2. What kind of media institution might distribute your
media product and why?
Warner Bros would be the best suit distributor for the movie ‘
Hidden in the Shadows’ because it is a very successful company that
stand against very successful and world money making movies such
as the horror movie ‘Orphan’, ‘The Final Destination’, ‘The Conjuring
2’ and ‘Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire was disturbed by Warner
Bros. In 2005, on the day of release, this movie made $40 million in
the first day and then made $896.9 million in the box office all
together. This successful film which contains thriller, excitement and
suspense is the type of movie that films in to a near group of our
film and Warner Bros. helps our films to gain a massive profit.
Warner Bros is one of the biggest American entertainment industries
which has it’s headquarters in Burbank, California. Warner Bros. has
several subs companies, including Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner
Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television, Warner
Bros. Animation, Warner Home Video and much more.
3. Setting up the lighting before filming was very
new to me but I learnt different lighting
techniques such as 45 degree lighting from the
subject and oblique lighting which makes
shadows on the characters face to create effects.
All these different techniques made us perform
differently to each genre and film we made. For
example, creating suspense and fear.
Sound was another important technique that
needed to be accurate at all times because if you
cannot hear the characters dialogue then there
would be no film unless while editing adding
dialogue afterwards but this can be very time
consuming.
4. Looking back at my preliminary task, I have learnt that
choosing the right shots for each part of the clip is very
important as the audience will not witness and get a feel of
what is going on and they may not be focussed on something
you need them, Using close up shots for these areas would be
highly appropriate.
Also, the lighting is important of making the environment
appropriate for the genre of the movie, you cannot have a
bright set if you are doing a scary part of a horror movie, it
would be more effective if it was dark and involved low key
lighting.
