3. DR.MAKHDUM MUHAMMAD AJAML:
INTRODUCTION:
He his PhD in Psychology, which he completed
at University College London Amongst his
supervisors & teachers were Professors Michael
Fordham,J. C. Flugel and in particular, Gerhard
Adler.
He trained in Freudian and Jungian
psychoanalysis, while working part-time for
theBBC.
His PhD thesis is titled 'Comparison of Jungian
and Freudian Analysis'.
4. • Because of his ultimate efforts a separate psychology department
was established in government college lahore first time and he
became its first head and professor..
•He established the first ever counselling center in Pakistan in his
department and established the Lahore Mental Health Society.
•He also established the Center of Excellence, The National Institute
of Psychology at Quaid-e-azam University.
•He wrote numerous plays for the BBC Urdu service and interviewed
the famous A. S. Neill of Summerhill School.
• After his death, the Government of Pakistan named it "Dr. Ajmal
National Institute of Psychology.
• He was given the title of 'National Professor of Psychology'.

6. DR AZHAR ALI
RIZVI
He obtained his PhD degree from
University of the Punjab.
And 2nd PhD in Counselling
Psychology from South West
University (USA).
7. CONTRIBUTIONS:
He introduced the paper of Experimental Psychology at
Intermediate level in 1962 along with practicals
Due to his constant efforts, Psychology was included in the
Faculty of Science in the University of the Punjab in 1974.
Also translated many Psychological Inventories into Urdu.
Dr. Azhar Ali Rizvi remained Editor of a Psychology
Quarterly for about 19 years. In Encyclopedia of Psychology
(2002), published by American Psychological Association
and Oxford University Press, his contributions were highly
acknowledged BY her senior prof makhdum ajmal.
9. INTRODUCTION:
•Dr.Ruhi Khalid completed her Ph.D in
Psychology from the University of Glasgow
in 1985.
•Dr. Ruhi Khalid is the Director of Institute
of Psychology, Beaconhouse National
Uiversity, Lahore and former Professor and
Chairperson of the Department of
Psychology and Applied Psychology,
Punjab University, Lahore.
10. CONTRIBUTIONS:
•She established Higher Educational Link Programme under
the DFID Programme between University College London’s
sub-department of Clinical and Health Psychology for period of
three years (2001-2004).
•She is an active researcher and has participated and organized
various workshops, seminars and conferences within the country as
well as in U.K., U.S.A., Holland, Sweden, Italy and Malaysia.
•She has also contributed a chapter on Pakistan in the upcoming
book 'International Perspectives on Feminism' for the
International and Cultural Psychology book series by springer.
•She is on the Editorial Board of number of scientific journals. Her
research publications include books and research articles published
in national and international scientific Journals of repute. The list of

• DR.Gulzar Ahmad
qualified his PhD in
Applied Psychology in 1998
from University of the
Punjab, Lahore.
• Dr Gulzar is a Foreign
Professor by the Higher
Education Commission of
Pakistan.
15. CONTRIBUTIONS:
•Dr Gulzar is the President of Pakistan Council on Family
Relations (NGO) (www.familyrelation.org) .
•His 15 research papers have been published in journals of
national and international repute.
•He has/had been holding memberships and positions in
over 40 national and international organizations around
the globe.
•His biography is published in Marquis Who’s Who in the
World, New Jersey, US and International Biographical
Centre, Cambridge, England, UK in ten consecutive
editions each.
16. CONTRIBUTIONS:
His interviews were broadcast and telecast on
different radio and television channels including
PBC & PTV network, Bahrain radio & television,
ABC radio & television South Africa and ABC radio
& television Australia.
He was honored with excellent teaching awards by
FBE, and the best speaker awards by a Toastmaster
International Club, Bahrain.
Dr Gulzar participated in over 80 national and
international conferences and workshops.
He is a renowned writer for community’s social and
moral development, public speaker.
