This is a presentation that I created that discusses about my overall experience with my virtual internship with Gushcloud.

2. OVERVIEW
BACKGROUND/RESEARCH ABOUT THE PLACEMENT
Gushcloud International is a talent and social media agency that aims to
collaborate and work with the international and well-known brands whilst
creating a positive influence for the future influencer landscape. They
currently run five sub-units that focuses on entertainment, social media
influencers, talent, technology, and investments, that enables the company
to market their talents and products on the international platform.
3. OVERVIEW
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE WORK DAY
During the internship, I worked within the Corporate Communications Department of Gushcloud Philippines, particularly the
Creatives Department. They are responsible for the promotion of their products and the works of their talents (e.g., new single, etc.),
holding live commerce events through social media, and continually making themselves present within the social media space. On
average, I worked from Wednesdays to Fridays for an average of 11 hours a week.
I have two supervisors that I have worked with throughout this internship:
Darlene Malimas, who is the Regional Head for Corporate Communications. I have mostly worked with her when it comes to Public
Relations (PR) and Marketing-related matters, as well some administrative tasks that needed to be done.
Albert Lima is the Art Director of Gushcloud Philippines. I have mostly worked with him in terms of social media content creation,
given the fact that it heavily uses Graphic Design.
4. REFLECTION
WHAT WAS THE EXPERIENCE LIKE? HOW WAS THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE DIFFER FROM
THOSE YOU HAVE HAD DURING THE REST OF YOUR UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCE?
I had a very enjoyable time during the internship as it has enabled me to fully know and understand
what it is like to be in the industry as well as the position that I am able to be in. Being on this
internship journey helps me to clearly know what are my strengths and weaknesses and what
particular skills that I am good at.
The learning experience that I have acquired within this program is very much different from what I
had experienced in a university setting as it helps me to apply what I have learned in the past two
years, especially copyright and the importance of having an online presence within a digital space.
5. REFLECTION
WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES?
Some of the strengths that I have acquired throughout this internship is that I am mostly
good at being punctual – ensuring that I delivered a high quality of work on time or earlier.
Throughout this internship, my communication skills have also improved as well. Before
starting a task, I ensure that I brief my mentor first before starting my task as this would help
me to know what other things or information that I might need or need to know. In addition,
there have been some cases where I needed to chat with other Gushcloud staff to request
for deliverables needed for my task.
6. REFLECTION
WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES?
Although they are minor, some of the weaknesses that I have are my graphic design skills,
as well as to take initiative. After hearing those feedback from one of my mentors, I am well
aware that those are the areas that need some improvement and practice, given that I have
a novice background to graphic design and needed some further practice to further
enhance my design skills.
7. REFLECTION
WHAT AREAS DID YOU LIKE OR DISLIKE?
The areas of my work that I have particularly liked are the collaborative and marketing-related tasks
where I have worked with my fellow interns, Taf and Amy. Given that majority of the work that I have
done in the internship are mostly PR-related, I find them to be enjoyable and may consider them to be
a choice for my future career as these collaborative tasks helped me think and exercise my creative
thinking and skills.
Graphic Design, however, was my least liked area as I find it to be quite consuming and also given the
fact that I have not fully mastered the eye for design, which makes my graphic design tasks even
more challenging to conquer.
8. REFLECTION
WHAT AREAS WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT?
Although I do not have a background on the following areas, I would somehow love
to learn more about the PR and the Marketing related side of things as these are
the areas that I find really enjoyable to do throughout this internship. At first, I
thought that I was going to be creating a newsletter release from scratch, not
knowing of what am I going to write, which is something that I fear before starting
this internship. However, with the help of my mentor, she has provided me some
available resources on how to effectively do this task.
10. GRAPHIC DESIGN
• Produced a few social media posts for k-vanity to
promote the live commerce event with Shopee
Southeast Asia.
• Complied with the branding guidelines of k-vanity for
conciseness.
• Consulted with my mentor for any changes with the
design of the photos, as well as guiding me with some
directions on how to make it visually pleasing to the
followers of the brand.
11. VIDEO EDITING
• Edited a draft version of the video for the
second episode of Gushcloud’s LinkedIn
series titled “House of Influence” where I
only focused on Oddie’s (Country Director of
Gushcloud Indonesia) parts in the recent
“TikTok & Youth Cultures” virtual event
hosted by Dr. Crystal Abidin.
• Edited it using a video software called
iMovie.
• Consulted with my mentor and other creative
staff such as Beverly to highlight timeframes
where important information has been said.
Final version of the video
12. MARKETING
• Collaborated with my fellow interns, Taf and Amy,
to produce/brainstorm some ideas on how to
market Gushcloud’s products as well as to how to
effectively make their presence known in the digital
space.
• In these examples shown on the left, we have
produced some ideas for the planned merchandise
line for the Gushcloud Staff who are either new
parents or just gave birth to their child, given that it
must be gaming (for ALMGHTY, an eSports
gaming team that they manage) and influencer (for
their main objective of managing influencers)
themed.
13. ADMINISTRATIVE
• Created a photoshoot guide deck for the
brands that they sub-manage, such as the
Summer Beauty House.
• Produced spreadsheets as well, for
example:
• Project Timeline for the revamping of
the GCX Studios and ALMGHTY
Websites
• Keeping track of the press guesting of
Gushcloud employees.
