In this video, we will be discussing child labour during the Industrial Revolution. Although the Industrial Revolution improved Britain in many ways
such as transportation, agriculture, and production of goods, many factories had to hire children to increase their income. We will also relate the history
of child labour to the use of child labour in the present day.
1. What is child labour and where did it originate?
Child labour is the employment of children for work. This deprives them the ability to go to school and can seriously damage their health. Although
there are many instances of children working throughout history, widespread use of child labour by large companies first appeared during the Industrial
Revolution. Factory machines did not require lots of adult strength to operate. Since children could be hired for less pay, they became the main target
for many factory owners.

During the late and early eighteenth and nineteenth centuries Great Britain started to industrialize. When the industrial revolution started the history

Poverty and its related problems are the two main factors, which lead to the cause of child labour around the world. They are both extreme dominant

The 2001 national census of India estimated the total number of child labour, aged 5–14, to be at 12.6 million. In 2001, out of a 12.6 million, about 12

living in London. He was working at a local mill until one day he was taken to work at "Mr. Watson 's Mill" near Preston. His brother was later

Child labour is defined as children who provide work and as a result of this, can possibly affect their mental and physical health. As well as this, if
the work interferes with their education or removes the option to go to school; it is classed as child labour (International Labour Organization

This 'excuse' hinders outsiders knowing exactly what is happening inside the factory. People didn't want to tell us about the factories whereabouts
either, as they were scared of getting physically assaulted by the security men surrounding the factory. At last we found a factory called June Textiles,
which manufactured products for both Nike and Gap, but no one would tell us more than that. Checking treatment of workers here was going to be a
huge task. The factory was well guarded and looked like any ordinary factory from the outside, but at that time we didn't know what harsh realities
