All throughout ancient cultures, there are stories, legends, and myths. Many of these cultures share similarities within their origin explanations. The
recurrences of these stories are called motifs. From great floods to benevolent creators, all creation myths share similarities within at least one other
myth, whether it be Babylonian,Christian, Greek, or Cheyenne. There can always be a motif found in any creation myth; the most popular of which
include man being created from organic materials, the creator breathing life into the creation(man), and the earth and sky forming from the body of the
creator(s).
Man being created from organic materials One of the most commonly known creation myths is about the Christian/Hebrew creation of man. In this
myth, the first man is made from organic materials and the first woman is made from a rib taken from the first man. Ancient cultures realized that they
were made from the same things as the environment around them, so it would only make sense for their creation myth to involve man being made
from all sorts of organic materials. This inclusion of this motif shows that ancient cultures had at least a basic understanding of the elements and what

imagery found in this primary source were "darkness wrapped in darkness", "only illumined water" "cosmic waters, in depths unfathomed," (Fiero
15). These forms of imagery depicts or describes what the universe was like before the "that One" arose. The order of creation in this myth seems
to be that of "the One" being in the empty universe before anything else and then when "that One" arose, he or she brought heat as well as light in

Every person in America has a myth or conviction of truth as to how creation was formed and human beings came into existence. The following are
inclusive in creation myths, the first is the Zulu myth found in the continent of Africa, and the other is the myth of Norse originating from Europe.
Both myths give a reason as to how creation was formed on earth. Though there are endless amounts of ideas and vast amounts of myths to explore, the
focus of these two particular myths brings fascination to a social phenomenon.
The cycle of creation in the Zulu myth is as follows in the in–text citation ("Zulu Creation", 2011): Darkness was in the beginning accompanied by a
large seed. The seed fell from heaven and the seed produced reeds that grew called Uthlanga. One seed in particular grew into a man and his named
Unkulunkulu. He grew so large and heavy that he broke off and fell to earth. As he fell, he walked earth with a purpose to grow other seeds into male
and female. Outside of humans, Unkulunkulu created animals, mountains, lakes, and the sun and moon. He taught female and male how to survive by
imparting agriculture to grow things, how to hunt, and make fire. Unkulunkulu sent a chameleon into the world with the message that his people will
live forever. As this animal took too long, his impatience grew and a lizard sent out a message of death completing the circle of birth to death.

Even though these creation myths all stem from different continents, they share many similarities. One big similarity is that all of the creators are
male or appear masculine. This reflects on what worldwide culture was like for a long time because it shows that all of the ancient people believed

The Chinese creation myth starts out with an enormous egg containing chaos. The chaos had raged on the inside of the egg. Yin and Yang, which were
swirled together, along with all the other opposites. Then, the egg burst open and Pan–gu jumped out. After coming out of the egg, he then separated

At the infrastructure of nearly every culture is a creation myth that explains how Earth in its entity came to be. Cosmology is defined as being all of
the assumptions we make about how the universe is arranged. Modern society has developed possible assumptions in regards as to how the universe

Have you ever considered any of the creation myths other than the one of your religion? There are thousands of creation myths on the earth now, but
what about all of the creation myths which went extinct with their people? Creation myths are fascinating and many of them have motifs, a repetitive
topic within creation myths. The three main motifs which interest me are the idea of humans made of organic materials, the idea of humans being
created last, and the idea of the flood. These motifs seem to interest me most because they all seem off the wall and in some nature crazy; it really

Creation myths are stories describing or explaining the creation of the world. Each culture has their own creation myth and how they believe it all went
about. However, there are many similarities within the different cultures creation myths that I looked at. These similarities are called motifs. Motifs are

the world was created, many different cultures have their own "creation myth". These creation myths all have an obvious contrast between them, as
well as a large similarity that creates a large connection. The creation myths of the Japanese, Australian, Christianity and Greek cultures all have their
own individual understanding that makes a miraculous story of how all things present this day came to be.

An understanding from these stories has formed that all humans and animals came to be so highly populated from only an isolated number of the
species. Inferring that the "creator" creates a small number of the species to then breed on and create a world full of that species. In the Christianity
myth God creates only two humans (Adam and Eve) who are responsible for reproducing and their offspring repeating the cycle. The Christianity
myth is similar to the Japanese where there were two deities who reproduced and their offspring breed on. In contrast to the Greek myths who had a
variety of gods who were believed to have made man out of clay and Athena breathed life into them. These creation myths give an understanding that
it is believed by people of different cultures that procreation is how the world's population of species came to be as it is
