They created an economy based heavily on trade and relying on each other, as we do today every country in the world needs something from other countries to survive and they realized instead of traveling to gather necessities they could trade for what they needed from other people they need something they have. They didn’t create hierarchy, but western civilization started hierarchy over city-states, I would call the first government structure. People in groups started having traditions and believing in religions so I take it this was the start of what people’s beliefs are today. People had jobs such as farming, raising domesticated animals, metal workers, textile production, etc… Everyone pitched in to help their people to strive and played a role. I would say this was the first true start to an economy like what we know of it today. The Western Civilization started the settling of people in an area and creating a city. Southern Mesopotamian’s created Sumner the first known city-state and those people where called Sumerians. Western Civilization’s fought to control other city-states, and that still happens to this day. Western Civilization helped created life as we know it today it was the beginning of innovation, and people working together for the greater good. It was the beginning of people settling and making a home during the different seasons and climate changes adapting to a land and making it theirs. The Western Civilizations took what took the riskier approach and created to me a capitalistic opportunity, in the way of wealth. The poor had their schemes then as well they would rob and steal to and Hammurabi created law. People married just as we do today the only difference is they believed in prenuptial agreements just kidding. I would say that all these aspects are key because they made life the way we live it now, granted we have more technology, machinery, and currency. They created people unifying to become something great, Western Civilization set the blueprint to how the world lives today in my eyes. Granted they had a lot of differences as well but for the most part humans made the first step that domesticated humans, which allowed for humans to rely on each other to build beyond what any one person or family can do. This was the start for all the success humans has been able to accomplish. This was the start of learning, innovation, and unity. Even though there was a lot of good that came from Western Civilization, a lot of bad came with it as well. Challenges will always be there and still existing today, and we have started this whole civilization thousands of years ago. It amazes me how they had mathematicians, irrigation systems, and how adva ...
