The Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost serves as the chief operating and academic officer for the campus. He works closely with the Chancellor and an extensive group of campus colleagues in guiding strategic planning and policy development, in promoting campus-wide academic initiatives and in defining budgetary and development priorities.
The Office of the Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer advises the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost regarding academic and budgetary planning issues and allocation of campus resources, including issues involving students, faculty, staff, space, and university finances. The office also manages the key campus planning processes and data sets that support these decisions, and performs a central role in UCLA's systems of internal control and accountability. The office also is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of all campus capital projects.

UCLA External Affairs advances UCLA’s mission of teaching, research and community service through a coordinated campus-wide communications, advocacy and development effort. The common goal is to connect UCLA’s faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends through strategies and programs designed to build long-term relationships and support for the University.
As Vice Chancellor-Legal Affairs, Kevin S. Reed oversees UCLA’s provision of campus-wide legal assistance and ombuds services, the prevention of sexual harassment and compliance with Title IX. He also serves as associate general counsel of the University of California.
Student Affairs supports the academic success of all UCLA students, fosters their intellectual, personal, social and professional development in preparation for the entirety of their lives, and contributes to enhancing the quality of campus life, the educational environment, and our students' relationship with the broader UCLA family, including alumni.
