of Southeast
Asian resources, notably the water manufacturing company that Jack Dwyer works for (de Souza).
However, I think that this message falls short due to the portrayal of the Southeast Asian rebels as
relentlessly violent, dehumanized killers. This particularly reminded me of Orientalism, which
argues that the West reduces foreign countries–such as those in Southeast Asia–to primitive, broad
stereotypes in order to establish the West as superior to them (Said). In the past, this idea has been
used to justify Western imperialism because it falsely framed imperialism as helping civilize a less

However, it still had service contracts for moving boxes from A to B as a solution to its logistics and
the service contract did not fully capture those benefits within Tesco Lotus.
While Linfox was on service contract with Tesco Lotus, there were lots of duplications that were not
necessarily valuable to any side in the business. For example both were hiring porters and transport
managers, etc. There was also overlap in accountability. For example, the warehouse was blaming
transport and transport blaming warehouse for losses.
Linfox vision is to be the supply chain partner of choice for customers across Asia Pacific. It is also
focused on earning the right to grow with selected customers as opposed to growing by increasing
customer base. A prerequisite to this is alignment: Linfox had to align itself to customers in order to
earn the right to grow with them to employee the pillars of business: safety, profitable growth,
customer focus, investment, operations excellence, people focus, IT, and improvement to the
environment. Tesco Lotus business was continually changing and evolving and the previous service

The Country of Thailand
When we talk about Thailand, the first thing that would cross our mind is the foods and cultural
values that has been preserved for centuries. Not to forget beautiful beaches and also the magical
environmental values that are essential for tourism. All these values makes Thailand looks amazing
in the eyes of tourist and also people from all around the globe.
But despite these positive aspect, there are also dark sides that has been illuminating the people of
Thailand for centuries. Havoc and chaos has become a normal scenario in the political culture of
Thailand since early 90's. Many prime ministers has come and gone since that period but the
political condition in Thailand is still as worst as it looks.
Thailand is our nearest neighbour that has many similarities in culture and even the political
background. Lets forget about the riot that has been happening even long before Thaksin regime.
Lets focus on why these riots has been continuedly happening without any solution. What are the
reasons?
In Thailand, the government uses an autocratic leadership style where almost everything is
controlled by the government. They control everything including the legislative and judiciary system
in order to control any transaction and also the people of Thailand. The government also have full
access to the media where they control everything including what the media station feeds the viewer

Prevention Of Hiv / Aids
Prevention of HIV/Aids in Thailand
Abstract This paper looks at increases in the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Thailand in the early 1990
's and the action taken to address this health issue. As a solution, the National AIDS committee of
Thailand took an initiative to form the "100 Percent Condom Program". This program not only
made condom use a requirement but also promoted health education in regard to HIV/AIDS. One of
the major sources of the spread of HIV in Thailand was the increase of the disease among sex
workers. After the success of the "100 Percent Condom Program" in Thailand, it has been
implemented in various other Asian countries such as Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam,
China, Mongolia, and Laos.

Globally, HIV is a huge threat to health. A large number of HIV/AIDS infected people are from sub–
Saharan Africa. The life expectancy in this region is about 47 years. Without the presence of HIV,
the life expectancy could be extended to 62 years. An estimated number of 20 million children had
parents who died from HIV/AIDS. Mother to child HIV transmission is another global issue. Over
90 percent of 5.1 million children infected with HIV have gotten infected from their mother. Among
the millions of people who are affected by HIV/AIDS, groups such as intravenous drug users, sex
workers, and men who have sex with men are particularly affected by the disease. Young adults are
also among the groups that are most infected with HIV. In 2012, adolescents accounted for "39
percent of all new infections and 15 percent of all people living with HIV" (HIV & AIDS Vulnerable
Groups, AVERT)
Study Methodology The majority of sexual transmission of HIV occurred through the means of sex
workers. Sex workers did not ask clients to use condoms because, clients preferred unprotected sex.
Sex workers were not educated about HIV transmission and the threat it could have on their health
so they did not use protection. As a way to fight the spread of HIV/Aids, the Ratchaburi Province in

Software in the Land of Smiles (a study of software piracy in Thailand)
1.Overview Walk down the street in Thailand and amongst the numerous trinket vendors, you will
find one that has catalog of software titles. The same catalogs can also be found at the major
shopping malls at numerous retailers. Flip through the catalogs, choose your software titles, and pay

Asia ranks as the number one region for dollar losses. China is the leader in dollar loss and Thailand

Tourism As A Tourist Country Essay
Tourism Advertised in Thailand
Many people who travel are attracted to an authentic experience often portrayed by the media that
can create an opportunity to learn about different cultures. Gaining tourism knowledge about foreign
cultures is now an easy task through the development of globalization. Stroma Cole, an activist
researcher on tourism development, suggests that growth in tourism should be thought of as a "cause
and consequence of globalization" (Chambers, 2010 p, 21) and that the development of high
technology in the media has been very influential on promoting tourism. The media has become a
main source for travel information that has direct effect on decisions people make on where to
travel, tourist trends, and on their expectations of their experience (Leung, Law Hoof, & Buhalis
2013). I chose to research advertisements of Thailand, a popular tourist country, because of its
recent dramatic increase in the number of tourists since the start of the new millennium, and because
it has appealed to me as a tourist attraction. Through my analysis of advertisements of multiple
media sources I have found examples of advertisements that promote the branding of cultural and
indigenous tourism in Thailand. I relate to Erve Chambers, the author of Native Tours (2010)
research on the "authentic image" that is used in many ads to catch the attention of tourists and I
discuss how people do not always experience what was promoted in the media.

Researcher from the University of Cambridge, Michael Pitout, explained that Thai media have been
used as a tool for discrediting competitors. For example, during the protestation, local television
stations were highlighting the protests' positive advantages and antigovernment media were

media today is driven by economic power such as gossip news which is written for selling
celebrities' scandalous news, fake video clips which are created for advertising the products, and
distortion the news for protecting wealthy organizations. However, solving media bias problem in
Thailand is quite different from the U.S. because some public servants are persuaded to help
concealing media's offense in exchange for money. Thai government is trying to solve the problem
by increasing punishment which is not effective enough for millions of media in the country.

My World Issues Class Analysis
Throughout the course of my World Issues class, numerous themes and concepts were explored
spanning across entire time periods and geographical locations. The first exercise completed in class
was a visual representation of the connections between all themes categorized under the umbrella
term: "world issues." This included diversity, economic disparity, environmental issues, global
health, nutrition/food security, accessibility, human rights, peace/war, media, education, and identity.
Each of us found connection between every one of these themes; they are simultaneously
independent and interconnected– a change in any sector can affect all of the others. One major
connection I found in the course was the concept of citizens clinging to social status quo and the
resulting political/interpersonal violence due to that close–minded rejection of difference. For
example, violent acts by Buddhist monks in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of these issues can be boiled down go a couple major themes– that of power politics, identity
politics, religious differences, and how all of these themes are affected through the lense of the
media. One key example we talked about was the relationship between Buddhists from Thailand.
The deeply rooted history of Buddhism in Thailand can be linked with the political struggles
between that of communism and capitalism. Certain Buddhist monks like Phra Kittiwut Tho argue
that the murder of communists would not violate any of the nonviolent ideologies of Buddhism.
This has an interesting link with the historical perception of Christianity in the 1100's around the
first crusade when The Pope argued that war and killing were acceptable under theological terms if
it was against non–christian people. The conflict in Thailand demonstrates to me that, even though
religion and politics might be somewhat separated, there is an inherent link when pushed hard

they would like to have daughters, while only 27% expressed the desire to have sons (Jubilee, p. 3).
Widespread poverty has lead families to consider children, especially females, as economic burdens.
Children and women have dropped to the lowest strata of the socioeconomic scale, and have thus
suffered the most (Jubilee, p. 4). The closing of options for many families have compelled parents to
force their children to fend for themselves and in some circumstances it has led people to sell their
children, especially daughters (World Congress, backgrounder, p. 1).
The influx of western ideals is another factor that has contributed to the victimization of many
women and children by the sex industry. The spread of consumerism by the mass media and through
face to face interactions with western tourists has caused Thais to increasingly value money and
consumer items. Materialism has led many to value possessions more then their sense of self worth.
This materialistic greed has lead many poor families to sell their children in order to obtain material
possessions. The market value of a child is between 7,000 and 30,000 baht, depending on the
physical attractiveness of the child (Jubilee, p.2). To families living in constant poverty and who
only earn 5,000 baht a year 30,000 baht is very enticing.

Military Force in Thailand´s Political System
As far as we understand, since the military coup d'etat which takes place in 1932, military force has
been one of the major actor in the political system. Unlike political leader and political parties that
aims to win election in order to form the Government and at the same time have a control on the
power; on the other hand, the military force of Thailand which is commonly known as Thai Royal
Army feels that they are the 'stateman', which are responsible for the future of the state. Therefore,
the intervention in the politics is itself because of the sense of responsibility of the military force to
'correct' what is seem to be 'incorrect' by the political leader of the civilian Government. This is
because, in Thailand, the military force is not answerable to the civilian Government, but they are
only answerable and accountable to the Nation and the King of Thailand. That is the main reason,
why before, a military coup de' tat takes place, the Thai Royai Army must firstly obtain the
permission by the King of Thailand; in which the King will only permits a coup de' tat that is for the
sake of nation. As stated before, it is the duty of military force to 'correct' thing which is regarded as
'incorrect', such as scandal, corruption, bribery and others. During the year 2000 to 2006, the
Government under Thaksin Shinawatra is believed to be corrupted through several case of
corruption in various projects and purchase of assets by the Prime Minister itself, Thaksin

The company will transport raw materials from its home country to Thailand for the cement
manufacture. This will be a foreign direct investment since the venture will utilize Thailand labor in
the process of production. Following a market research conducted by the company among Ten Asian
States, Thailand was identified as the most favorable market destination in Asia for the Bamburi
cement company's products. Thailand has several major cities among them Bangkok, Nonthaburi,
Pak Kret, Hat Yai, Chiang Mai among other heavily populated and built cities. The company will
however face stiff competition from local cement companies like the Siam cement and the Portland
cement. The company must therefore enter the market with a competitive style to market and sell its
produce. The company will operate in Bangkok as the initial outlet point, and plough back generated
profits by establishing branches in Nonthaburi and Hat Yai. The cement manufacturing plant will be
located in Yala where the research committee has identified a suitable location for a processing
plant.

2.1. Barriers to market introduction Market entry of a new product is always a challenging task and
the company must put measures in place to withstand the unanticipated challenges ( Peterson, 2012).
To begin with, the product will experience tariff barrier. This is because the company is foreign to

  • 1. Case Study Of Ethical Dilemmas In Public Hospitals 4. Ethical dilemmas in Public Hospitals in Thailand Most organizations face ethical dilemmas that are situations in which there is a choice to be made between two options, neither of which resolves the situation in an ethically acceptable manner. In some cases, societal and personal ethical guidelines can provide dissatisfactory outcome for the chooser. Ethical dilemmas consider that the chooser will abide by societal norms, such as codes of law or policies given, in order to make the choice ethically impossible. 4.1. Case Study 1: Legalization of Abortion Pills in Thailand According to the Thai law, abortions are illegal in Thailand, except for the girls under the age of 15 or with a serious illness, and when the pregnancy threatens the woman's health or results from rape or incest. Actually, the abortion law is rarely enforced, and illegal abortions remain common and an important public health issue for women in Thailand. There is evidence of wide public support led by women's groups, some medical and legal professionals for reforming of abortion laws to widen the circumstances under which an abortion is legal. On the night of Tuesday September 19th, 2006 the Royal Thai Army staged a coup d'état against the elected government of Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra that eventually led to the over throw and replacement of Shinawatra and the Thai Rak Thai (TRT) party. There are many reasons as to why the 2006 Thai coup d'état was staged against Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his caretaker government and a lot of it had to do with the political crisis of 2005 and early 2006, the planning/timing of the coup, what his polices were and who did they benefit/who they were no longer benefiting. They roared "Thaksin Get Out" and "Restore Power to the King." The protesters carried out the burning an effigy of him in a mock funeral as they chant anti–Thaksin slogans (BBC News, March 5th 2006). The Impact Of Internet On East Asian Countries The Concept of Internet Technology: An Analysis of Efficiency, Benefits and Hindrances of Internet coverage across Sub–Saharan Africa and East Asian Countries. The internet provides a way for us to connect and communicate with each other across various political and economic boundaries. Since its inception couple of decades ago, we as humans have found doing certain things such as communication, transportation and business aspects of our lives pretty easy than we did in the past. The internet has improved various aspects in our community such as health, infrastructure, business and education. But in this paper, I am going to explore the impacts the internet in particular as a form of media technology has on East Asian Countries and its possible benefits for Sub–Saharan Africa region in the area of politics. I also tend to analyse the competence of the internet in enhancing the political processes of Thailand and its probable benefits for a country like Nigeria ridiculed with poverty brought about by immense corruption. As we all know the internet as a form of technology has its advantages as well as disadvantages in structuring our society this also is an aspect that would be examined in this paper. At the end of this paper I hope to establish a point that the introduction of highly effective internet services across Sub–Saharan countries in Africa would increase its rate of globalization in this present age, where technology is an integral factor for development. Success Despite steep decline of recent sale number of our latest product, there are some positive signs that show the potential recovery of our market. According to our official partnership back in July with True Internet Corporation which is Thailand 's largest Internet provider, this creates a perfect opportunity to challenge the market share that Samsung and LG are holding on the electronic appliances industry. Moreover, in OLED (organic light–emitting diode) television market, Sawaddee Media is still Thailand 's largest television manufacturers in that area with a market share by far more than other players. The company has close to defeat all rivals who are failing to compete in the tough competition from Sawaddee Media in the OLED TV market section and instead cleverly focus mainly on their LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) products. However, regardless of how good the products are, the company need to look for another new television innovation to deviate attention towards Samsung 's new LCD TV technology. • 10. Thailand 's Current Form Of Government Thailand, a nation located in Southeast Asia, is well–known for its complex and turbulent political history. Similar to the United Kingdom, the country's current form of government is based on a constitutional monarchy. A hereditary Thai king serves as the head of state while a Prime Minister is elected by a parliamentary government. Since the infamous 1932 revolution conducted by Royal Thai Army officers and members of the country's wealthy, elite bureaucracy that put an end to the country's absolute monarchy form of government, Thailand has experienced many military interventions in its political system that have included 19 coups and coup attempts. These have been conducted, until recently, to maintain the political power of the aristocracy and ward off perceived threats. As a result, the political and economic resources of the country are controlled by an aristocracy, and democracy has been in a constant state of flux for over 80 years. To understand the complexity of Thailand's government, one must be aware and knowledgeable about how their culture impacts the country's citizens' standing and status in society. A centuries–old culture based on status derived from proximity to the monarchy dominates the political system in Thailand. The "sakdhina" system, as it is referred to by the Thais, is a place of honor derived from ownership of land granted to a citizen by the king (Albritton and Thawilwadee 3). The Impact Of Movie Release On Tourism Demand Over Countries THE IMPACT OF MOVIE RELEASE ON TOURISM DEMAND OVER COUNTRIES: EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF THAILAND TOURISM INDUSTRY Saisang Apichatvorapong (Management) Directed by Yeujun Yoon ABSTRACT The main purpose of this thesis is to find out more information about the impacts of movie release that has on the tourism demand in Thailand. Since it has been proved that movies can influence tourists to visit a location shown in the movies (Riley & Van Doren, 1992), this paper will estimate the number of tourist arrivals from movies that has the filming locations in Thailand and released overseas based on the main economic factors such as gross domestic product (GDP), distance, and relative price, which are often used in the tourism demand equation. Seeing that the Thai tourism industry performs an important role in the national economy, accurate estimates of inbound tourism from movie–induced tourism can deliver useful information for both the government and private sectors working in these areas. Secondary data were collected for this study, where we based on 42 countries from the year between 1997 to 2014. Media Bias And Stereotypes : A Long Way Of Justify The Truth Media Bias and Stereotypes: a long way to justify the truth In the twenty–first century, China accomplishes great achievements in its economy, technology and diplomacy. As it becomes a country that has the fastest increasing rate in economy, masters spacecraft–building technics, and actively participates in International meetings and competitions, it draws the foreign media's attention on exploring the country itself and presenting how its society and people are to their people who may not know much about those. However, although foreign media reports more frequently about China, many information they give out are one–sided and biased; their inabilities to portray a fair image of this country's society and its people often lead to stereotyping by foreigners and tensions between them and Chinese people living across the world. These bias should be corrected and eliminated from media's report. I chose this topic because I found Edward Said's theory of Orientalism very thought–provoking and wondered if it can apply to contemporary society. In addition to that, I have not seen a lot of contemporary analysis on Orientalism of Southeast Asia. My initial inspiration was when I watched the film No Escape, which seemed blatantly racist and problematic. I found it interesting that the film never specified the exact setting and only referred to it as a Southeast Asian country. I thought that that this conflated all Southeast Asian countries and classified them as "the other." However, upon further research, I discovered that No Escape was inspired by an insurrection in Thailand (Chang). Dowdle chose not to identify the setting in order to honor the request of the Thai government (de Souza). To comply with the Thai government, Dowdle also had to avoid using the Thai language, the color yellow because it is associated with the king, and depictions of the Buddha (de Souza). In addition to that, Dowdle claimed that it was actually an anti–interventionist message because the rebellion arose from American exploitation of Southeast Asian resources, notably the water manufacturing company that Jack Dwyer works for (de Souza). However, I think that this message falls short due to the portrayal of the Southeast Asian rebels as relentlessly violent, dehumanized killers. This particularly reminded me of Orientalism, which argues that the West reduces foreign countries–such as those in Southeast Asia–to primitive, broad stereotypes in order to establish the West as superior to them (Said). As a solution, the National AIDS committee of Thailand took an initiative to form the "100 Percent Condom Program". This program not only made condom use a requirement but also promoted health education in regard to HIV/AIDS. One of the major sources of the spread of HIV in Thailand was the increase of the disease among sex workers. • 62. Tourism As A Tourist Country Essay Tourism Advertised in Thailand Many people who travel are attracted to an authentic experience often portrayed by the media that can create an opportunity to learn about different cultures. Gaining tourism knowledge about foreign cultures is now an easy task through the development of globalization. Stroma Cole, an activist researcher on tourism development, suggests that growth in tourism should be thought of as a "cause and consequence of globalization" (Chambers, 2010 p, 21) and that the development of high technology in the media has been very influential on promoting tourism. The media has become a main source for travel information that has direct effect on decisions people make on where to travel, tourist trends, and on their expectations of their experience (Leung, Law Hoof, & Buhalis 2013). I chose to research advertisements of Thailand, a popular tourist country, because of its recent dramatic increase in the number of tourists since the start of the new millennium, and because it has appealed to me as a tourist attraction. Through my analysis of advertisements of multiple media sources I have found examples of advertisements that promote the branding of cultural and indigenous tourism in Thailand. I relate to Erve Chambers, the author of Native Tours (2010) research on the "authentic image" that is used in many ads to catch the attention of tourists and I discuss how people do not always experience what was promoted in the media. The first exercise completed in class was a visual representation of the connections between all themes categorized under the umbrella term: "world issues." This included diversity, economic disparity, environmental issues, global health, nutrition/food security, accessibility, human rights, peace/war, media, education, and identity. Each of us found connection between every one of these themes; they are simultaneously independent and interconnected– a change in any sector can affect all of the others. One major connection I found in the course was the concept of citizens clinging to social status quo and the resulting political/interpersonal violence due to that close–minded rejection of difference. The deeply rooted history of Buddhism in Thailand can be linked with the political struggles between that of communism and capitalism. Certain Buddhist monks like Phra Kittiwut Tho argue that the murder of communists would not violate any of the nonviolent ideologies of Buddhism. This has an interesting link with the historical perception of Christianity in the 1100's around the first crusade when The Pope argued that war and killing were acceptable under theological terms if it was against non–christian people. Military Force in Thailand´s Political System As far as we understand, since the military coup d'etat which takes place in 1932, military force has been one of the major actor in the political system. Unlike political leader and political parties that aims to win election in order to form the Government and at the same time have a control on the power; on the other hand, the military force of Thailand which is commonly known as Thai Royal Army feels that they are the 'stateman', which are responsible for the future of the state. Therefore, the intervention in the politics is itself because of the sense of responsibility of the military force to 'correct' what is seem to be 'incorrect' by the political leader of the civilian Government. This is because, in Thailand, the military force is not answerable to the civilian Government, but they are only answerable and accountable to the Nation and the King of Thailand.
