DESCRIPTION
The LE-2ON is a dual pod, dual bus fiber-optic Ethernet
plug-in module for use with MultiNet modular active star
enclosures. MultiNet hubs can be fully populated with
fiber modules providing high density fiber
interconnection. Each port link can connect via a duplex
fiber optic cable to other MultiNet fiber optic equipment.
The LE-20N module can be used in the multiple LAN
environment of the MultiNet hubs to provide reliable
parallel LAN backbone links or connectivity to the user.
Three modes of operation are available. In the Normal
Mode, both ports connect to one of the two internal
Ethernet busses. In this mode port and LAN redundancy
can be activated providing fault tolerant design
capabilities. In the Backbone Mode each port is
connected to a different LAN allowing cost effective
linking of multiple segments. Standalone Mode allows
the extension of fiber links without connecting to the
bus.
The LE-20N is manageable by MultiMan, LANNET’s
Network Management System. This provides extensive
control, monitoring and administration of the module
from the - remote management console. MultiMan offers
performance and event reporting and analysis of the
LE-20N through the network management SNMP agent.
Using the management control or via a DIP switch, the
ports can be placed in redundancy mode.
