The virtue of Truth, Truthfulness, Veracity, is the practice, the habit of making a right use of speech, by employing language to express the convictions, the beliefs of the mind. The words men utter are, strictly speaking, part of their conduct, for the tongue is a bodily organ as much as are the hands. This action of truth-telling is an expression of what this person wants, and who this person is. It is in them to do this. They desire to tell the truth. This is why truth-telling is described as a moral virtue. And conduct is interesting to the moralist as the expression of character. Because speech is a manifestation of the of the intellectual and moral life, it is susceptible of approval and disapprobation, of praise and blame. It has moral character, in this respect, among others: it may be truthful and virtuous, or false and wrong. In order that there may be Truthfulness, there must be two or more intelligent and moral beings, able to use and to understand speech, as the medium of communication among them.

To be truthful means people can trust you
even if nobody watching. Our actions and
behavior should be consistent whether you are
at home, school, or at work.
6. A person shows truthfulness in the things he or she
does when:
1. He or she stands for what he or she believes is right.
2. He or she uses words that match his or her actions.
3. He or she does not fool himself or herself in doing
what he or she knows is wrong.
4. He or she fills his or her life and mind with things
that will help him or her live a clean life.
5. He or she puts into practice what he or she knows is
right.
7. Reasons why people sometimes are not truthful in the
things they do:
1. He or she is avoiding trouble and protecting himself
or herself by pretending that he or she was not the
one who did the bad action, when in fact he or she
was the one who did it.
2. He or she is avoiding punishment from strict parents
and teachers.
3. He or she is avoiding embarrassment so that he or
she will still have friends.
4. He or she is saving others, like members of the
family or friends from getting into trouble.
5. He or she wants others to get into trouble.
