2. INTRODUCTIO
N
Actually, about 90 percent of what children eat contains the sugar, starch and
carbohydrates that can lead to cavities. Almost every food that we eat like fruits, bread,
peanut, pasta, cereals, crackers, cookies…can lead to cavities. It is a soft decayed area in
a tooth. Therefore, the goal of the project is to attain healthy teeth and healthy individual
through encouraging children and teenagers to limit eating sweeten foods and always
keep their teeth clean by tooth brushing it two to three times a day after you eat. Through
this way we can achieve no candies, no cavities individuals.
Have you experience toothache? You might ask what is/are the
cause(s) of this. One major cause of toothache is the so called
cavities. Eating so much candies may result to cavities which is
threaten toothache and tooth decay. Thus we are proposing project
entitled “No Candies, No Cavities” to help children and teenagers
about maintaining no cavities teeth.
3. This project simply wants to address problems about tooth ache and decay because
of cavities. As well as to lessen and prevent too much consumption of candies for children
and teenagers. Thus, the project is supported by Department of Health and Barangay
Official of Barangay Tabionan.

This project may benefit everyone in the community including children and teenagers.
4. This project “No Candies, No Cavities” is all about promoting healthy lifestyle from less to
zero consumption of candies and products with high sugar content. It aims to help children
and teenagers of Barangay Tabionan, to lessen and prevent severe tooth decay and abnormal
growth of teeth. To inform them about the effects of eating too much candies that causes
cavities so that they can prevent it.
It is a project that is sponsored by the Department of Health (DOH) and by the
Barangay Captain of Tabionan, Gasan, Marinduque. It will be conducted on October 12-14,
2018 at Barangay Tabionan and will continue up to 2019. As part of the project, we will
initiate activities in the said Barangay including monthly orientation and seminar, giving
toothbrush once a month and poster posting in every store and school.
DESCRIPTION
5. The project needs to gather budget for the materials needed such as toothbrush, tooth paste,
for workbook, poster printing and posting and transportation. Thus, the project is supported and
sponsored by Department of Health (DOH) and Barangay Tabionan Officials. The said sponsored is
acknowledge for its willingness to provide budget and offers services.

6. OUTPUTS AND
DOCUMENTATION
SHARE INFORMATION. We start posting poster on October 12 (Friday Afternoon) up to
October 13, 2018 (Saturday morning). We post in the different store and school canteen in
Barangay Tabionan including Sitio Dos, Uno, Cumba, Dungunin and Camanga. It is to inform
people about the possibilities that might happen if you eat too much candies.

8. BRUSH, BRUSH, BRUSH… We conducted tooth brushing activity for children and
teenagers in Tabionan to let them know that they have to clean their teeth every day to
prevent tooth problems.
9. WELL ORIENTED. The
people should know the major
concerns and they should be the
first to know the information
about the project so that they can
guide their children – it is
possible through monthly
orientation.
