Take your dull parts to a brilliant luster! Plate almost any metal part – including
brass, copper, and steel (not for aluminum, pot metal, or stainless steel). The Tin-
Zinc Electroplating System brings a brilliant luster to properly prepared metal parts
with a corrosion-resistant, protective plating resembling chrome, but without the
expense, hassles, or hazards.
How it works: Electroplating uses a small electric current to pull amounts
of metal from the positively charged tin-zinc anode bar through an electrolyte
solution onto the negatively charged piece to be plated. Plating begins as soon as
the piece is placed in the solution. The longer the piece is submerged, the heavier
the coating on the piece will be. You can remove the piece from the solution to
check the progress and replace it for a thicker coating. The process is finished
when the piece is covered with a dull gray film which easily polishes to a beautiful
shine. Available in the continental U.S. only.
What you get:
Contains everything needed to plate dozens of small parts: a chemical-resistant plastic 2 quart
mixing container, with pre-mixed solution; a plating touch-up brush for small parts or to repair
damaged plating; a low voltage battery box (requires 2 D cell batteries, not included); anode bar; wire
leads; funnel; safety goggles; disposable gloves; and a tube of Autosol polish. Diamond Clear Gloss
Finish for Bare Metal (10200Z) is recommended for increased corrosion protection.
