Responsible for the personal counseling and support of the entire Upper School
student body and faculty on an as-needed basis, point person in crisis situations, and

Advisor to the Peer Leadership Program. Organize/plan Life Skills curriculum taught
to all freshmen with the involvement of student Peer Leaders. Coordinate special
events and health and wellness programs for students and families. Assist with eighth
grade and new student transitions by coordinating student visits, day hosts, and buddy
program. Teach Health to tenth graders and one elective (one semester long) in
Leadership/Applied Psychology.

Lead small division-specific committees for ideas and support. Create and
implement yearly assessment of advising process for all constituents. Work with
principals to create additional time in the schedule specifically for advising. Run
topic-specific workshops each quarter to enhance knowledge, expertise, and skills
of advisors (especially first year Advisors). Meet with new advisors (and/or
advisors in need of additional support) before major events: parent conferences,
grade reports, transitions, course selection to better prepare them for problem-
solving with all members of the community. Work with division principals to
create (and use) time at faculty meetings to discuss advising concerns and/or
questions. Manage all advisor/advisee pairings.

Academic advising, course selection, course changes, the monitoring of all grade ten
students. Coordination of services for students with learning differences who need
untimed/extended time testing and referrals.

Responsible for promoting and maintaining an open, cooperative relationship with the
Rye public and private schools, the Rye Hospital Center, and the Rye Recreation
Department. Facilitate weekly parent meetings, directing drug/alcohol free clubs,
advise peer counseling program, develop programs and practices to address the social,
physical, personal, and educational needs of all Rye youth and implemented several
new programs.
