31 December, 2011 the population of Turkey was 74.724.269. In 2011,
the population of residing increased 1.001.281 according to last year.
In fact Turkey extends over two continents with the parts; west of
Bosphorus being in Europe and eastern part being Asia. Turkey’s
actual area is 814.578 km² and projection area is 783.562 km².
Population density is 97 people per square km. Turkey’s total land
border is 2,627 km. The longest border is with Syria and 822 km and
the shortest border is with Azerbaijan as 9 km.
