Character Analysis Of Toni DoierrBy Anthony Doerr
In this world, no one is made perfect because if they were perfect they wouldn't be humans. A person's life is never perfect and doesn't always work the
way they want it to. Everyone in this world goes through various devastating situations but only some can make it through into making life perfect.
Marie Laure, the protagonist of the short story is shown as blind through her eyes but not through her heart. She uses her imagination to picture
everything giving it a color and life, even if it is something we individuals may view as inferior. Throughout the text the author uses characterization to
convey the central idea through the description of the character and her thoughts. The central idea being conveyed is that imagination is what plays
with the brain which doesn't require you to see with the eyes but with the heart. In the excerpt by Anthony Doerr, Doerr uses characterization to
display the ways, in which having imagination is more crucial than having a vision as even setbacks are even turned into great positive outcomes.
Marie Laure is a blind character in the article who can be characterized as creative and imaginative. She is seen as those who doesn't require anyone
to help her as a blind person due to her high imagination in which sees believes she sees everything. She uses her flaws as a situation to learn from
and puts aside all the setbacks it may have creating it into something positive and elegant. For example, in the text it states, "Color – that's another

The Sympathization Of Women In William Shakespeare's Romeo...
Now, this is a sad truth that men aren't always the best, or as good as women when it comes to expressing emotions. It's not that they don't feel any pain
or happiness, the hidden truth is they don't show what they are feeling.
For them lovey–dovey stuff is more like elevator music to them. I mean it plays softly in the back of our heads, but most of the time, we're barley
listening. But, they do feel everything like women do. No fancy stuff, it's to plain and easy.
That is the reason why sympathize with any women trying to figure out how a guy really feels. It's not they can't talk about their feeling; they just not
express it by their actions and words.
Hey, ladies don't look that said, there is hope. See, the thing is most us, especially we girl over fantasy "LOVE'. Yes, we do, and the thanks to all
romantic movies and stories for creating that Juliet and Romeo or Cinderella that has given us false ideas about love stories. ... Show more content on

Hmm... I mean there is not harm to fantasies about your love story or Mr. Right, but expecting too much is like goofing up things badly.
Do you realize that how much pressure does it a man feels in bed and in a relationship? Well, the pressure of being perfect all the time, handling your
mood swings, understanding your dangerous silence, satisfy you in bed, pamper you, and so on. The list is goes on and on. Too sad! Isn't

My Grandmother Essay
My grandma has alzheimer's so, she can't remember anything that happened earlier that day or 5 minutes ago. I know that I can't get mad at her
when she doesn't remember things I just told her. I know that she will remember things about music or some things when she was a child. So, I
know some things she won't remember what I did sometimes. "Eileen, what did you do today?" my grandma asked again. My mom and I were
visiting my grandma. We were in her bedroom putting away her clothing and cleaning up because she can't. Her room is very homey, because we
put paintings and pictures up for her to make it look better, because if we didn't it would be really boring. "Well, I finished school a couple of
minutes," I replied. I know... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

just sitting there with a blank face, somewhere in wheelchairs and some had walkers.I smiled, then sat down to get my music ready. "HI, I'm
Eileen and I'm Pat's granddaughter, I'm in 6th grade and I'm 11 years old."I stated.I will be playing a couple songs for you, on the cello." I looked
at the music then my cello then the crowd, I played the first note it fine. I then could only look at the music because if I looked at the crowed I
would freeze up, then mess up. Later , when I was playing my last song. I looked at my grandma and she was sitting there looking at me and her
foot was tapping to the music. It made me happy I played for her. I finished and said thank you and went to go pack up all my things and then we
went to go say goodbye. We went back to where my grandma lives, it looks like a really house, there's a kitchen, a tv room and then there bedrooms
everyone has a roommate. So, it like college.Everyone was telling me, oh you did such a great job and I kept saying thank you. "You did a great job

Summary Of The Glass Mengotie And The Glass Menagerie
"Free as a bird. It's the next best thing to be... What ever happened to the life we once knew? Always made me feel so free!" This song, by the
Beatles, shares the well known idea of being free as a bird. Since the beginning of time, mankind has wondered what it would feel like to fly, to
travel around the world, and to be free. Humans have idolised the talents of birds for this reason. They can go wherever, whenever, and always
seem happy soaring through the sky at their own leisure. While birds used to all roam free, now, approximately 3,700,000 of the 8,300,000 birds
are being kept as household pets in the United States according to www.avma.org. That's about 44% of the birds in the United States that are kept
in cages. Naturally, these birds yearn to fly free and be happy, but instead they are trapped in tiny cages, or, for the lucky ones, some are thrown in a
cage as big as a living room television. This feeling of being trapped is how Tom Wingfield from The Glass Menagerie and Mamie from the poem
"Mamie" feel.
In the Glass Menagerie and the poem "Mamie," respectively, Tom Wingfield and Mamie both feel trapped in their horrible, hated lives. All Tom and
Mamie want is to be happy and feel free, but they can't because they are trapped in their society's social disadvantages.
In the Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, Tom Wingfield is living the disadvantageous life of the 1930s. At this time, theGreat Depression has
begun and WWII is on the way. Tom Wingfield, a

My Mother In My Life
I grew fearful by the minute. As I walked into the night, I wondered what my mother would say. I broke curfew, again. And my mother is as strict as
an Asian parent can get. I could never understand her overprotective nature. It had grown extreme to the point where I couldn't enjoy the little things in
life. As frustrated as I was, my mother wasn't always overprotective to this extent though. She grew extremely weary a few years ago when my father
and brother both died of brain tumors within the span of a year. It was easily the worst year a family could ever endure. Every day after my brother and
father died, I would pretend to be strong, not for my sake, but because someone had to hold the family together when my mother was falling apart.
I walked in and saw my younger brother, who fell asleep on the couch, but there was no sight of my mother. When I opened the creaking door of the
shared bedroom, my mother seemed half awake, with her eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling with quivering eyes. I wanted to avoid another
argument, but it seemed inevitable when she crawled out of her bed and fell onto her knees, her hands covering her tear–stained eyes. There were
many times I couldn't stand my mother, but anytime anyone sees his or her mother cry, that feeling destroys a part of your soul you can never seem
to get back. "What were you doing out? I was worried sick about you," my mother cried. "I was just taking a walk. It's not a big deal." Throughout the
years, I failed

Rhetorical Analysis Of Whether Rob Ford Should Still Be...
The mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford, has been through a lot in the past couple of months as a result he realizes that being the mayor of Toronto is not
easy. Therefore, the question is then reconsidered of whether Rob Ford should still be mayor of Toronto? This essay will compare a speech given by
Rob Ford on June 30, 2014 at City Hall in Toronto. This speech is for the citizens of Toronto and anyone who he had offended, he then apologized
for his actions and also to compare an editorial by The Star, written on Thursday May 01, 2014. This editorial is trying to target citizens of Toronto
and trying to make them see that Rob Ford isn't fit to be mayor and that he should just resign. The speech and editorial are both trying to reach the
audience in an effective way. This will be shown by comparing the tone, appeal and rhetorical devices. In the speech and the editorial, there are different
types of tones to capture the attention of the audience. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the speech Rob Ford says "I want to apologize, not just to the people of Toronto but to everyone who was hurt by my words and my actions. It
was never my intention to embarrass the city or offend my fellow members of council. I deeply regret some of the personal choices I have made."
(Ford). He knows that his actions were not acceptable and he would like the city to forgive him by using certain words which reflect him being
compassionate towards his audience. The influence this had on the audience is that, Rob Ford wants people to feel sympathy for him and he wants
people to know that he is full of regret and wants to redeem himself which he will only be able to do if he is granted another chance. Rob Ford is
using that passionate and convincing tone to be effective. In the editorial from The Star, it uses an outraged and passive voice. In the editorial it says

The Best Day Of My Life
I'm so sorry that I couldn't journey through life with you like an ordinary mother and child. I'm sorry that I couldn't lead you through life. I'm sorry
that I couldn't be there for you when times were tough. I'm sorry that I left you as soon as you were born but I had no choice. The day you were born
was the best day of my life, truly, I finally knew what it meant to become a mother and it was astounding how much responsibility I suddenly had on
my shoulders.
Your dad was in trouble withthe police for standing up for Jose, he was Jose's best friend and assisted him in every way possible so that he could
bring the stolen money back to the people, I'm sure that he would be so proud of what you've done son. Your Aunt has told me every single part of
your story and shown me the goodbye letter you sent to me. I don't know what you look like but I know that you must be a brave, bold person that
will fight for what's right. Just like your father you fought for the people not for yourself and you always stood up for what was right even when
everything was against you. The police beat you up, just like the police killed your father brutally, all my life has been ruined thanks to this
corrupt, unjust world of ours. The police held a personal grudge against your father because he was 'rude' and 'disrespectful' to the government and
to them. Your father was quite a character, he was the leader of all the protests against the government and was their main target. He conspired
against them on behalf of the people and ended up being killed for it. I could sense a feeling of anxiety as soon as you were born, I've put you through
so much already by being your mother. I feel so sorry for everything. Now I will tell my story, and how I put my life on the line for the country, for
the people, and most of you, for you.
It was 2am in the morning and today was the day, I had made a promise to myself that I would come and visit you, my son in your dump site. I had
been imprisoned ever since you were borne, which just so happened to be the same day as when your father, Russel died. He did not die in vain
though as he passed his legacy onto you, which was to bring peace and justice to our country. Anyways, I was chiseling through

A Short Story : A Story?
"Myrtle!" George calls from upstairs. "Yes?" There's no responce so I pad up the stairs to the bedroom. When I open the door he is sweating and
there is a frown plastered on his face. "What's the matter?" I question. "People talk you know Myrtle. Saying some guy has been flaunting you
downtown, buying you all these things. Do you think i'm stupid? I've worked too hard to get us this far. I'm not loosing you to some, some egg!"
He started to go into a coughing fit. I am utterly surprised by this outburst of his, i have to think of something to change the subject to. "George
honey, are you falling ill? Let me go make you some tea and we can talk about this." I start to head for the door. I reach for the handle but I hear his
clunky boots stomping behind me. "So you can run off with him and leave me here alone? I don't think so, we are moving. We're getting out of
this town within the week. We are going to restart our lives somewhere far away from here, from him. Until then, you are staying in this room!"
He grabs my arm and pulls me back away from the door. I've never seen him like this before, so strong and hard headed. Before I can say another
word he dashes out and closes the locks the door behind him. I quickly get up and pull desperately on the door handle."George you open this door
right this instant! You hear me?" "Start to pack our things. I'll come check on you in an hour." I franticly start to look around the small bedroom
for something to unlock the door. I can't believe that he just left me in here, he has never acted like this. I search everywhere for something to pry
the door open, which didn't take long because the room is so cramped. Nothing but disappointment. I'm not some kind of animal he can just lock
away when he's not happy. I'm over it, i'm over George. I need a real man that will treat me right, i need Tom. As soon as i can get to the phone i'll
call him. George tricked me, manipulated me into marrying him but Tom, Tom will treat me right. I just have to convince him that we can be
eachothers restart. This will work, it has to. I try once again to get the door to budge but I hear a loud engine pull up to the station. I run to the
window, i need to get out. A bright yellow car,

His name was Ode; He had blue eyes, grayish purple hair and was very tall. He was a nice man though we talked about life and I forgot all about what
was going on. Eventually we arrived at this castle– like building, gray stones, towers everywhere, green pastures, a drawbridge etc. I asked the man
why am I here and that's when the conversation got a whole lot of confusing. He began to explain that I was here for training because I was obviously
a demi–god and how my father or mother is a Norse god. It was too much to handle and I zoned out into a daze–like state. He just continued to talk till
we got to the entrance and a whole bunch of kid were there just to stare. I shyly got out the car and seen all different types of kids. Some with

They had a straw inserted in my arm with some kind of blue nectar in it. I mean it made me feel better but it was still kind of strange. Suddenly the

Take Me To Church Analysis
6. Fight Song: Take Me To Church– Hozier
I chose this song because in my point of view this is a fight song. Take me to church is a song about the perception of the church, or any powerful
institution such as government, about intimacy and sexuality, whatever the orientation. However the song focused in the people with
relationships with the same gender. I feel connected with the song because I have a sister who is lesbian, and sometimes I see how bad are
treated on social media just because of their choice. People badly judge them by stating "what kind of parent they can be" or " This is a
blasphemy for God". Sometimes people do not realize that in every community are good people but also bad people. I'm a religious person, and I
could sound rude but I do not support them, however, I'm not against them, I do not judge them like the rest of the people because is their live and
not mine. I like this song because it motive people to fight for equality , so they can not be longer cruelty judged by society.
7. Breaking Up: Tu Falta de Querer– Mon Laferte

singer sall all the countries that made up the zone conformed by Latinos. I feel connected with the song because it is like a hymn dedicated to all

Hero Of The Month: Student's Council Idea
HERO OF THE MONTH I believe that the student's council idea to have an election for "HERO OF THE MONTH" is a bad idea. Not everyone
would get chosen, people may get treated differently and students may get only voted just because they have friends to vote for them instead of a
student who really deserves it. First of all, not everyone will get a chance to be 'HERO OF THE MONTH'. In most public schools, students can
reach a total of 1500 students and with only nine months in a school year it's not a likely chance to not get chosen. That means that only nine students
would get chosen every school year. The next reason why I believe 'HERO OF THE MONTH' is a bad idea is students may get treated differently and
with most people today the other

Graduation Speech Essay
For some of you graduates, this will be the last ceremony you might ever sit through. Most of us, though, and I regret that I am in this group, will sit
through many more ceremonies –– ceremonies longer and more tedious that this or anything else you can imagine. If you think this is bad, try a college
graduation. Think, that is, attend a wedding. And, if just for a moment you think that that is bad, just be thankful you have never attended or will attend
a Bar Mitzvah.

What I did, was grab a random book off my book shelf. Then I chose a random page from that randomly chosen book. And then, I chose a random

and so let me share. My book was Emily Bronte's "Wuthering Heights," my page was page 10, chapter two. My quote, and as of now, theme for my

great theme. It works.
(Pull out pocket mirror)
I am tolerably attractive. As for my neighbor. Well, you be the judge. Really, what are the chances of two attractive people sitting next to each other.
Not likely. Why not try it yourselves. Visualize yourself, or if you have access to a mirror, look at yourself. Alluring huh? I bet you have to admit,
you're tolerably attractive. Who are you kidding? You are foxy. You are a fox. If you were aQuentin Tarantino movie, you would be Foxy Brown.
Now tear yourself away from your own adorable self and turn to your right. See that person. Pretty appalling. If it's a man, he's not very handsome is

Personal Narrative Essay : Sweet Childhood Memories
Sweet Childhood Memories We all have a beautiful place in our mind. I have a wonderful place that make me happy. Perhaps out of all my
siblings I was the only one who believed that this place was amazing. This place has created many memories in the past and still till this day
creating more memories. In my eyes my father's house is the best thing that happen to me in my childhood. As I visit my father's house it brings me
back to my childhood. My father lives in Fairport, Ohio and as I drive up the driveway you can see a giant white beautiful porch full of black and
white furniture that makes it even more beautiful. First, the giant white porch where we all sat to talk about everything then, the smells of food
coming out the door as they call us inside to eat. As I walk up the stairs all I smell is food which makes my stomach start growling because how
heavenly it smells. Sometimes I would be sitting down on the porch looking at the sunny sky and the smell of my father's rice and beans makes me
race inside to see if the white rice with the red beans and fried chicken would be ready soon. You can smell the sweet and milky flan that he makes
every Sunday. When we get ready to sit together for dinner you can see the table full with all types of different foods such as: Rice, beans, chicken,
sometimes pork or even fish then the sweet desserts come next to the juicy meats the flans, sweet pies and sometimes even cake which always was
sweet and moist. Finally, the treehouse that would make my eyes sparkle are all the things that make my visit to my father's house incredible. The
best times to sit out on the porch is when it is raining outside because you can watch the dark sky full of clouds just pouring down and you can see the
tree leaves dancing in the wind. When we have family reunions or even little parties, you would see the porch full with all the adults sitting gossiping
and drinking their wines or beers. Not only is the porch an adult hangout spot but it's the safe zone for the kids. The porch is my favorite place
because no matter how old I got it always makes me feel welcome. While enjoying a stroll through the

My lungs burn as they fill with water, as I 'm trying to get my head above surface. I struggle and push my legs harder and harder but no matter how
hard I push I can 't stop sinking. I notice bindings on my feet and desperately try clawing at the rope on my feet. I 'm running out of oxygen, and I have

I bolt up in my bed and blink several times to try and unblock my vision, the shrill sound of my alarm breaking me from my dream. I 'm soaked

Personal Narrative Essay : My Mother As A Little Mother
Mom's Wisdom
Since I was a little girl my mother always taught to be strong, but in a mannerly way. She had to grow up quite fast, because she was born into a
warzone, which made her very independent and strong at a young age. In our culture, it's unusual to have a friendship with your parents because it
should be more of a private relationship. Thankfully, my parents and I had an open relationship about everything and get to express my feelings without
having to hide them. For my mother, she witnessed things kids her age should not, she gone through things many did not, and she also suffered a lot
of pain and deaths of her loved ones. "I remember being so scared of my mother's corpse, and I had to ask myself why I was scared, the woman
lying there is my mother," she said as she was reminiscing about her mother's death. I wondered to myself of how it must have been for her; but she
continued on to tell me the story. "A few months later we lost your uncle and we didn't worry because we knew that mom was up there waiting for
him, but then we had your oldest brother and he died from an overdose on malaria vaccination when he was only seven months." Hearing her going
through that made me feel like I got stabbed in the chest. I just sat there and thought about how empty and lonely she must have felt during those
years. She later told me, "sometimes we lose the big things in our lives so that our eyes can open up to all the little things we take for granted." Anytime

A Worn Path Essay
"A Worn Path"
"A Worn Path" is, in my opinion, a very good story. It tells of an old black woman and the struggles she's had to deal with throughout her life. The
author names the woman Phoenix after a mythological bird that died and then came back to life through its ashes which makes it immortal. The author
makes the woman "immortal" because she continues to have something to live for, her grandson, whom she apparently considers her biggest gift.
The author never says exactly how often the woman makes the journey, but we know she's made it before because the attendants knew who she was
when she came in the building. It is a very long trip because the hunter even said that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

make it through life. Whether or not her grandson was dead or alive, to me, does not have much effect on the story. Either way, the woman making the
trip for him shows her devotion to him and how much she loves him dead or alive.
At times in the story, the woman seems very confused. When she mistakes the scarecrow for a ghost, when she thought the thorn bush was a green
bush, and not knowing whether or not her grandson is alive indicate confusion. The dialogue between Phoenix and the nurse certainly indicates
confusion or forgetfulness. At first she doesn't respond to the attendant. However, once she realizes why she is where she is, her love and devotion to
her grandson is obvious.
Both the hunter and the attendant call the woman "granny" and this shows how the woman was treated her whole life, like an old grandma who has no
business in town. These moments represent how insignificant she is in society. Throughout her life, Phoenix probably had to steal just to get by. A
good example of this is when she takes the nickel from the

What Does It Mean To You Essay
I am instantly met with unbearable pain in my head as I awake. I feel as if I am having an ongoing brain freeze and... wait no, that's is not the right
metaphor to use, it makes it sound like it's a lot less painful than it really is. Rather, I feel like I have just been hit by a train going 200 miles faster
than normal. I don't understand why, but I'm so exhausted, as if I haven't slept in days. I regain my senses and realize the situation I am in. I'm
sitting on a metal framed chair. My wrists are secured behind my back and are locked in metal restraints. I try to stand up only to realize that the
restraints are chained to the floor, along with both my ankles. I try to shake free but it is no use, I'm like a trapped cub trying to get... Show more content

A Short Story : A Story?
Pausing as he started to get in his car, Officer Anderson noticed a sign in the yard, HOME OF ANDREW AND MARGARET BARNES. Glancing at
it, he said, "Wait a minute. Is your husband the pharmacist at the drug store in town, I think they called it Howards Drugs."
"Yes, he is. Do you know him?" Margaret asked.
"Yeah, I remember when I was a little boy I went to the drug store with my grandpa to get his medication. Mr. Barnes always gave me a piece of
candy. All the kids liked him," he repeated. "Thank you, when he comes home, I'll let him know you came by the house and he'll be happy to know
you've done well," Margaret asked.
"Tell him Cecil Anderson came by, he'llremember me. How is he doing?"
"He is doing fine, working every day."
Thanks, sorry to bother you," Officer Anderson said, going toward his car. Waiting until he left before she closed the gate, then Margaret watched as he
crossed the street and went into the grocery store on the corner.
Entering the market, Officer Anderson, opening a file he removed an enlarged photo of Jeremy Stewart, and the clerk asked, "May I help you?" "I'm

"My man on that shift called in to say his baby was sick and I had to work. What happened?" She asked, complaining, "I've worked every night for the

The lost birds, searching for a nest to keep them warm. A nest where they could sleep and stay cozy as the wind continued to blow like smoke out of a

Descriptive Essay About Sparring In Taekwondo
He Was Breathtaking Waking up early on a Saturday to excessively exercise and then getting beaten up afterward is not everyone's cup of tea. It sure
wasn't mine and to this very day, I still have mixed feelings about sparring in Taekwondo. Sparring is a sport for students to better prepare themselves
in self–defense, but also for competition. Light contact was recommended, but at times the pressure gets the better of the fighter. Accidents frequently
occur. I was just starting out in this lung–stopping sport, so neither my mind and body were ready to have the life sucked out of us. I didn't mind
sparring, but when I saw who I was paired with, I might of as well just left the suffocating arena. It was a hot summer morning and I got ready ... Show

torturing question. I felt embarrassed for crying and for stopping in the middle of a fight. My face was beet red. I hated all the eyes that were drilling

As my eyes burned from the sweat and tears mixing together, I yelled at myself, I'm so pathetic! How could I just sit here and rest, while everyone

What Is The Black Magic Essay
The black magic causes many problems, people become ugly and self–abased; it causes some problems among people as well. Make–up is magic
because it can make people more beautiful, and make them feel confidence, but it is also black magic because it can also make people become ugly.
When I was about 13 years old, I attended many performances. Before the performances, teachers would help students put on make–ups. One time, the
blushers were not enough for every student, so they chose to use lipsticks to substitute blushers. I was the unlucky one who used lipsticks as blushers.
The lipsticks were sticky and rigid, so it was hard for teachers to control. I felt my face was getting larger and hot because the teacher was trying to

Some girls always put on make–ups, so it is very difficult to see their real appearances. The make–ups caused a very embarrassed situation for me. A
girl who always puts on make–ups came to my dormitory and wanted to ask some questions. I looked at her and couldn't recognize who she was, so I
spent some time on looking at her face. At last, I still couldn't recognize her, so I asked, "Who are you?" I found that she was very surprised
because she was wincing and looked annoyed, but she still told me who she was. We had the same class in the afternoon. I felt extremely
embarrassed and wanted to find a hole to hide myself. Every time I saw her, I would think make–ups will change a person a lot, and I would leave
immediately. There was a bad story about lipsticks as well. When I was a little kid, I though lipsticks were the most beautiful crayons in the world,
the designs were all different, so my mother's lipsticks got my interest. I used these pretty lipsticks to draw on the paper. When my mother needed to
use lipsticks, she would know that I used her cosmetics again, so she would call my name loudly and started stamping her feet. The end of this story

This technology could spread to the rest of Syracuse and would be a way to introduce concepts of sustainability to people who visit Destiny. Sounds
like a good plan, but in reality might fall short of its goals. Carl and Greg both felt that this project will fail, and that its failure will be attributed to its
green design, not the project's other characteristics. This could negatively affect other, smaller–scale 'green' projects. These types of projects would be
deemed risky investments and scare away potential investors, which would make the investment capital that is crucial to the start up of these projects
hard to come by.
An estimated 40 million people will visit Destiny annually–12 million from out of state (Destiny USA Website). Since Destiny's father, Pyramid CEO
Bob Congel, repeatedly states that he wants Destiny to be fossil fuel–free, it is ironic that plans include enormous parking garages and lots. How will
all of these millions of consumers reach Destiny? They will come by automobile. It is ridiculous to espouse that this project will be fossil fuel–free.

up. The pain that was once focused on two spots of the forehead was now distant, resulting in two thick, dusted grey horns, the same embossed pattern

Margaux didn't feel like herself anymore. She wanted a new name for this being, newly formed. Something reflecting her lavish new mindset. She felt
like the ruler of the world, like the pain that had transformed her was nothing but power, riches and a lifestyle change. She felt like The Emperor as of

Negative Self-Image In Barbie Doll, By Marge Piercy
Negative self–image among women has been a struggle in society for a long period of time. Social media, magazines, and the pressures of society
has caused many young girls to feel bad about themselves because they do not look like the clothing model on the runway or the bathing suit model
on the front of a magazine. Females grow up with the pressures of having to be in shape, wearing the best clothes, and putting on a full face of
makeup for a male to find them attractive. Society has deemed that only "fit" women are beautiful, and that idea has caused women to harm

Single Sex Education Has Been Growing Popularity Since The...
Single–sex education has been growing in popularity since the 2002 No Child Left Behind Act was passed, allowing local educational agencies to use
"Innovative Programs" funds to support same–gender schools and classrooms "consistent with existing law." The U.S. Department of Education
loosened its Title IX regulation in 2006 to diminish prohibitions on single–sex education. While simply separating boys and girls doesn't guarantee
success, schools that use best practices for gender–specific teaching may be more successful at teaching to boys' and girls' strengths. Many experts say
much of the success of single–sex schools stems from a demanding curriculum and a focus on extracurricular activities. These things are gains that
would have been seen regardless of whether the opposite sex was in attendance. Coeducation advocates and researchers also report that segregating
students by gender can lead to greater gender discrimination and make it harder for students to deal with the other sex later in life. What the two sides
can agree on, however, is that every child is unique and deserves an education that uses evidence–based teaching approaches to meet their particular
needs. According to a 2007 longitudinal pediatric neuroimaging study led by a team of neuroscientists from the National Institute of Mental Health,
various brain regions develop in a different sequence and tempo in girls compared with boys (NeuroImage, Vol. 36, No. 4). Using 829 brain scans

A Short Story : A Story?

But it wasn't her hand. Lucille watched, suspended above herself as her body groaned like some horrible monster and moved with vitality that wasn't

Her corpse startled Negan from his nap. He woke up, gasping and crying at the sight of her, falling out of his chair in his haste to get away from her.
But Negan didn't leave yet. Lucille's body remained on the bed, restrained there by the bed rails that kept her from accidentally falling out of bed.
Negan climbed to his feet, hesitantly approaching her body, and then he actually dipped close and kissed her forehead goodbye.
"Negan," Lucille – the real Lucille whispered. He didn't hear her and ran out the door. Lucille floated down to the floor, staring after him. "Negan."
Turning back to her corpse, Lucille reached out and touched the bed. It felt solid under her hand. She reached out and touched her corpse's twitching
foot – and her hand phased through. When she quickly jerked her hand back, the foot moved with it, kicking the air violently. "What the hell is this?"
She dragged herself away from her corpse. "Negan! Negan, where are you?"

Questions On The Parenting Plan
Alvin,
I have some things that I would like to discuss with you, regarding the parenting plan. I recognize the two of us have sort of have steered away from a
few details and feel we need to get back on track.
EXCHANGE
Initially, when creating the parenting plan, the two of us agreed to meet half–way for exchange since you were living in Spring Hill, and I in Palm
Harbor. This is why we chose the church. Since you moved to New Port Richey a few months back, I have not suggested changing the location as I felt
comfortable meeting there. However, since your move, I understand you only live approximately 5 minutes away from the church; making it an
exchange location no longer half–way. After this past Sunday, when I drove 30 minutes out of my way for the switch not to happen, I realized how
unfair that is to me. For this reason, I would like to change the exchange location to be closer to the middle again. According to Google Maps there
is slightly under 30 minutes' drive (with no traffic) between our addresses, therefore I feel a suitable meeting spot is at Publix in Tarpon Springs.
This is still further of a drive for me than for you, nevertheless I feel that it is an excellent location for a comfortable swap. Please let me know if this
is not plausible, thus an agreement can be made on this matter.
I would even consider possibly the parent who is getting the children drives the full distance to pick up, making meeting locations within 5 minutes of
the home address (so for

A Short Story : A Story Of A Story
Remi laughed as she opened the folder and looked at her birth certificate. It seemed so fake without the information visible. "Do you think she's
still out here?" Rhys looked over at Remi and shrugged. "It's been seventeen years, Remi." "Yeah, I know." "What exactly do you intend to do? If
you do get a name?" "You mean am I going to try and go talk to her?" Rhys nodded. "Probably not. I don't exactly have a right to go up to her. But
at least I can figure out her name and try to find out if she did anything important." "I don't know, it just seems like a stretch for a research paper."
Remi shook her head and looked out the window. "I already did my paper on Sunday." "What?" "Yeah, I figured that I wouldn't be able to get any
information that I could use, so I just did one on John Cusack, he's my favorite actor." "Really, John Cusack? He's so boring." Rhys stated as he
looked out the window. "Should've done Johnny Depp." "No he's not. He's a good actor. He doesn't do huge blockbuster's but he's still an amazing
actor. Plus he has an awesome voice!" When they got to the hotel, Billy met them downstairs and they headed to Time Square to sight see and grab
some food. "How come you don't look impressed?" Billy asked Rhys before he shoved a pizza down his throat. "Bittersweet memories man." "You
came here a lot?" "A few times, back in Middle school and high school. Used to come out here with my friends, hoping to spot an actor or two." Remi
was surprised, Rhys rarely ever talked

Character Analysis Of Toni DoierrBy Anthony Doerr

  • 1. Character Analysis Of Toni DoierrBy Anthony Doerr In this world, no one is made perfect because if they were perfect they wouldn't be humans. A person's life is never perfect and doesn't always work the way they want it to. Everyone in this world goes through various devastating situations but only some can make it through into making life perfect. Marie Laure, the protagonist of the short story is shown as blind through her eyes but not through her heart. She uses her imagination to picture everything giving it a color and life, even if it is something we individuals may view as inferior. Throughout the text the author uses characterization to convey the central idea through the description of the character and her thoughts. The central idea being conveyed is that imagination is what plays with the brain which doesn't require you to see with the eyes but with the heart. In the excerpt by Anthony Doerr, Doerr uses characterization to display the ways, in which having imagination is more crucial than having a vision as even setbacks are even turned into great positive outcomes. Marie Laure is a blind character in the article who can be characterized as creative and imaginative. She is seen as those who doesn't require anyone to help her as a blind person due to her high imagination in which sees believes she sees everything. She uses her flaws as a situation to learn from and puts aside all the setbacks it may have creating it into something positive and elegant. For example, in the text it states, "Color – that's another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Sympathization Of Women In William Shakespeare's Romeo... Now, this is a sad truth that men aren't always the best, or as good as women when it comes to expressing emotions. It's not that they don't feel any pain or happiness, the hidden truth is they don't show what they are feeling. For them lovey–dovey stuff is more like elevator music to them. I mean it plays softly in the back of our heads, but most of the time, we're barley listening. But, they do feel everything like women do. No fancy stuff, it's to plain and easy. That is the reason why sympathize with any women trying to figure out how a guy really feels. It's not they can't talk about their feeling; they just not express it by their actions and words. Hey, ladies don't look that said, there is hope. See, the thing is most us, especially we girl over fantasy "LOVE'. Yes, we do, and the thanks to all romantic movies and stories for creating that Juliet and Romeo or Cinderella that has given us false ideas about love stories. ... Do you realize that how much pressure does it a man feels in bed and in a relationship? Well, the pressure of being perfect all the time, handling your mood swings, understanding your dangerous silence, satisfy you in bed, pamper you, and so on. The list is goes on and on. Too sad! • 3. My Grandmother Essay My grandma has alzheimer's so, she can't remember anything that happened earlier that day or 5 minutes ago. I know that I can't get mad at her when she doesn't remember things I just told her. I know that she will remember things about music or some things when she was a child. So, I know some things she won't remember what I did sometimes. "Eileen, what did you do today?" my grandma asked again. My mom and I were visiting my grandma. We were in her bedroom putting away her clothing and cleaning up because she can't. Her room is very homey, because we put paintings and pictures up for her to make it look better, because if we didn't it would be really boring. "Well, I finished school a couple of minutes," I replied. I know... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "Jeez you know how to make guilt trip work." I walked in, I looked around the room it was a big room for just me, it was a gray and with windows. Everyone there were either smiling or just sitting there with a blank face, somewhere in wheelchairs and some had walkers.I smiled, then sat down to get my music ready. "HI, I'm Eileen and I'm Pat's granddaughter, I'm in 6th grade and I'm 11 years old."I stated.I will be playing a couple songs for you, on the cello." I looked at the music then my cello then the crowd, I played the first note it fine. I then could only look at the music because if I looked at the crowed I would freeze up, then mess up. Later , when I was playing my last song. I looked at my grandma and she was sitting there looking at me and her foot was tapping to the music. It made me happy I played for her. I finished and said thank you and went to go pack up all my things and then we went to go say goodbye. We went back to where my grandma lives, it looks like a really house, there's a kitchen, a tv room and then there bedrooms everyone has a roommate. • 4. Summary Of The Glass Mengotie And The Glass Menagerie "Free as a bird. It's the next best thing to be... What ever happened to the life we once knew? Always made me feel so free!" This song, by the Beatles, shares the well known idea of being free as a bird. Since the beginning of time, mankind has wondered what it would feel like to fly, to travel around the world, and to be free. Humans have idolised the talents of birds for this reason. They can go wherever, whenever, and always seem happy soaring through the sky at their own leisure. While birds used to all roam free, now, approximately 3,700,000 of the 8,300,000 birds are being kept as household pets in the United States according to www.avma.org. That's about 44% of the birds in the United States that are kept in cages. Naturally, these birds yearn to fly free and be happy, but instead they are trapped in tiny cages, or, for the lucky ones, some are thrown in a cage as big as a living room television. This feeling of being trapped is how Tom Wingfield from The Glass Menagerie and Mamie from the poem "Mamie" feel. In the Glass Menagerie and the poem "Mamie," respectively, Tom Wingfield and Mamie both feel trapped in their horrible, hated lives. All Tom and Mamie want is to be happy and feel free, but they can't because they are trapped in their society's social disadvantages. In the Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, Tom Wingfield is living the disadvantageous life of the 1930s. At this time, theGreat Depression has begun and WWII is on the way. Tom Wingfield, a ... • 5. My Mother In My Life I grew fearful by the minute. As I walked into the night, I wondered what my mother would say. I broke curfew, again. And my mother is as strict as an Asian parent can get. I could never understand her overprotective nature. It had grown extreme to the point where I couldn't enjoy the little things in life. As frustrated as I was, my mother wasn't always overprotective to this extent though. She grew extremely weary a few years ago when my father and brother both died of brain tumors within the span of a year. It was easily the worst year a family could ever endure. Every day after my brother and father died, I would pretend to be strong, not for my sake, but because someone had to hold the family together when my mother was falling apart. I walked in and saw my younger brother, who fell asleep on the couch, but there was no sight of my mother. When I opened the creaking door of the shared bedroom, my mother seemed half awake, with her eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling with quivering eyes. I wanted to avoid another argument, but it seemed inevitable when she crawled out of her bed and fell onto her knees, her hands covering her tear–stained eyes. There were many times I couldn't stand my mother, but anytime anyone sees his or her mother cry, that feeling destroys a part of your soul you can never seem to get back. "What were you doing out? I was worried sick about you," my mother cried. "I was just taking a walk. It's not a big deal." Throughout the years, I failed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford, has been through a lot in the past couple of months as a result he realizes that being the mayor of Toronto is not easy. This speech is for the citizens of Toronto and anyone who he had offended, he then apologized for his actions and also to compare an editorial by The Star, written on Thursday May 01, 2014. This editorial is trying to target citizens of Toronto and trying to make them see that Rob Ford isn't fit to be mayor and that he should just resign. The speech and editorial are both trying to reach the audience in an effective way. This will be shown by comparing the tone, appeal and rhetorical devices. In the speech and the editorial, there are different types of tones to capture the attention of the audience. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the speech Rob Ford says "I want to apologize, not just to the people of Toronto but to everyone who was hurt by my words and my actions. It was never my intention to embarrass the city or offend my fellow members of council. I deeply regret some of the personal choices I have made." (Ford). He knows that his actions were not acceptable and he would like the city to forgive him by using certain words which reflect him being compassionate towards his audience. The influence this had on the audience is that, Rob Ford wants people to feel sympathy for him and he wants people to know that he is full of regret and wants to redeem himself which he will only be able to do if he is granted another chance. Rob Ford is using that passionate and convincing tone to be effective. In the editorial from The Star, it uses an outraged and passive voice. • 7. The Best Day Of My Life I'm so sorry that I couldn't journey through life with you like an ordinary mother and child. I'm sorry that I couldn't lead you through life. I'm sorry that I couldn't be there for you when times were tough. I'm sorry that I left you as soon as you were born but I had no choice. The day you were born was the best day of my life, truly, I finally knew what it meant to become a mother and it was astounding how much responsibility I suddenly had on my shoulders. Your dad was in trouble withthe police for standing up for Jose, he was Jose's best friend and assisted him in every way possible so that he could bring the stolen money back to the people, I'm sure that he would be so proud of what you've done son. Your Aunt has told me every single part of your story and shown me the goodbye letter you sent to me. I don't know what you look like but I know that you must be a brave, bold person that will fight for what's right. Just like your father you fought for the people not for yourself and you always stood up for what was right even when everything was against you. The police beat you up, just like the police killed your father brutally, all my life has been ruined thanks to this corrupt, unjust world of ours. The police held a personal grudge against your father because he was 'rude' and 'disrespectful' to the government and to them. Your father was quite a character, he was the leader of all the protests against the government and was their main target. He conspired against them on behalf of the people and ended up being killed for it. I could sense a feeling of anxiety as soon as you were born, I've put you through so much already by being your mother. I feel so sorry for everything. Now I will tell my story, and how I put my life on the line for the country, for the people, and most of you, for you. It was 2am in the morning and today was the day, I had made a promise to myself that I would come and visit you, my son in your dump site. I had been imprisoned ever since you were borne, which just so happened to be the same day as when your father, Russel died. When I open the door he is sweating and there is a frown plastered on his face. "What's the matter?" I question. "People talk you know Myrtle. Saying some guy has been flaunting you downtown, buying you all these things. Do you think i'm stupid? I've worked too hard to get us this far. I'm not loosing you to some, some egg!" He started to go into a coughing fit. I am utterly surprised by this outburst of his, i have to think of something to change the subject to. "George honey, are you falling ill? Let me go make you some tea and we can talk about this." I start to head for the door. I reach for the handle but I hear his clunky boots stomping behind me. "So you can run off with him and leave me here alone? I don't think so, we are moving. We're getting out of this town within the week. We are going to restart our lives somewhere far away from here, from him. Until then, you are staying in this room!" He grabs my arm and pulls me back away from the door. I've never seen him like this before, so strong and hard headed. Before I can say another word he dashes out and closes the locks the door behind him. I quickly get up and pull desperately on the door handle."George you open this door right this instant! You hear me?" "Start to pack our things. I'll come check on you in an hour." I franticly start to look around the small bedroom for something to unlock the door. I can't believe that he just left me in here, he has never acted like this. I search everywhere for something to pry the door open, which didn't take long because the room is so cramped. Nothing but disappointment. I'm not some kind of animal he can just lock away when he's not happy. I'm over it, i'm over George. I need a real man that will treat me right, i need Tom. As soon as i can get to the phone i'll call him. George tricked me, manipulated me into marrying him but Tom, Tom will treat me right. I just have to convince him that we can be eachothers restart. • 10. Take Me To Church Analysis 6. Fight Song: Take Me To Church– Hozier I chose this song because in my point of view this is a fight song. Take me to church is a song about the perception of the church, or any powerful institution such as government, about intimacy and sexuality, whatever the orientation. However the song focused in the people with relationships with the same gender. I feel connected with the song because I have a sister who is lesbian, and sometimes I see how bad are treated on social media just because of their choice. People badly judge them by stating "what kind of parent they can be" or " This is a blasphemy for God". Sometimes people do not realize that in every community are good people but also bad people. I'm a religious person, and I could sound rude but I do not support them, however, I'm not against them, I do not judge them like the rest of the people because is their live and not mine. I like this song because it motive people to fight for equality , so they can not be longer cruelty judged by society. 7. • 11. Hero Of The Month: Student's Council Idea HERO OF THE MONTH I believe that the student's council idea to have an election for "HERO OF THE MONTH" is a bad idea. Not everyone would get chosen, people may get treated differently and students may get only voted just because they have friends to vote for them instead of a student who really deserves it. First of all, not everyone will get a chance to be 'HERO OF THE MONTH'. In most public schools, students can reach a total of 1500 students and with only nine months in a school year it's not a likely chance to not get chosen. That means that only nine students would get chosen every school year. Most of us, though, and I regret that I am in this group, will sit through many more ceremonies –– ceremonies longer and more tedious that this or anything else you can imagine. If you think this is bad, try a college graduation. Think, that is, attend a wedding. And, if just for a moment you think that that is bad, just be thankful you have never attended or will attend a Bar Mitzvah. Perhaps out of all my siblings I was the only one who believed that this place was amazing. This place has created many memories in the past and still till this day creating more memories. In my eyes my father's house is the best thing that happen to me in my childhood. As I visit my father's house it brings me back to my childhood. My father lives in Fairport, Ohio and as I drive up the driveway you can see a giant white beautiful porch full of black and white furniture that makes it even more beautiful. First, the giant white porch where we all sat to talk about everything then, the smells of food coming out the door as they call us inside to eat. As I walk up the stairs all I smell is food which makes my stomach start growling because how heavenly it smells. Sometimes I would be sitting down on the porch looking at the sunny sky and the smell of my father's rice and beans makes me race inside to see if the white rice with the red beans and fried chicken would be ready soon. You can smell the sweet and milky flan that he makes every Sunday. When we get ready to sit together for dinner you can see the table full with all types of different foods such as: Rice, beans, chicken, sometimes pork or even fish then the sweet desserts come next to the juicy meats the flans, sweet pies and sometimes even cake which always was sweet and moist. Finally, the treehouse that would make my eyes sparkle are all the things that make my visit to my father's house incredible. The best times to sit out on the porch is when it is raining outside because you can watch the dark sky full of clouds just pouring down and you can see the tree leaves dancing in the wind. When we have family reunions or even little parties, you would see the porch full with all the adults sitting gossiping and drinking their wines or beers. Hearing her going through that made me feel like I got stabbed in the chest. I just sat there and thought about how empty and lonely she must have felt during those years. • 19. A Worn Path Essay "A Worn Path" "A Worn Path" is, in my opinion, a very good story. It tells of an old black woman and the struggles she's had to deal with throughout her life. The author names the woman Phoenix after a mythological bird that died and then came back to life through its ashes which makes it immortal. The author makes the woman "immortal" because she continues to have something to live for, her grandson, whom she apparently considers her biggest gift. The author never says exactly how often the woman makes the journey, but we know she's made it before because the attendants knew who she was when she came in the building. The journey she takes in this story represents her role in life. She is an old black lady living in a white society with no education. Many things make this journey very tough: it is very cold, the path is uphill, and the woman is very old. The trip she makes shows just how determined the woman is to make it through life. Whether or not her grandson was dead or alive, to me, does not have much effect on the story. Either way, the woman making the trip for him shows her devotion to him and how much she loves him dead or alive. At times in the story, the woman seems very confused. When she mistakes the scarecrow for a ghost, when she thought the thorn bush was a green bush, and not knowing whether or not her grandson is alive indicate confusion. The dialogue between Phoenix and the nurse certainly indicates confusion or forgetfulness. At first she doesn't respond to the attendant. However, once she realizes why she is where she is, her love and devotion to her grandson is obvious. Both the hunter and the attendant call the woman "granny" and this shows how the woman was treated her whole life, like an old grandma who has no business in town. These moments represent how insignificant she is in society. Throughout her life, Phoenix probably had to steal just to get by. A good example of this is when she takes the nickel from the ... Make–up is magic because it can make people more beautiful, and make them feel confidence, but it is also black magic because it can also make people become ugly. When I was about 13 years old, I attended many performances. Before the performances, teachers would help students put on make–ups. One time, the blushers were not enough for every student, so they chose to use lipsticks to substitute blushers. I was the unlucky one who used lipsticks as blushers. You get a building fueled by renewable energy that harbors within its walls unsustainable patterns of consumption. This green mall, Destiny USA, is expected to open in Syracuse, New York. Destiny is a proposed $4.2 billion project that will use green building technology to create a complex that will be home to an amphitheater, an aquarium, 500 retailers, 20,000 hotel rooms, and a 65–acre glass enclosed rooftop park (Destiny USA Website). This technology could spread to the rest of Syracuse and would be a way to introduce concepts of sustainability to people who visit Destiny. Sounds like a good plan, but in reality might fall short of its goals. Carl and Greg both felt that this project will fail, and that its failure will be attributed to its green design, not the project's other characteristics. This could negatively affect other, smaller–scale 'green' projects. These types of projects would be deemed risky investments and scare away potential investors, which would make the investment capital that is crucial to the start up of these projects hard to come by. An estimated 40 million people will visit Destiny annually–12 million from out of state (Destiny USA Website). Since Destiny's father, Pyramid CEO Bob Congel, repeatedly states that he wants Destiny to be fossil fuel–free, it is ironic that plans include enormous parking garages and lots. How will all of these millions of consumers reach Destiny? They will come by automobile. It is ridiculous to espouse that this project will be fossil fuel–free. • 35. Negative Self-Image In Barbie Doll, By Marge Piercy Negative self–image among women has been a struggle in society for a long period of time. Social media, magazines, and the pressures of society has caused many young girls to feel bad about themselves because they do not look like the clothing model on the runway or the bathing suit model on the front of a magazine. Females grow up with the pressures of having to be in shape, wearing the best clothes, and putting on a full face of makeup for a male to find them attractive. • 36. Single Sex Education Has Been Growing Popularity Since The... Single–sex education has been growing in popularity since the 2002 No Child Left Behind Act was passed, allowing local educational agencies to use "Innovative Programs" funds to support same–gender schools and classrooms "consistent with existing law." The U.S. Department of Education loosened its Title IX regulation in 2006 to diminish prohibitions on single–sex education. While simply separating boys and girls doesn't guarantee success, schools that use best practices for gender–specific teaching may be more successful at teaching to boys' and girls' strengths. Many experts say much of the success of single–sex schools stems from a demanding curriculum and a focus on extracurricular activities. These things are gains that would have been seen regardless of whether the opposite sex was in attendance. Coeducation advocates and researchers also report that segregating students by gender can lead to greater gender discrimination and make it harder for students to deal with the other sex later in life. What the two sides can agree on, however, is that every child is unique and deserves an education that uses evidence–based teaching approaches to meet their particular needs. According to a 2007 longitudinal pediatric neuroimaging study led by a team of neuroscientists from the National Institute of Mental Health, various brain regions develop in a different sequence and tempo in girls compared with boys (NeuroImage, Vol. 36, No. 4). Lucille watched, suspended above herself as her body groaned like some horrible monster and moved with vitality that wasn't there just an hour or so ago. She hadn't left him, but she was hardly resting now. Unable to interfere, Lucille watched. I recognize the two of us have sort of have steered away from a few details and feel we need to get back on track. EXCHANGE Initially, when creating the parenting plan, the two of us agreed to meet half–way for exchange since you were living in Spring Hill, and I in Palm Harbor. This is why we chose the church. Since you moved to New Port Richey a few months back, I have not suggested changing the location as I felt comfortable meeting there. However, since your move, I understand you only live approximately 5 minutes away from the church; making it an exchange location no longer half–way. After this past Sunday, when I drove 30 minutes out of my way for the switch not to happen, I realized how unfair that is to me. For this reason, I would like to change the exchange location to be closer to the middle again. According to Google Maps there is slightly under 30 minutes' drive (with no traffic) between our addresses, therefore I feel a suitable meeting spot is at Publix in Tarpon Springs. This is still further of a drive for me than for you, nevertheless I feel that it is an excellent location for a comfortable swap. Please let me know if this is not plausible, thus an agreement can be made on this matter.
